Join me as I hit the Valley Thrift Store, Salvation Army, and 2 different Goodwill stores in the search for items to add to my eBay store and flip for a profit.

I found what I thought was s keyboard for $7 at the thrift store. It was called an omnichord and was a synthesizer from the 80's put it up for $300 on offerup and my phone started blowing up. I pulled the post down and instead put it on ebay for $500. Sold within an hour. Always on the lookout for another one of those

i have been collecting and reselling for 30 years. before reselling was so common. i did it as an addition to my income from my job. i started selling on ebay when ebay was brand new. before that it was prodigy. i couldn't begin to tell about how many amazing finds i have found over the years. i mostly sell vintage doll items.

I picked up a nice, heavy bottle the other day for the grand sum of 50c. Sells for $170 :) Also a plastic bag full of scout woven badges and other items, made quite a bit.

I always get excited in these videos when yall come across wooden boxes cuz I've found I really enjoy refurbishing jewelry boxes. Also, when you were looking at that last cart I lowkey hoped you'd find out where the lady got her sparkly hat.

I think GW is usually a bit overpriced. However, if you have a St. Vincent near you, they are a lot better and more reasonable.

Great video, but I'm starting to realize that resellers who do not have these palace-like thrift stores available where the shelves are packed from top to bottom with valuable items in great condition, neatly stocked and sorted, those resellers don't tend to make 'Look at me making a ton of profit" videos. :)

Honestly, I do have good thrift stores overall but I am there a ton to make the finds I do. These are highlight visits and not hours long live streams of all my picking. I source all over the place, yard sales, pallets, bin sales, estate sales, fb marketplace, thrift stores, and more. Even if you have no thrift stores or bad ones in your area most people can succeed as at least part time resellers if they are willing to put in the work.

exactly...all the thrift stores in my area are stripped clean by every grandma, teenager and middle age person doing the same thing, you can't make money at most thrift places anymore

Vinyl is definitely hot right now. There should be a little bit of money depending on the albums when it comes to the johnny cash. It really varies depending on the album though.

Yes, if it's the right type / brand of kitchenware. Take good photos. Decent titles with keywords. Solid description noting any defects.

What is your target number for volume as far as how many sold within how long of a period of time on eBay before you decide to pick something up from the thrift store/FB groups, ect..?

It really depends on the item, size of item, and the margins. I would say typically I want at least a 40 to 50% sell through rate on an item in the past 90 days. The closer to 100 the better.

@@Nvm-_-Ricky basically how many items are sold versus listed. So, if there are 10 listed and 10 sold it has a 100% sell through rate. The higher the percentage the better.

It's the ebay app. Search the item or scan a barcode and filter by sold listings.

your channel came up on my feed few days ago... I watched and before I read your bio “ I was like I know those stores” 😂 I frequented all of them when we lived in Beavercreek. We moved to Florida 8 yrs ago and the thrift stores here are expensive and there aren’t any that compare to The Valley. Awesome Thrifting! 😁

How do you know if something is dead stock like from Yankee Candle?

That's a good question. I'm going to copy paste my answer from below. Not all candles are seasonal. Once a candle starts to go over it's msrp on ebay it is usually due to being seasonal or dead stock. Sometimes listings of candles will have discontinued in the title when you run comps from people that know about candles.

MY LOCAL thrift stores are HIDEOUS!!!! They're so messy and look rundown. And they have minimal lighting inside the stores, making it difficult to see the condition of the items!! Badly kept and badly displayed. Nothing worth buying. Most of the items look like they were dumpster diving and threw them on the shelves!

So basically if you can stock 25,000 $15 dollar items with a clear profit of like $5 each you can make 6 figures in this gig. That's 17 sales per day btw just to pay your bills let alone make 100k. It also means you must maintain the 25k of inventory at that price point and relevance. Adjusting the metrics changes the math of course. All of us would love to resell Dr. Martens for $100 and $60 profit. Sadly so do the dingy people and employee partners buying those out the backdoor. Just a mental exercise I like to do when watching these eBay videos.

We have yard sales to blow out lesser items we get from bulk buys and pallets. I rarely do auctions as they have a high non payment rate on ebay. I really only use those when it's hard to value the item. I offer free shipping by baking the shipping cost into my price. You get an algorithm boost from doing so as well as it being a customer expectation.

Not all candles are seasonal. Once a candle starts to go over it's msrp on ebay it is usually due to being seasonal or dead stock. Sometimes listings of candles will have discontinued in the title when you run comps from people that know about candles.
