Hey @Davie504 , the guy at 4:07 is Paul Gilbert, he's legit and is one of the greatest guitar players alive (most famous for his work with the band Mr. Big), he is using distortiom and compression on the bass that's why he's playing seemingly so effortlessly, plus he is using a pick so, as you know, he can hit the strings a lot harder, with the right technique (which he has), without having to move his hand a lot. Here's an honest story: One of my seniors in my college went for a battle of bands contest. The minimum requirement for a band to be valid was that it must have a basist, drummer and an electric guitaist. On the day of the contest, the basist got real sick, and he bailed on them. My senior was a vocalist/rhytm guitarist. He took the base, wore it over his shoulder and acted like he was playing it. Long story short, he won the 1st prize. Holding a base doesn't just make you cool. It makes you a better vocalist.

I have to comment on the guy whose acoustic guitar sounded like an electric. He's actually a virtuoso guitarist, but is not part of that singer's band. The singer arrived to the venue (it was a pop music festival named Slavyansky Bazaar / Славянский базар) without her musicians, but some protocol of the event required musicians to be present on stage, so they asked another singer's band to fake a performance for that woman (Yelena Vayenga, if you're interested). The guitarist was absolutely mad at the organizers cause he was not given any time to prepare for this and went on stage with his acoustic guitar without even knowing the backtrack had an electric guitar instead, all while trying to at least guess the solo and fake it more-or-less realistically (which is not reasonably possible, I know). He was later exposed at the Evening Urgant Show (the Russian equivalent of Saturday Night Live), and he responded to all the mockery he was facing with an explanation of what had actually happened. Now, let's be honest: how many of you would be able to go on stage and fake playing a solo in a song you've never heard for a singer you've never worked with?
