These Final Fantasy Games NEED Remakes! 

I said it before but Project Memoria is exactly how I feel a remake of FF9 should look and feel like. It gives me goosebumps every time I see it.

I'd love to see VIII similar to VII remake and II in the vein of strangers of paradise.

I would love HD remasters of Dragon Quest 8, Chrono Trigger, and Parasite Eve.

Tactics Remake would be so good, I kept thinking that while playing Baldur’s Gate 3. FF Tactics was the first game I ever played that was reaaaally close to the Dungeons and Dragons combat system.

Like you, I think IX only needs a remaster where only the battle system and graphics are touched. Maybe add a bit of lore about Fratley, Amarant, and Quan, not necessarily in cutscenes, maybe in an NPC dialogue or new sidequests. What I think needs a bigger remaster tho is VIII. FMVs are fine, but the characters beside Squall and Rinoa need more development (even then I'd argue Rinoa doesn't get any development and is just a tool to develop Squall). Junction system can be improved by adding limitation to it so that we are not punished for junctioning and casting powerful spells, for instance we have 100 ultimas, we can lock at max 50 ultimas for junction, then we can use the rest of the ultimas. If it feels too restrictive, we can increase the max amount of magic to 200 or maybe even limitless that we can junction ultima to multiple attributes.

IX definitely deserves it more than any other. I loved it as a kid but couldn't imagine trying to play it now with the load times, random encounters and slow combat. Would love if these rumors finally came to fruition!

Could make FF6 a disc thing with 1 disc each has the world of balance and ruin on it.

I have absolutely adored FF7 remake as it was the first FF I ever played, FF9 though needs some treatment it holds a special place for me as was the first FF I ever owned myself. Fully agree it doesn't want quite the same treatment but I was seriously dubious about them changing 7 so much and honestly they proved me wrong so I am open to whatever ideas they have for 9 as well I would just love to see it.

You mentioned getting a group of people together to play through XI. Would that be brand new characters starting from scratch, or can people join in with what they currently have? I haven't played since Seekers of Adoulin came out and never got very far into it, but I really do miss the older expansions and have forgotten most of the story by now. Loved that game way back when and would love to experience it again with a group.

What are your thoughts on Dffoo shutting down?

I would love remakes of FF6, 9, 10, and 10-2 if they are still turn based.

❤ glad to hear you mention 11. As you said it kind of is getting one in the form of the upcoming raid in 14, and I can't help thinking they are doing that on purpose to gauge interest. I think the only reason they haven't linked the subscriptions is because 11 still to this day generates a LOT of revenue - it is the second highest grossing FF if all time after 14, which only overtook 11 a few years ago. As for the rest, agreed about 9, but I think 6 would heavily benefit from the same scope of remake as 7 (not necessarily the same themes) and I will scream until I am blue in the face that FFT would benefit so much from Last Remnant's combat system. Unit formations full squads rather than just individuals lead by Hero units and a morale system would add so much depth.

Really hoping for that FF Tactics remaster to become a reality before too long! And while not a Final Fantasy game, but related to FF Tactics, I'm praying that Vagrant Story gets a proper remaster/remake as well! FF6 remake is my dream game! But with all do respect, at this point I'm very much against the HD-2D treatment for FF6. With the Pixel Remaster, it's just not a big enough leap and it would essentially make the Pixel Remaster obsolete, so it makes little business sense. Also, given recent comments by Kitase when discussing the Pixel Remasters, there's pretty much 0% chance they will do an HD-2D remake of 6. It absolutely makes no sense at this point. I'm not saying it wouldn't have been cool--of course it would have, but if SE wanted to do an HD-2D remake they would have done it instead of the PR. I think it would be absolutely amazing to see FF6 fully in 3D. I want to see it and explore its world in a way that we've never seen before. There is such amazing potential!. Go big or go home! :)

FF11 facelift, let's go, thats the thing I want the most!

As excited as I would be to see IX or VIII as remakes... I'm not sure I actually want them. Cause I feel like they would be A-RPG, like FF7, 15, SoP, and so on. I have a little more hope now that I played through XVI and actually enjoyed the gameplay (I never liked any of their A-RPG since KH 1 & 2, so it had been a while) and I feel like japanese companies aren't really good when it comes to A-RPG in general. If it happens on one of those two I mentionned, I know I would play them for sure, but I'm not so sure about the fact that I'll like them. I'm a bit paradoxical, though, because if they do remakes, I'd rather them be different, like FF7 was, than just full blown copies with better graphics and smoothness to their gameplay. To sum it up, I guess I would love IX and VIII to get full blown remakes if and only if the gameplay system wasn't anything like FF7R or XV, cause I really disliked my experience as a whole (XV is actually the only main game I had and never finished cause I hated my time on it). And now that I think about it, yeah, I would enjoy a remake for VI with the same conditions. I would also be VERY interested in a XI offline to allow us to play through the game in a more modern settings and enjoy the story without having to play it. The game's a bit brutal for me, I'm gonna be honest. Strangely, though, XV was so chaotic as its core and I didn't enjoy it so much cause it was a mess, so I would be okay with a remake that polishes the story and the interactions between the characters, cause it really felt cringe and badly done on screen. But yeah, IX and VIII would clearly be my top picks.

I really love ff 6,8,9,10 and tactics. They all deserve a remake remastered. Tactics Looks really good i love the Charakter Design. I think the best way for Pixel rpg is a octopath traveler grafic style

So square Enix wants us to enjoy the original versions of the games, and we all want all the bonus content, I propose: why not both? Either have the selection at the beginning, OR, you have to beat the original version of the game, to unlock the bonus version on a second playthrough (with or without newgame+)

Very glad to see FFXI here. It's still incredibly good as-is, but it deserves a remake and continuation with new full-fledged expansions. At this point I've spent more time with FFXIV than FFXI but, after playing Adoulin for the first time last year, I honestly think FFXI is the better game overall. The UI just needs a massive overhaul to make it more user friendly.

Definitely Tactics and IX

Yasumi Matsuno just responded to someone's tweet yesterday about FFT Remaster, saying that there were currently no plans for a remaster :( My only hope is that he's being coy, and they're not remastering it but remaking it completely.

I would so be here for most of the remakes! I'm really rooting for the IX remake to come true and there's so many things pointing to that possibility! I agree that FFVI in 2D-HD would just be amazing! I could probably be happy with the BDII style as well, but I think the 2D-HD would bridge the gap the best.

FF9 remake would be everything to me, like you said though not in FF7 remake style. Other than 9 I personally would like an FF2 remake. Mainly because it is often seen as the black sheep and perhaps have the FF7 remake style or even a Stranger of Paradise like game, over its original. I just think seeing FF2's world and characters being bought forward in a new light would be cool.

Unpopular opinion, but I'd rather these titles not be remade at all. Current SE isn't the same developer it once was when these games were originally released, and I wouldn't trust this modern company to deliver experiences that matched or surpassed the original titles. SE has also shown in the past that their ports can be of lower quality than the original. In the example of FFT, War of the Lions for the PSP was released with slowdowns and frame drops that SE never bothered to correct, and the game would be borderline unplayable had the community not released a patch that corrected the slowdowns. SE would also undoubtedly release a FFT Remake in the same style as Octopath Traveller, and while the visuals for that game were once unique, SE has overused that visual style to the point that it has become tiresome to see. At this point, I honestly feel these titles are better off in the hands of the fans, who have proven that passion over complacency still exists with brilliant mods and fan projects that oftentimes take a full games' development cycle. FFT The Lion War, FF6 Tactics, FFXI Eden, and FFIX Project Memoria are just some examples that show the fans care for the FF franchise more than the developers in charge of the IP itself.

NO REMAKE OF 9. It's perfect the way it is. They ruined 7 when they remade it.
