These were amazing to watch. Loved the third guy working to grow fresh produce in a food desert which is a real threat to many places across the globe. Eating locally grown foods just seem to taste better 🙌❤
The Reverend really stuck home. I live in a small town within a rural-fringe locality. Although we have a nice market to purchase products I'm unaware of their origin as of now. The closest Farmers Market is even further into our largest town which is a solid twenty-minute drive from my home-town. I'd love to eat fresh local vegetables and fruits, but so far the options just aren't there...as far as I know.
Chinampas are a floating garden . They came out of the need to farm because Mexico City and the surrounding land is naturally swamp land there was very little solid earth to farm on
Here is what gets me about farming. Well these people flaunt organic blah blah blah it's all marketing. When we think about organics in the soil that's science. We can design an optimal soil structure and nutrient profile for a plant to get optimal yield. We can do it more efficient and cost effective if we see specialization. We reduce bulk waste and labour and energy by removing weeds and pests efficiently. The only reason these places exist is because some people want to pay 10,000 times what they should for something...
cooking is also a science, you can combine amounts of ingredients and flavours perfectly to create the best product or taste and it'll be the exact same every time, whether or mot the end product is liked or not is where subjectivity comes in
