SGC Really Screwed me Over with this one, These are some of my highest end cards and they were graded very poorly. In this order there was some WIllie Mays, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan and even Mickey Mantle so this was a big order
Well every single card you showed was off center to some degree and several you can see the slight yellowing on nearly every white bordered card. You can see damage on the Jordan Spark Plug. Also on the chrome cards you are probably confusing scratches with the chrome roller marks. You didn't even say Patrick Roy's name correctly. Get your eyes checked.
10 min in.. gonna finish this vid because I love seeing cards and grade reveals. with that said, ty for sharing your authentic reactions here. I haven't read any comments so maybe somebody has already said it - the Reggie that got a 7.5 has tilted centering where that Rice does not. also the top for centering is pretty thin relative to it's opposite bottom edge. and the Bird has a really huge off centered white border where the Payton you compared it to does not. and the Roy.. was pretty easy to spot the btm left and upr rt corners as being dinged. do you look at your cards under a 10 loupe magnifier before setting your expectations?
follow up as I watched the 2nd half. I like videos like these because they help me know what to expect when making submissions. I honestly didn't see anything that I found to be egregious. I don't think the problem these cards had was centering, it was corners and possibly edges. I even went to SGC's site to look at a couple.. the Mays 6 they got right, IMO. the card has some browning and all 4 corners are ever so slightly touched. 6 seems right. I also looked at the Brady that got an 8 and I don't see what you're seeing w/ the corners.. none of them look bad at all.. sharp, in my opinion. sorry, but it seems they got most of these right.
Just some helpful advice, complaining about grading without both 1) at the very least using a well lighter source with a magnifying glass 2) a centering measuring tool, your missing a lot, don't eyeball and complain because you'll have no idea how much you miss or how off centered a card really is..
On the Jordan it’s mostly the centering and then probably something you didn’t see. Yeah the Bird centering is pretty bad, but there must be something else going on for it to get a 5.
You honestly said it yourself.. “I just don’t know what they’re seeing.” And I don’t think you do. Not trying to be a jerk but you’re comparing these like they’re all the same. Each card is unique, you can’t just compare centering on two cards and complain based off of that. SGC knows what they’re doing and they didn’t screw you in your whole submission on a whim. I think you were unrealistically dreaming big dreams on these and got your spirits crushed. Haha
Dude really?? you think you got robbed on the grading ? They put those cards under a microscope they see defects you can’t see with the naked eye… plus the cards are older.. anything above an 8 is good for those cards….plus you can always resubmit them
