I think this is why European players are taking over the league. In the Euro league the way the rules are and how they officiate games benefits team play and great defense and I think the farther the game progresses the game will be almost fully run by euro hoopers unless this whole highlight hooping thing can get cracked down on.

Working at the stadium has made me realize how sorry I feel for the fans sometimes... some of them come in so happy and hopeful and leave with such disappointment. It's sad.
What did they expect? This isn't sad it's funny asf 🤣 If I was a Houston fan I wouldn't waste my time or money to watch them play. Just wait til they get better
as a Houston native, this video hurt but the amount of truth is undeniable... the rockets have been fumbling the ball for YEARS and I fear they will never fix the problems the have in the front office. Hopefullythey can build Jalen Green into the SS we all know he can be, or another team definitely will
If you wait to late to fix bad habits you jus end up solidifying that onto them it's why Kevin Knox never panned out and why Westbrook has so many bad tendencies teams like this need to teach these players how to win
There used to be a player in the NBA named World B. Free (aka Lloyd). Free would absolutely light the league up as he had a terrific nose for the basket and one of the best jumpers for that era. There was around a 10 year stretch where he averaged over 22ppg every season. But he wasn't at all well regarded by the NBA and his teams were often terrible. He was a gunner. Didnt Matter the situation, if Free got the ball, he was shooting it. Didnt matter if he was 1 on 1, or 1 on 4, he was taking that ball and trying to score no matter the situation. He never made teammates better. He never made teams better and he bounced all over the league with the very worst teams the league had to offer. That's who Jaylen Green reminds me of, World B Free.
Not a basketball fan primarily but I appreciate the game. So much of what you say translates to football (soccer). Kids played for the live of it back in the day, but because of social media and traditional media, people have seen it can lead to a lifestyle, so now everything is geared towards achieving that lifestyle and being "the star". It's a shame as we lose so much of what made us love our respective sports in the first place
Ehh I'd still say it's nowhere near to this level in football. Mainly because basketball has always been sport dominated by individuals. From Wilt, Bill Russell and Kareem, to Magic, Bird and Jordan and finally Kobe, LeBron and KD. Yes it used to be more team oriented but in a sport where there's only 5 players on each team a superstar or what would we call in football a world class player is worth way more. In fact, I've heard arguments that football has gone the other way at least in terms of the actual sport (putting aside the lifestyle and social media etc.), with way less superstars who would stand out in quality and more just really good players who fit systems that top coaches like Pep, Klopp, Ancelotti, etc. organise. If anything is ruining football is the greed of the owners and the executives who have sold our football and are slowly turning it into American sports with too high ticket prices, constant advertisement and unsatiable greed.
Thank you, I've been saying this for years now. Its all about image now I saw a video the other day some guy judging players outfits on the court.. play the game who cares what you look like or how many followers you'll gey from a dunk. It's a sad world we have now unfortunately.
4:05 the thing about the "foreign bigs" is that in these other professional leagues, fundamentals, playmaking, and strategy are far more emphasized, in part because more physical defense is allowed. In many ways it is more stylistically enjoyable than the NBA, even if the top end talent is clearly not the same. That's part of the reason why Luka is so next-level, and to a lesser extent, why guys like Ricky Rubio became masterful playmakers.
Partially correct, fundamentals, playmaking and strategy are far more emphasized to make up for their lack of athleticism. Example: Luka/Jokic are naturally limitless skilled players but one of the most unathletic stars the game has never seen, then you have Giannis, one of the greatest freak of natures we've seen but had to work more relentlessly to improve his skills throughout the years, which he still lacks to an extent.
@@swed8506 That doesn’t make sense because the lack of athleticism isn’t isolated to one European team. So why would they be trying to cover a deficiency that most teams suffer for based on your claim.
@@SD-kw2bn it makes perfect sense when you realize I'm comparing the average nba player to an average player in the euros and not all european players can play at the highest level in the nba and most of them struggle to play defense in the United States. Kinda like how guys who aren't even good enough for the G League are stars wherever they go when they play overseas. An average player overseas doesn't even compare to average players in the NBA. The talent is what seperates both levels. But you have guys like Luka and Jokic who excel in every aspect on the offensive end but get burned whoever they guard. Their offense makes up for it, and they are only some of the few. There's levels to the game
@@swed8506 That would mean good defense is synonymous with athleticism which we know not to be the case. Uses cases like Luka and Jokic, can be easily countered with individuals like Marc Gasol, Rudy Gobert who are the opposite high skilled defenders but not first options on offense. There aren’t many players in general who play both ends of the court successfully at a level we’re they considered first options. One could even argue Luka and Jokic suffer defensively cuz they carry the offense burden of there teams. Luka has another first option guard so I’m curious to how his game will now develop.
Why do people think the Cavs were willing to get rid of KPJ for nothing? Look at the Cavs team. Top defense in the league, passing, effort, chemistry and a culture. I'm glad you mentioned our team. KPJ had anger problems, was ego driven and bad for the culture. He wants to look cool at the expense of being a winner

@ilovekaine well that’s why I said y’all just started being a good organization because as a major Lebron fan y’all’s front office sold Lebron in his first stint so it’s not like the Cavs have always been this top tier of a front office
I saw an interview recently where Jalen Green was talking about how as a rookie he made other rookies do tasks for him like carrying his bags, and it really struck me as a sign that the Rockets didn’t have the culture to develop young players. Giving someone in their rookie season that much power over the locker room is a bad idea because it makes that guy feel like he’s the man, when no rookie is when they first start off. You should have to earn your way to that position. The Rockets need either a veteran presence in the locker room or a stronger coach to lay down the law.
Bruno Sundov and Zydrunas Ilgauskas said that Lebron was making coffee and bringing them Donuts as a rookie while already being way better than them, thats one of the reasons Lebron learned.
Been a Hornets fan since 1992 and I can tell you that the Hornets problems aren’t Lamelo. Lamelo’s problem is actually ownership and management. Miles Bridges was definitely a huge set back in the offseason but the coaching situation was equally as bad. Kenny Adkinson left after just a day of being announced as the head coach. They really should have opened up the wallet and went after D’Antoni. He may have never won a championship but he turned both Steve Nash and James Harden into super stars and brought in tons of money for the organization because the team was always on tv and selling out games. He could have done the same thing with Lamelo and the Hornets. I love my hornets but they are horribly mismanaged. As a super casual NBA fan this was such a great video to get a better analysis on the Rockets, and how I should look at teams going forward. I mainly watch my team and then some random games in between but I would love to keep seeing videos like this from you. Great storytelling and you didn't drag it out too long. Keep it up 🔥
As a non casual nba fan, I would recommend you disregard the points made in this video. He manipulates stats in an attempt to prove his narrative. The problem with statistics such as bpm is role is not accounted for. Jalen green has a -2 bpm because he is a 2nd year guard( guards are always less efficient especially when young based on shots they shoot being further from the rim)and is the expected to fulfill the offensive role in Stephen Silas( the rockets coach) offense which was built for players like James harden and Luka. He also does not mention that great shooting guards such as Kobe Bryant and devin booker posted similar bpm in their 2nd year while also having a much smaller role. This is why I would never advise RU-vid or social media as a source of information. They pick a subject and then find information to back it up instead of reasearching and then making a conclusion. Good day.
Hopefully Udoka can coach these young men into real ball players because we could definitely do some serious damage once they start to mature their feel for the game, excited for amen thompson and cam whitmore too!!
Just a comment about the sengun. I saw in a comment where someone said that the reason the European players seem to be exceeding expectations and play better basketball is because of how they’re taught the game. In America, we have a “highlight culture” where from a young age we have the mixtapes of these kids doing the hesi crossover stepbacks that boost them to stardom and put them in the position in the draft. In Europe they have a culture that still promotes teaching their kids to play fundamental basketball.
We need a young player from the US with strictly strong fundamentals to make it cool sadly, and this dude gotta go viral from beating a highlight culture player with only fundamentals and clamps
The fact that the league looks negatively at players that are anything but one and done or sophomores entering the draft contributes to the lack of skill players entering the league from the states. Still, Jokic, Doncic and Giannis are exceptions, not the norm. I don’t see a surplus of Euro guards taking over the league.
Even Kobe learned to play off the ball, and he ALWAYS put the effort in on defense. Guys like these only see like 30% of the game...the parts that give them personal glory.
@@jamesonedwardsii4943 well, when I point out that he played more (& more effectively) off the ball, it's normally in response to ppl who accuse him of ball-hogging & playing keep-away from his teammates while he did all the ballhandling & shooting (basically accusing him of playing the way Harden played in Houston). Those of us who watched closely enough know better...was he more that way the couple years Phil (& the triangle) was gone? Yes. But with its return, Kobe now got to experience running it from the MJ position, with plenty of post-work that he was almost never able to do with Shaq around. And truth be told, Kobe was better playing off the ball. Had he not starting incurring ALL the catastrophic injuries to his shooting hand/fingers & rt. shoulder, we would have seen Kobe at his most efficient. His FG% & 3 pt % both took a serious dip in '09-10, & with the exception of '12-13, those numbers were on a steady decline the rest of his career, with lower numbers than he'd ever posted BY FAR, esp. when he added the achilles/knee/rotator cuff injuries. I thought he should have retired after the achilles in '13. It would have been a great season to call it quits on: 27.3 pts, 5.6 reb, 6 ast, .463 FG%, singlehandedly dragged the dogging Lakers from on the verge of elimination from playoff contention to a freight train close to pull them into the 8th spot with the win on the night he did the achilles. Legendary stuff. But he just believed that he could hard-work his injuries into submission & win that 6th title...& posted some horrific numbers in t h e process of learning about his mortality. I honestly think if he HAD retired in 2013, he would be a more viable candidate for all-time top 5. I'm a Kobe guy & I have him at 6 or 7 depending on how I feel that day. 1) wilt, 2) MJ, 3) Kareem, 4tie) Jerry West & 4tie) LeBron, 6) Larry Bird, 7) Kobe, 8) Magic, 9) Hakeem Olajuwon,10tie) Timmy, &10tie) B. @@jamesonedwardsii4943 BTW, LeBron has always been pretty much the way he is now: ball in his hands making the offensive decisions, no real PG, a lot of guys spotting up @ the 3 pt line waiting for LeBron to pass. It's why people say playing with LeBron tends to hurt the careers of certain guys (specifically C. Bosh & K. Love, PFs who both had real post presence--esp. KL, both high post for passing & low post for putting in work, 26 & 13.5, 26 & 15 in 2 of his last 3 yrs in Minn.). But they both have said they have no regrets for having to do that to win a title(s), so... Anyway, yeah, even Miami had already featured a lot of just hand the ball to D. Wade on a 1-4 set, let him go to work, even before LeBron came along. And you remember "Iso Joe" Johnson, right? @@ignoblesavage5559 I vaguely read over your responses I’ll read them In full later maybe but 1. Kobe played off ball most of his career….. he had too to play in the triangle and be effective with Shaq. He only became the focal point after Phil left and during a stretch where his teammates were terrible. 2. LeBron hasn’t always been ball dominant the way he is now. His first two years in the league he did in fact play of the ball on designed pin downs, curls and back door lobs BUT he became more ball dominant as to not ignore his passing ability and actually brought in the era where everyone was looking for ball handling wings.
As a Pistons fan, I really hope my team doesn’t ever have a situation like this. Professional basketball went through this same cycle in the 1970's and sunk itself in such a low that the league was in danger of ceasing to exist with little public interest or popularity. Players weren't thinking of team play and only wanted to exist on the court so they could shine and be stars regardless if their teams were winning or losing.

That's the problem with Tanking teams. You don't just tell your players "go out there and lose" and then expect to somehow turn that around in a second. Not to mention there's always the next shiny prospect this year it's Victor so they're actively trying to lose to get Victor. Next year it will be someone else.

The NBA is a league that suffers from the incompetence of those in charge of it. Not enough preemptive problem solving, not enough resolve. There are several pages the NBA ought to take out of Hockey's book. One, is its development infrastructure. But also the amount of minutes starters play in games, which in the NBA's case is excessive, and contributes to late season fatigue and injuries. Bottom line is, NBA officials should never even consider a decision that doesn't provide some benefit to the league. One recent example is the proposal of lowering the draft age eligibility. A move that would do nothing but hinder the league and its scouting department. What was the impetuous behind the idea? Because there are poor kids out there who need money, and just so happen to play Basketball. My case in point. A demonstration of NBA officials bending to the media, or the opinion of some sports Journalist. Something that as professionals in their field, they should never even give a second thought towards. Another idiotic, senseless move was evening out the lottery odds. Why do teams tank? Because they aren't good enough. So the NBA's solution was to make it even more difficult for them to aquire new young talent in the only way possible given the leagues cap restrictions. There other examples i could give that pertain to the rules of the game itself, and how they should be improved. Two are; the elimination of the 3 point line and a 30 second shot clock. The 3 line rewards shooting over athleticism, and the current shot clock often 'forces' plays, causing alot of errors and turnovers. Easy fixes that never get fixed.
They need to run their offense through Sengun, he’s shown flashes of Jokic and Sabonis. He has great footwork, traditional post play center, but he has great vision and passing. With actual coaching and discipline there’s no reason they aren’t on the same level as the thunder in terms of growth.
Another thing about the Cavs. They get the importance of vets around the young players. We talked about the fundamentals in the Euro league.... it just so happens the Cavs have Ricky Rubio, Neto on the bench and Jose Calderon in the front office. We are making sure our young guys like Garland and Okoro learn the FUNDAMENTALS. Watching Ricky on the court is just magical and it's no surprise he mentored Donovan as well
You are right, but winning doesn’t necessarily correlate with selling tickets. Teams will get players that produce output and with a powerful brand (social media clout) than a player who wants to win the NBA finals. The fans wants a championship, but owners want consistent ticket sales.

Highlight culture has ruined basketball in the US. The media exposure that these young guys experience spoils their egos and stunts their growth, making these players think that they're better than they actually are. They just stop developing and working on their game in the process , whereas European and overseas prospects don't have the same distractions, which is why they're running the league now. Americans are just too spoiled.
In 10 years by now, the league is gonna be dominated by foreigners. American players are focused on stats and highlights then winning and being competitive
@@chuyozuna2398 I'll agree if these foreign players are black. Foh they're investing in Africa Which is five times bigger than the us. No matter what if anything the league will be blacker than ever. If the love of basketball catches up with soccer it's a wrap.
Kind of crazy how boring highlight hooping has gotten in such a short amount of time. When I was a kid (I’m 26 now) that’s all you wanted to see but now it’s pretty monotonous to lock eyes on one guy for a whole possession over and over again throughout the game
In fairness if Jalen didn’t get pick by the rockets and they took one of the other guys, wouldn’t they just be in the same situation as Green is now? If Green gets drafted by the Cavs or Raptors his career would be totally different, especially in Toronto with a team full of Vets.
GREAT CONTENT! I love how you equipped every point with stats. Also it was very nostalgic when you said growing up kids hooped for love of the game not for a mixtape or to show off their outfits before games. I'm not a older person that hates on the younger generation but I wanted to play like the winners. Bigs shooting 3s has truly cheated the fans out of seeing good basketball play. There has been scattered Bigs that could shoot, yet now its a MUST that a big can stretch the floor smh.
Ah yes.... Nothing more exciting than *checks notes * Bigs not moving the ball in or out of the post, burning the whole shot clock and jacking up a bad 12 footer. Like I get it but the NBA is more athletic and conceptually complex than it ever has been at the top end of the League, so naturally watching teams executing it badly is just as boring. It was the same in the 90s when most jumpers were just trash 18 footers. The defence was a bit better but that's about all you can lean on. The issue with this Houston team is that their overall scoring talent right now is essentially trash, outside of the 2 we are clowning on and there is only one guy you want getting more shots with Sengun. The culture is obviously trash but offensively, aside from the volume and efficiency of 3-ball attempts which is kind of egregious, who else do you want taking more shots? It's a bad team, and bad teams ain't busting their asses on the other end to make the play when they are already getting spanked.

Ive watched every Houston game this season and I agree with a lot of your points however the narrative that Jalens a selfish player is so off he is one of the only guys that consistently passes to Al P and if he can’t score in 3-5 seconds gives the ball up. Ever since KPJs been out we’ve see he’s he doesn’t care about his numbers it’s actually been frustrating how passive he’s been at times

If Houston manages to draft Wembanyama, I can't imagine that working out with this current roster. Green nor Porter are passing the rock lol. We already see Segun getting scraps with them on the court. Speaking of, with Green out, the Rockets played better team ball with Sengun as the focal point. Won a few games and were competitive in losses. Soon as him and Porter got back, straight decimation lol.

The west is so wide open anyone could, but these guys wanna tank so bad, they just said eff it. Like somehow if they get that big center, everything was worth it. Now they have to actually play and the team while good will still need to develop.
if we do draft wembanyama, i will be extremely annoyed. everyone’s acting as if he wasn’t putting up average numbers in america, then all of a sudden he goes back to the french league against much weaker competition and he’s considered the #1 pick. in my opinion, we package whatever pick we land, jalen green and a few other pieces and get a pass-first vet and a few other players that have been in the league for a while that can help develop sengun and bari. jalen is a lost cause. terrible attitude, doesn’t care about winning, doesn’t even like being a part of the franchise which is something i don’t want to see on my team. sick of it.
another thing is wembanyama is another young big that we don’t need. we NEED to draft scoot OR amen thompson. i don’t want to see anyone else drafted apart from those two
Great video. My buddy and I talk about this almost daily. The Houston Rockets and Charlotte Hornets are exactly what the MIXTAPE, AAU, SOCIAL MEDIA NBA product will eventually look like and it’s NOT A GOOD PRODUCT. The love for the game has diluted with guys with LESS SKILLS making MORE MONEY then EVER BEFORE. The league has peaked.
This was a great breakdown on how the game has changed since i was young. I see the love lost but maybe the game isn’t targeted to me. It’s about the young kids and in due time the love of the game will comeback. We just aren’t in the love era right now. It’s a job. The game is still fairly new to the world. So give it time. Love this page btw
man this even trickles down to playing ball at the park on a tuesday. so many guys flailing on 360 layups into double coverage instead of making a good play. 99% of basketball isn’t highlight worthy but it’s still worthwhile if you actually love the game more than you need the external validation from looking cool.
Social media definitely impacted the way the game is played. If you go viral, you can be more of a star than other players who are wayyy better. But the game just evolves. There’s an older generation of players who thought the crossover was a carry. There’s another generation that thinks there’s too much shooting. The game will evolve inevitably
@@thelastmanonearth2631 that’s part of the evolution tho. Mikey Williams is a prime example. Got a $15MM Puma deal while in HS. Not cause he’s ranked no 1, but because on social media he’s a king. That’s historic (evolution). Young players are taking control of their own market share. But it does ruin the fundamentals of how team nba ball should be played.
And we will inevitably sit before the throne of Jesus Christ for our eternal judgement You can only condemn yourself by rejecting Jesus and His Truth. Do you even truly know it? Tomorrow isn't promised to anyone. Seek Him while He may still be found. The One True Living God of all Creation 🙌✝️🕊️🎺
These stupid high salaries have been ruining the league for 30 years. All the players are homies, plus there's no loyalty on either side. Why would a player really care about championships when he's gonna make $45mil no matter what? The goal now is to pad your stats during the season to get a max contract. Hopefully you get one more, then you cruise til you retire. Then in your final years, suddenly they start chasing titles too no one wants them.
I agree with almost everything you said. There are too many players today that focus too much on the highlights and too little on actually winning and that translates to the media and the fans. I get that in this era the public image matters al lot, but it feels insane that lots of people argue that players like Jalen Green, Kevin Porter Jr or Jordan Poole are better players that Tyrese Haliburton, Cj McCollum or Khris Middleton (I’m looking at you, Gilbert Arenas).
Cosign. Haliburton is a fringe MVP level player who has lifted a basic squad up out of nothing. CJ has proven that though he's not as flashy as Dame, he's more conducive to a winning culture. Khris Middleton, though their games aren't necessarily similar, is the closest thing to a Scottie Pippen, in terms of how he make his lead dog better and fill in the gaps. Green, Porter, and Poole are jokes, no wonder Arenas likes them.
I’ve found even as a fan I’ve been swept up in the energy of “highlight player” culture. When Portland drafted Anfernee Simmons, I watched his highlights and was so hyped to see this dude ball out, but for his first few years Portland played him only here and there. Obviously now, he’s become so well rounded and a dependable player and second option, but that wouldn’t have happened if they just threw him out there and started throwing him lobs lol
i think it might have something to do with where the player is from, i’m from europe and here it’s still just people playing basketball for fun and the ones that are really good pursuing a high level which would explain all the young european stars that aren’t covered compared to the american kids growing up trying to make mix tapes
I'm 47 and I haven't watched basketball that much in the last few years. I grew up loving it, I'm getting back into it now. This video seemed to be well done. This form of hoops is not my thing but I'm trying to get into it. I bet the game will change again and hopefully go back to being gritty.
I feel like the league will continue to be less physical and hyper offensive but it will get to a point where fans absolutely hate it and they’ll be forced to change.
Jalen at the start of the year said they are a couple years away. Melo also said he feels their a big man away from turning it around. Melo rookie contract coming up, this is when we'll see what he's about. As for Jalen, it depends if he wants to be the main guy or play a role. His attitude screams first option, so unless KPJ or Sengun take a 2nd 3rd role it won't work.
This is a very good video. I feel like the Pelicans were trending towards this when they traded Jrue but they kind of shifted their philosophy. Play fast and free on offense and swarm to the ball on defense. It's still a work in progress but they are on their way if Zion can stay relatively healthy.
I think a big contributing factor to this is how the coaches just let them go out and get buckets while they are young and don’t have much help around them. Just to see what all they can and can’t do. They are young and trying to develop. Everyone tried to say dbook was just empty stats too until he got some actual help around him.
A lot more players now play for the highlights instead of the championship. Especially with all the rising talent teams are encouraged to lose to get higher picks.
Dude your commentary is A1. Spot on, unbiased, calm and enthusiastic at the same time. Reminds me of videogamedunkey when he does his reviews. Bless your content.
Great analysis...Sengun is hella special...Rockets really should try playing thru Sengun...at the very least he can pass/distribute and make plays...Green and KPJ can still score all they want as long as they don't do the primary ball handling
What you said about kids growing up being different nowadays is so damn true. So much AAU, training camps, constant practicing, etc. It’s not just about living Basketball anymore
Yup, as a kid I played ball about 8 hours a day, almost all of which was just hooping at the playground with other kids. I played in the UK national league and we only practiced 3 times a week, played 1 game a week on a saturday or sunday. Now, the kids play organised ball (mostly practice sessions) every single day and they barely ever just play for the love of playing.
I’ve been thinking about this - more-so with Melo because he’s more of a star than the rockets players. I think a lot of players are just content to collect cheques, be social media stars and there’s nothing OVERTLY wrong with that - particularly with how some of these teams build poorly and keep players in poor situations - however I think we’re gonna see two kinds of players emerge in this league… the Jimmy Butlers (regardless of talent, they work hard) and the Ben Simmons (content to sit on their laurels that their physical gifts have given them).
Melo shouldn’t even be mentioned ANYWHERE in this video. There’s MORE proof that he wants to win than he doesn’t. Prior to the season he was drafted, the Hornets were 23-42. The year he was drafted they went 33-39. His 2nd season they went 43-39. His 3rd season, which was this season, the Hornets were 27-55 in which he only played 36 of them due to injuries. The Hornets were on an upward trend in their record, however because of their loss of Miles Bridges and Lamelo missing more than half the season, their record dropped by a significant amount
I think they’re still young so they just need a little more time to fine tune their game. That being said they also need an OG to get that situation under control.
They sorta look like they’re going in the right direction now. They’ve got ime udoka who coached the Celtics to the finals and vanvleet who can hopefully help Jalen green. Dillon Brooks going there scares me tho.
While I agree it isn’t Silas’ fault, he needs to go. If you watch the games he has lost his locker room entirely. Sucks especially since the front office will probably do the same thing again
An European coach used to say that if you do not show certain stuff by 20-21, your will never have it. I think that the mistake of developing young Talents like this is that Ball or the Houston guys will be 23-24 soon, and they will never had played defense or executed correctly on offense or being forced to do the stuff they are not great at so a teammate can shine. And at that point, they will not able to learn how to do that without investing 5-6 seasons more into that. And these teams will end up having wasted 10 years
did he forget the part where houston got the nets future in the harden trade? whether they draft someone or trade those picks in a package for players, they have value
Thank God that's not where Wemby is going now. Coach Pop is going to mould Wemby into an offensive beast like he did with Parker, Ginobili, Duncan, Robinson, Kawhi, the list goes on...
as a rockets fan, i think jalen n kpjs biggest problems is they all think they’re james harden. if jalen was more confident and focused during games he could absolutely be james harden and so could kpj but like you said they want highlights. only issue i have with this video is that you compared us to the cavs which is fair at face value but in 2020-21 the cavs had been rebuilding since 2019 and we had been competing since 2016 so their rebuild started much earlier, but overall great video 💯
This is what I hate most about the tanking culture, because there is a value in being decent. Too many teams now trade away all their decent players to tank for picks, but then those picks get in and immediately get handed the keys. No team culture, no influential vets, no system, because the whole system got traded away to hopefully draft a superstar. That is why I love the Heat, they have continuity, a culture and even kept Udon for locker room influence and even though they don't have the superstar, they are always good.
