I would love to see a video about how to equip a keto pantry. All the different sweetener types are confusing and when to use what. Plus different flours etc! Help! it would be nice too to give low cost options...these specialty items add up. Just a humble request.
I really like all your recipes and ideas, one of the best keto diet programs as far as I am concerned. Let me make a suggestion when it comes to using Greek yogurt. If you can locate a Middle Eastern grocery store or any Indian markets look for LABNE which is a Kefir cheese /yogurt made with draining whey from slightly salted yogurt. The outcome is very thick extra creamy delicious yogurt. It has 6 grams of Fat, 2 Carbs zero added sugar and zero fiber in 2 TBSP.
Eating low carb fruits and vegetables makes me feel better, too. And it makes it more sustainable for me. I'm definitely going to try most of these recipes!
I'm seeing a lot of cottage cheese foods now as well. I need items that replace the mass market counterparts. For example, taco shells, tortilla shells. Other icecreams...anything chocolate that doesn't taste crappy. I use organic liquid stevia in my coffee or ice tea and it's very good.

I make strawberry ice cream with frozen strawberries, I scoop vanilla protein powder and a little milk - Amt depending on how thick or creamy you want it. Tastes amazing.
Erythritol is known to give diarrhea and nausea and yes it does and no it doesn't always go away. Besides having a weird taste. More and more research is leaning towards the idea that artificial sweeteners aren't good for your gut. In fact a couple of them actually raise your blood sugar.
Just wanted to check in and say how very lovely you look. I've followed your recipes for years, and been off and on the net for about 8 month (?) Anyway, when looking back at your earlier videos, I can actually see your transformation. I'm KETO too, and got my hubby on board about a year ago. I hope I end up looking as nice as you do! (your skin is like porcelain, I love it :) )
The chocolate coated frozen yogurt bars > the only sweetener is the chips? Or the yogurt is sweetened? Cause it seems a whole lot easier to just add stuff into some yogurt and enjoying that.
@@lauram.511 I'm not sure. I saw it on a post on another group. They posted the label. I searched it on Walmart website because they show the ingredient list, but it may not be the new one. Stores sometimes have a backstock of an item. From what I see here, and I think I saw on the other post is mostly they changed the oil. The longer bags seemed to be the same, but the smaller bags showed that they use "hydrogenated vegetable oil, palm kernel oil, and soybean oil, and soy" in the peanut butter flavored chips. Soy is the most mucus forming food on the planet, and we all know vegetable oil is bad. I don't remember which of the chocolate ones it was, but one had "soluble corn fiber". Corn is also not Keto.
I have a bag in front of me from Thrive, reading the ‘Lily’s Dark chocolate style baking chips’ (that’s the name on bag) there is Erythritol, chicory root fiber, soluble corn fiber , isomalt, cocoa, cocoa butter, blend of palm kernel and palm oils, less than 2% stevia extracts lecithin (sunflower), natural flavors
Yes, I believe I said not all of their bags have changed. Some have soy, which is bad. And although most of the ingredients you just listed are ok, I don't thick soluable corn fiber is keto because nothing 'corn' is keto. I just make my own chocolate chips. It's easy. But if you like Lily's, go for it. No judgement here. ginger@@surely569
I think I would substitute mayo for the hard-boiled eggs in the chocolate smoothie; that would make it creamy and doesn't seem as weird, even though mayo is made from eggs. 😂
😆😆😆... Yep I don't think that could ever taste good. You can just make no turn ice cream and just substitute the sugar with like allylose or whichever sugar substitute you like. There's some recipes that just use milk and like two more things with sugar so just substitute the sugar. I believe they use heavy cream and those recipes are good
I don’t get the cottage cheese taste hate. It doesn’t taste like anything but milk, I could understand if people complained about the texture but you are blending it!
There’s been recent research to show that we need way more protein than recommended. 70grams a day is not enough. Also some studies have shown that the body doesn’t start to convert protein to sugar until like 50-60 grams of protein is consumed in one sitting (one meal). I plan on doing a video on this in a few months once I dive into all the research. I usually stick with 30-40 grams per meal.
@@baguibaguisshe's definitely right. I never get less than 130 g a day and aim for more like 150. If you're more active and lift, you may need more than that but that's a pretty good baseline.
Instead of using hard boiled eggs, you can use freshly cracked eggs. The eggs which are freshly cracked will incorporate the air to help thicken the “Ice Cream’.
LMNT IS HIGH SODIUM!!! If im on high blood pressure pills, wouldn’t 1000 mg of sodium be a bit high!! Its the highest sodium ratio I’ve seen so far for electrolytes and scared as hell to try LMNT because of this and i get dehydrated all the time and need something but uhhhh 1000mg sodium or whatever the acronym is following 1000
I like this dessert Annie cuz it offer variety by using peaches and the polyphenols and vitamin and minerals that we don't always get just eating berries. Love it! You rock!
I’ve been using hard boiled eggs in my morning smoothies as well. Ditto natural peanut butter, cocoa powder and greek yogurt. I’ve always used frozen spinach, but never thought about using cauliflower. I get a box of peanut butter and chocolate keto bars at Costco. I throw one into my smoothie. Low carb and 9 gms of protein. Tried the cottage cheese ice cream, even using my immersion blender to really mix. Wasn’t a fan. The peanut buster bar definitely sounds intriguing . Going to try that one.
Except real Buster Bars have that layer of chocolate cookies and hot fudge. I bet Annie could come up with a real dupe that includes that wonderful layer!
I like the idea of cottage cheese ice cream. My instant recipe without freezing is: take soft full fat cheese and frozen raspberries. Approximately 2 to 1 cheese raspberries ratio. Blend the raspberries to smal cristals mix it with the soft cheese, add some stevia. And ready! The soft cheese freezes instantly up when it mixes with the raspberry Cristal’s. You can adjust the firmness of the ice by changing the amount of frozen raspberries. For some reason, perhaps the cell structure, it only works well with raspberries. I tried other berries for instance blackberries and that does not work.
Its true. They are able to hide it under "natural flavors" when that ingredient is used under a certain percent. You can email them and ask for yourself or you can google it. There are articles about it.
I used to always add a raw egg into my milkshakes to thicken it; egg yolks are an amazing emulsifier. To make your mousse thicker, try gelatin, or mix in whipped egg whites, or both.
Annie, I wonder if adding hard boiled eggs to the cottage cheese mousse would thicken it? It would sure add more protein. Thanks for the High Protein dessert ideas!
