As a fellow Scandinavian, my interpretation is that some "patriots" make their nationality so integral to their identity that they forget their nationality is actually represented by a real world country of other human beings. Basically, their ego completely consumes their perception of reality.

Extreme rugged individualism is contrary to national unity, but the right has successfully made rugged individualism a national symbol. There is a minor point to be made in that during the extraction we could (And depending who you ask, should) have basically bricked things on the way out. I believe most adoptees are foster kids who were permanently housed (or adopted abroad) but thres a really disgusting trend that parents who want to adopt cause "the parents or family might want to be reunited with them" so fundamentally it is about ownership. The way adoption works is literally like shopping, it's disgusting. There's literally a picture catalog you choose from and you fill out a form telling them what RACE and gender and age you prefer. White children cost more, the darker a child statistically the longer they will stay unadopted. Prople only want babies, and they want blue eyed babies at that, so they can feel like their own and can't be" reclaimed " it honestly turns my stomach. If you wanted to love a child you wouldn't care about superficial qualities. The adoption system you speak of I think is the norm throughout Europe. In Spain at least it's anonymous, you get a child of whatever race or age and should love them because you wanted to complete your family...If you "send it back" you are punished with a fine I believe and never allowed to adopt again.
