Every crash/collapse/inflation/recession provides an equal market opportunity if you are properly prepared and knowledgeable. I've seen people amass up to $800,000 during crises and even with ease in a bad economy. Someone has undoubtedly become extremely wealthy as a result of the crash.

its also quite annoying that both Sunak and Hunt keep referring to a drop in inflation as being the same as a tax cut.

At the beginning of COVID I struggled to spend the minimum £40 order for my Tesco delivery, now three and a half years on we don't eat as well, but struggle to keep the weekly spend under £60. Bringing inflation back down to 2% will not make my weekly food bill £40 again.

Politicians are like that guy in the office who doesn’t really do anything special but has un exhaustive self confidence in themselves and know how to self-promote beyond their skill level.

Production value is good and you are investing in that with your video editor, but it is good content and timely content that has me sending clips to my mates when they ask me stuff. Scary times, but channels like yours are giving analysis where the main players are just re hashing press releases.

Great work as usual Damien. If I got the data right, the inflation drop is due mostly to energy prices drop, which are influenced by the market. However, the rising housing cost (like rents and mortgages) that area also affecting inflation are a direct consequence of BOE decision of raising rates. So the BOE says that they are rising rates to kick inflation out of the front door, but as a side (?) effect they are bringing it back from the window with the rise in OOH. Am I right? PS: I am Italian and I like Cheddar, but Parmesan is overall better 😜

Hi Damien, Thanks for getting this out so quick! What are people’s thoughts on what happens next? If owner occupiers housing costs increases as a consequence of higher interest rates it feels like inflation will go up but BoE can’t increase further as then that further increases housing costs inflation. How do you beat this cycle? Lower interest rates? Do nothing for 2-3 years Frustrating that the US doesn’t have this issue due to 30 year mortgages.

Thanks for picking this up. Unfortunately we have leadership that will do anything to make themselves look better. It's not just economy its almost every aspect of governance. Education, housing, NHS, etc This generation of leaders from both main parties are in politics for their own gains and that's it! They will deflect the main issues by blaming the boat people and other external conflicts.

It's important to remember energy costs have a longer term effect on the sticky performance of core inflation figures. They respond less quickly as businesses look ahead. I'm expecting a surprising fall in core figures next time, despite (importantly) yet another increase in mortgage costs.
