I swear I could go missing for a few days just to catch some sleep... 😴 Who would be the first one to notice you're gone? Where would they look first? If you need me, you can find me in bed. Zzz Zzz Zzz Zzz 😴
I'm so antisocial sometimes I could go missing and no one would notice for like at least 4 days. And then it'd be my parents wondering why I'm not answering my phone 😂
Just to clarify, if you suspect someone is missing you DO NOT have to wait 24 hours before reporting them, the first few hours of them being missing are the most important.
I'm actually surprised they put the 24-hour thing in the video, tbh. Especially when after those 24 hours finding a missing person becomes that much harder.
The police won't listen to you or care to put in a report until 24-48 hours have passed, because it could be a false alarm. If it ends up being serious, then they're just fucked. I don't really agree with it either and you should definitely tell the police instantly, but you can't be guaranteed that there will be any effort to find said missing person until the next few days.
What it is, is that the police often will not file a report until 24 hours because there are so many explanations for someone being missing for a few hours
The thing is; money and assets are limited, and the police doesn't want to waste money on what could most possibly be a false alarm. because then they'd be starved of resources when an actual emergency comes by.
Yeah thats what i was thinking youre just gonna abandon your kids you brought into this world with a abusive man lioe call the cops pr take em with you
My little brother went missing at the age of 6 when I was 13 and I'm currently 22. He was found 2 years ago living with a man who took him because he looked like his biological son who passed away. I'll never forget the look on his face when the police brought him back. I ran to him so fast and hugged him so hard we fell down on the ground. If anyone out there has had a loved one go missing never stop believing in the chance you'll see them again because there's a chance they will come back into your life.
I feel like my kid got kidnapped! I went to pick her up from daycare the people said sorry Stephen she moved away that was 11 years ago she was 2 at the time.. 😳😰☹
I was told by a few friends of mine, who are officers, that waiting 24 hours to report is the worst idea. That allows for more time for things to go wrong. I'm not saying to call if someone is gone an hour, but report something within a reasonable time. It is always easier to cancel a missing person report than it is to look for a body.
@@seabreeze9296 it really just depends on the area that you live in and the training they received. It was common a while ago to have to wait. Maybe since gps wasn't on every device and people didn't have phones. I think the majority of today's law enforcement and staff on the missing persons team are more educated and aware of the negative and potentially deadly outcomes of waiting and negligence.
Bc its easier to "fly under the radar" when youre by yourself + kids likely wouldnt have left IMMEDIATELY like needed or they could have even called the father. Kids are idiots.
Here in Québec, Canada it depends on the age of the person. If it’s a young child research starts immediately. For teenagers it’s 24h MAX and for adults it’s 2 days
My friends from college reported me missing because they haven't seen me in a week (it was 2 weeks semestral break) and my phone couldn't be reached and haven't logged on my facebook. Truth is, I was on a gaming spree and I didn't want to be disturbed. I rented a vip gaming room for $4/day spent $5 a day on foods and $10 a night on a small bedroom. damn I miss college life lol
@@laurakuhn8743 in the Philippines, you can pay for a vip in some internet cafes and I lodge are pretty cheap to stay overnight, my food for the week was noodles, rice and dumplings. Some vip internet cafes has a promo which you can game for 8 hours for a dollar.
@@tehsamson4910 the full story was... after the first semester ends, we were drinking heavily as a celebration because we pass the most difficult subject (Research and Thesis) They thought I got home in the province/country side to relax and reduce stress but a week later my family contacted them if I'm going home, that's what get them worried because the last time they saw me was walking home to my apartment.
I like the lady that straight up abandoned her kids with an abusive husband then started a new family and never even tried to get back in touch. If I was one of the original kids I don’t think I’d be excited to see her after all that time.
It’s sad to say but you’re right. The abusing father probably raised the kids and got to hurt them during their childhood. This is why it’s important to donate to women and children abuse centers so women have a place to escape abuse legally and safely with their kids if the father is abusing the kids & mother
One week ago I was diagnosed with cancer. Your videos are helping me get through the first part of the process. You have helped inspire me to create my own channel. Thanks for your support
Jaycee Dugard actually addressed claims that she has developed Stockholm Syndrome for her captor as degrading and untrue. She clarified that she pretended to empathise and trust her captor as a means to survive the abuse. Please research more thoroughly, next time because I was able to find that information with a quick Google search.
Mmm with you a quick google search you'd also see that she was defending her captor even when being interrogated. HE'S the one that confessed and only then did she 'drop the act' that you're saying she did. That's just the tip of the iceberg too. There's many instances that she could have escaped and even had access to a telephone and email for over a decade. But you're going to believe her 'pretending' story, right? So sorry to say it bluntly but she was A) brainwashed by them or B) simply didn't want an out. A) is 99% likely.
If Jaycee Dugard finds remarks about Stockholm Syndrome degrading and untrue then it is absolutely not our place, as the public, to decide if that's true or not. We have no right determining her experiences for her. Have respect for her, a victim, and speak about her story in a way that honors her bravery.
Hannah Way if it’s not our place to decide if it’s true or not, then who’s is it? You’re allowed to have opinions and talk about facts, even if it hurts someone’s feelings.
I always packed a bag with clothes, took like 20€ and said “I’m moving to another country” lol. Then I would just go to the football pitch, play with some friends, buy a drink and come home.
Alberto Estrada I ran away but I downloaded a bunch of Netflix shows I staked out behind a hotel and made quick trips to Tim hortons, when I ran out of shows I went home
My uncle went missing 6 years ago, it sucks because sometimes I wish he had just died cuz idk and not knowing is worse than knowing. I usually think he’s dead but then the what if’s set in. Not knowing is torture.
An old friend of mine (68 years old)'s brother went missing 56 years ago and all they could find was his car in a parking lot with absolutely no fingerprints, not even his own!
Perpetrators cleaned car and removed evidence undetectable in that era? Investigative strategies and forensics have come a long way in the last 58 years.
Well, my grandfather went out to buy cigarettes. He never came back. He left to another state where he had a new family, having two kids my sister’s age and mine as well.
Reminds me of my family... my mom's dad went to another state and lived with his mom after he and grandma got a divorce, then one day he left work and was never seen again. My mom got one of those mail-in DNA tests recently and found out he wasn't even her dad... his brother was. Ooooooooo... Explains the divorce, though. The oldest generation involved is all dead so she just contacted her real dad's kids and invited them to the family reunion. Pretty chill reaction to a thoroughly messed up family.
Bee Whistler wow! Yeah! it was a good reaction from your mom and brothers. For me it was weird, we could not tell my grand ma about anything related to them. My father used to take us with his father and his new family. And it was weirder to know that you have uncles with your same age. My grandpa was 73...
This story about Jaycee Dugard is so false One: They said her last name wrong Two: She was never in the basement she actually wasn't allowed in the house for a very long time. She was kept in a separate backyard.Which is why officers never found her when they searched his home as that was still happening when she was there. Three: She wasn't at her house when abducted. She was already dropped off at the bus stop by her stepdad according to her stepfather. Yet in her book she said that she hadn't seen him and so she just walked like she did sometimes. Please people do your research if you are going to speak to things like they are fact.
I once almost went missing (to my parents POV, to me I was fine) because I didnt see my grandfather at my school, he was supposed to pick me up. So I, a 6(ish) year old, decided to walk home. The house is an hour long walk away from school. I probably took longer because I didn't know exactly how to walk. But I made it there and I am still proud on my way-finding skills today.
There is the story of the boy whose father kidnapped him when he was three, and told him his mother was dead. The little boy believed his father’s lie his whole life. Then about a year after his father died, the boy, now a middle aged man found out his mother was alive, and she had been looking for him all of those years. He was finally reunited with his mother 43 YEARS after he went missing. I know this story might not fit in with the ones in this video - there were people who knew both the boy and his mom, but I still thought that it was an amazing story - especially since he thought his mother was dead all of that time.
When I was a kid, a family friend, a young 16 yo girl by the name of Joanna Rogers was kidnapped and killed by a soldier who had already murdered a prostitute prior, her case remained cold and everyone in Lubbock searched for her, they found a link between her case and the prior murder case, and caught the guy, and using the details the killer gave as part of a plea deal to escape the death penalty, it took a long time but they ended up finding her body in a suitcase in a landfill. At the last moment her killer, a man named Rodriguez III went back on his plea deal, so the prosecutors were actually happy, since it meant they could throw it out and go for the death penalty, he's been on death row ever since waiting for his lethal injection.
In some cases is due to economic violence... she probably would have not be able to feed herself so taking her children would have led them to homelessness and death.
I remember stories of Onoda from my Grandfather which is a war veteran, he came across Onoda's story when he came across a file report regarding a Japanese soldier in the mountains. My grandpa was in service before and after WWII, Even my grandma knows about Onoda and called him "Tokwa" or tofu in english
back in october a girl from wisconsin, just a few hours away from me, went missing. her parents had been murdered and she disappeared. her name was jayme closs. she was the fbi’s biggest missing person case. everyone thought the girl was gone for good until she was found alive in january. she had escaped her kidnapper. she was found in gordon wisconsin, just a few hours away. to me, the scariest part is that i went to school with the kidnapper, and the house he held her in was just a few minutes away from my old one.
I remember that from BBC news! The girl was kidnapped for like 8 months I think, and she was held under his bed. The kidnapper ended up killing the parents to get to her. If that's the same one, that is HORRIBLE!
Have a nice day! Idk I was having a rough time since a month and then i had a good one today finally, so hope you do too. Stay happy and have a great one guys.
Wellll you know what they say If you go missing (and your still alive) Don’t give up , until you find someone to help you Oh wait nobody says that oh well I’ll watch this channel all day everyday :D
Me: title says they were found alive, so maybe this one video wont leave me utterly depressed at the end... The Infographics Show: We start with perhaps a happier case of a missing person and finish with more gruesome cases.
For a short time Shannon was moved to my primary school, but she was moved again when we all found out who she was. From what I remember she was quite a nice girl.
My husband should be on here. We were eating dinner and he got up and never came back. Then 6 years ago, boom, he pops up with a wife and three kids and then I realized that I was the mistress. 🤦🏽♀️
Just want to point out on Onoda's particular story - it wasn't just the Army that went in to relieve him of his duty. It was his original commanding officer, who told him to not give up his post no matter what happens.
What type of mother leaves her children with an abuser? How can you continue to live your life knowing that you have kids that could be in danger. She never even took a time to reach out...
My brothers childhood friend disappeared for many years. Nobody could find him and to make things worse his name was super common. Think of a name like "Mike Smith". Many years later he was eventually located in a completely different province across Canada. Long story short he did not want to be found, he disowned his family for no apparent reason and wanted to dissapear forever but naturally they had to search for him to make sure he was alive. Nobody understands why he left.
*_Took 1 week for cops to take my nephews missing report. They said cause he's 17 he could be with friends. He was found in a suitcase stabbed to death 6 mnts later_*
My dad flies the Indiana state police helicopters. He’s always out looking for people. But recently they got a new helicopter and it’s already saved lives
"Longest missing person" Interesting to think it has to be short to be considered the longest. Someone has to be found first to be considered the most missing
My dad left me in the middle of Disney Land. Someone saw me sitting on the ground for hours and finally called the cops. I was returned to my mother in another state shortly after
