@@offintheesses A 3rd place podium finish followed by a 4th place finish is impressive for a first year GT3 car. Great effort by Proton Racing, Ford Performance,and Multimatic having their 3 Mustangs running at the end of the race.
Hey there, I just got Cammisa's video with the GTP Cadillac. Hearing the V8 fire up after EV acceleration is exhilarating. Do you have a sense of stint length for Watkins Glen? I'd love to see the EV to ICE transition as they come out of the pits... In the past cell service has been spotty there for events, so I have a feeling it's going to be up to me to be on top of counting laps to witness a pit stop. I'm not necessarily asking about just the Cadillac specifically, rather all the GTP cars and how long their stints will be and fuel load etc
@@offintheesses no, not even close. I was at NASCAR in the '90s as a teenager. Last year was my first 6 hours since the early 2000s though. Just to close the loop I'm the guy that @'d you on Twitter with pictures of the curbing going into the bus stop from the bicycle day last month.
During Le Mans, the commentators brought up an interesting point: with A-M joining WEC next year, bringing the number of Hypercar teams to (at least - Acura, perhaps?) 10, combined with the minimum of 2 cars per mfr. rule being implemented, an adequate number of pit spaces could become an issue. While I'd guess that it could mean the elimination of LMP2, before culling the more-popular GT field for LM, are there IMSA tracks where more LMDh teams/cars coming into the series cause a similar issue?
There’s definitely grid size constraints at many of the tracks IMSA visits. The one that immediately comes to mind is CTMP, they were pretty much maxed out last year I believe. I also think Daytona was maxed out!
I gave up on Nissan ever since the Nissan GT-R LM Nismo. Since then, their motorsports program became pretty much nonexistent. Besides SuperGT Series and Formula E.
Honestly I am suprised that we haven't seen them at least enter the Michelin Pilot Challenge. But there is also a manufacturer marketing fee that I believe they would have to commit to in order to be eligible
Here's what I would like to see. The Ferrari the one that won LeMans, Nissan, Ford with a big V8 Jaguar in GTP and GT-Pro,Alpine in GTP. Meyer-Shank Racing to come back to IMSA with major sponsorship from Norfolk-Southern. Bringing rail fans and sports car fans together
Well, the BMW M4 has great performance as is with a few championships... lol. Any chance of a little watch party for Le Mans with all the IMSA cars entered this year?
I would say it's highly unlikely I'll do a watch party as I have to pack all the camping gear for the Glen at some point! If I do something though I will let you know!
IMSA approved the deck lid change, so the 24 hours of LeMans showed the deck lid has been repaired especially since the Proton Racing Mustang was on the podium with a 3rd place finish, followed by another Mustang placing 4th. All the Mustangs finished LeMans which is one of the hardest endurance races in GT racing.
Basically it's an upgrade kit for the car that has been approved for use! Manufacturers will typically release these a few years into a cars life cycle to give them some upgrades or help resolve common issues that the car had. For the BMW it will help fix some brake issues that they sometimes have as well as some other upgrades that make the car easier to drive.
@@nikomoin7604 they copy and pasted the BMW Z4, the Scion FRS, and now the same thing with their more modern GR86. Rumors have it, that the new GT3 Toyota is about to release, is a Mercedes chassis with a Mercedes engine and transmission. Another copy and paste with a Toyota badge
