Thanks for posting the pups! Your Chanel has helped my husband and i a lot durring our first year of being rottie pawrents:) our rottweiler Luffy just celebrated his first birthday 😅 thank you rotty ranch fam for keeping it real always!
Hey Collin .. how are the boys doing? Looks like Fluffy getting better.. hope everything is going good with you guys and the animals... sune I will send you guys a package with treats... love ya all ❤️
They’re not the happiest as it’s 0 degrees outside, however they have a comfy little room with access to bedding and protection. They don’t like not being in the house with us in the day. But they deserve that. They should have thought about that before hurting fluffy. I’d do the same if roles were switched.
Hi. I've been watching your videos. The most recent one was when June went after fluffy. Honestly, it made me cry. I can see the love & care you & your wife have for ALL the dogs. It breaks my heart that you have to separate them, but you know what's best for them & your family. I pray 🙏 you will get your answers & peace. Ignore the negative haters they just want & need attention. I'll pray for them too. You got this & your blessing are well deserved. I love your dogs thru your eyes & videos. They are your family too & family can also be difficult but to be honest. You got this. I have 2 rotties a 7 yr old & 3 yr old. My lil one can not be around other dogs & play nice. She listens & obeys very well except when it's other dogs or strangers coming to the house. My oldest is kind, loving & playful. He's so tall & big that other dogs fear him. He's never bit anyone. He is very protective at home, of course. They are our babies our " 2nd set of kids". Be proud & happy for your successes & blessings. Hope to see more of your videos again soon.
Hello Collin, Sahm, and the princess Cozy. Hope you all are doing well. Most Rotties eat like they are vacuum cleaners 🤣🤣🤣. You all keep on doing the continuously wonderful things on the Ranch with your animals. Peace.
A suggestion came from a vet, elevate their dog bowls and/or use slower bowl feeder elevated. My old giant rottie got it's belly bloated then twisted stomach, 50% chance of survival. He lived 1 extra year after emergency surgery.
@@TheRottyRanch thanks!! I’ll be getting it soon. Oh and shout out from Dallas, TX 🤘🏽 I’ve been learning a lot from your videos on how to handle my pup keep up the good content 🙏🏼
So glad to see this. Ignore the idiot who wrote above me about abandoned dogs. I do wonder if they meant the female you were able to find a wonderful adopter for. Please ignore the idiots out there. You have such strong support. My current Rottie, Max, keeps me sane as I am a widow and retired in Maryland. So many of us so look forward to the postings. How are the calves doing? I couldn’t remember if this was their first or second winter with you.
If I had a dollar for every insane comment, I’d be able to retire. 😂 We just sold Lloyd and waffles. They went to a grand mothers farm for 2 young grand daughters to raise and love on. In having to split the dogs up, I need the room and time and they will be very happy at their new home ❤️ We miss their moos at 7am :(
Can you provide any science that says slowing down feeding does any benefit :) I’ve never found any, it’s a preference to people. My dogs been eating like this for 10+ years and never had a problem.
I know this is probably terrible timing but I just watched your live. Iv never seen your channel until now when that video popped up. It honestly seemed like you just needed a helping hand and I'd like to offer one if you're interested. I study dog behavior on a daily basis! Hands on work, and have dogs that don't know me come join me and my little group. My business is used souly for me to get a better understanding of dogs and their behavior with their different personalites. Im not a professional but I do think I know whats going on here based on what you explained. I wish I had seen a video because I'd most likely have an immediate answer to this situation, so my apologies in advance. Im sure you know majority of the things im about to say and if you don't, I hope this sheds some light on it for you and you can move on to taking your next few steps. The first thing id like to say is, please try a slow feed bowl. I dont mean that to help your dogs eat slower, but puzzle bowls/toys are great mental stimulation for dogs and honestly that simple change might helps you out in the process of working through this. A puzzle bowl, add a little water and I guarantee it will help give their brains a little bit of an exercise! Now about your dogs behavior. (forgive me I am still learning names) I recall you saying this is the first time its gotten this bad, and you had two males who would rebel against one other male and completely ignore you in the process? If this is correct there are several reasons this could be happening. Depending on how old the two males are, younger males who are coming into their personality tend to get cocky with their dominance and if the dog being targeted has never corrected them for it, its likely to say they will go for the dog they know won't fight back or put up much of a fight. If the one male is younger, the two older ones are lacking in proper communication skill and they most likely don't know how to respond to certain behaviors without causing damage. A correction from a dog should be a swift, get it done and over with, kind of thing. If there is a dog pursuing another dog after they handed out their correction, that is not good energy and you, as the alpha of your pack, should correct it. Especially if you have intact males. That being said, I highly doubt that the two of them have an issue with the same dog for no reason. Im not saying its impossible but I am saying its unlikely. What most likely happened was that the energy within your pack got too high and out of control. During moments like this, one rebel among the group will always go and instigate a fight. This is why dog parks always have fights in them EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Once a dog instigates a fight and successfully gets one, another dog very well has the posibility of joining in to agitate and escolate the fight. Now that the fight has happened, and the dogs were separated, I will tell you that nothing has been solved and you know it will happen again. Im glad you know this, truly I am. But please dont think this means they don't like one another or it has anything to do with that because it most likely doesnt. You would have to figure out which dog is causing and issue within your pack and that dog needs to be corrected immediately. Not only to correct but also ensure your position in your group is well and known. These are very large powerful dogs as you have stated. This situation is more common than you think and you have time to solve it! Age, temperament, hierarchy, and dominance is what rules the dog world. To us humans, it seems aggressive and unethical but to dogs, this is how they communicate. Through growls, bites, and energy. As the alpha, you are allowed to tell them where to draw the line. What's taking it too far? Let them know! Dogs do not hate you for being strict sometimes. But one little thing can really ruin them if you aren't strict about it the first time around. As much as it probably pains you and as much as people simply don't like discipline, I'd rather get it over with at the start than to have to deal with my dog in pain over something that could have been prevented. I want nothing more than to see this group thrive together considering they always have. DISCLAIMER Some dogs simply arent meant to be in a pack environment. They can grow up in a pack and still be too dominant as they age to safely be in one. If there is a dog who in your group who is unable to settle down or will pursue another dog in the group with improper energy for simply walking by, then this dog is most likely not a safe dog to have in that specific environment. Although I dont think this is the case, its very possible. It just means this dog wont be able to be involved in pack events too often and forcing the dog will most likely only cause more issues. Stay strong! I hope this helped. I know it was long. Im happy to share what I know and I do hope to see more videos of your babies as they are all gorgeous pups. You can reach out to me any time as well and ill be glad to ask a few of my connections who are professionals for a little of their insight on this for you as well. Don't give up! I promise you, your dogs won't either. 😋
