My wife is Vietnamese, I can confirm this! Also, now, that we live in the country side, she periodically goes missing... Also, I don't think it is related, but the locals started to complain about booby traps all around the village, and some say that they heard the nearby forest speaking Vietnamese...
it's a bit more than just sandals that led to the loss tbh. Dam politicians making terrible rules of engagement, The Fat Electrician has a great video about one of the coolest aerial operations in Vietnam other than rolling thunder.
@@mr-ij9dr there's nothing you can do to beat america 1v1 so use their strength against them, DEMOCRACY. prolonging the war makes the US bled millions of dollars making the american taxpayers to stop US war.
It's not racist if everyone laughs. Ok i'll explain, if everyone laughs that means they're not offended which also means there's no racism :) Kinda stupid ik
@@weiwu1442Another fun fact: when someone asks when was the last time the US fought adversaries in black outfit, its not WW2 but on the times of Vietnam War. Difference is, the black outfits won this time.
@@TheGamingMotionTGMPolitical loss military win the estimated KD was 10:1 and crop fields were destroyed by agent orange we could have not pulled out and continued to exterminate the entirety of the country but U.S. citizens didn't really like the idea of that
I heard something like hochi min never cared about communism or capitalism. He just wanted Vietnam to be independent and it just so happen the communist wanted to help them
@@breadm8101True! The OAS which was the CIA during WW2 helped them with Japan. So they actually went to the US first before the Soviet Union. Never underestimate White supremacy and imperialism. Ask Joe Biden and John McCain. That’s why they hate Trump he ain’t an imperialist.
@@breadm8101Exactly, he is usually called the most nationalist communist "dictator" of all of them because of his famous sentence "First nationalism and then communism" implying that country will be liberated by Communist weaponry but strong nationalist spirit and then after the liberation has been completed, they will try to impose communist rule, which didn't quite work lol
It was literally a French colony that the Viet cong tried to take over. The US sent troops to protect the allied territory as a police occupation, hence why they weren't very aggressive compared to every other conflict they have been in, but the French retreated as soon as America took over defense. America finally left because of civilian protest.
There’s this legend in Brazil folklore that this gnome creature called curupira has inverted feet to trick people, when walking, the curupira manages to deceive someone who intends to follow him by looking at his footprints. The pursuer will always think he has gone in the opposite direction.
Considering the death toll and destruction the U.S. just got tired of kicking a corpse. Like people do realize the south didn't fall till 3 years later after we left rifht?
The whole idea was to keep the war going. America could have won at any time, but there's no money in ending a war. The money is in keeping it going as long as they can. Every single war since has lasted longer than both world wars put together. They just call it an "occupation" or "peace keeping mission" because it makes it seem like we're the good guys. It's all a hustle to give our tax dollars to the top 1%
Bro really made Ho Chi Minh dirty:)) There are some notes I want to tell you(as a Vietnamese): -The farmers has already fight since French intervention on Vietnam the first time,Ho Chi Minh only act as a leader(since about 1943).In reality he doesn’t have much money to recruit people. -Ho Chi Minh mainly used communism as a way to liberate the Vietnamese from the imperialist French,in reality if the USA agree to help he probably wouldn’t be communist(the US did help Vietnam a bit in beating the Japanese). -“Viet Cong”was the main way the US and South Vietnam used to called the“National Liberation Front of South Vietnam/NLF”,formed on 1960(mainly to overthrow the South Vietnam government). Before that we have the Viet Minh, which was formed even before the August Revolution. (Please reply for troubleshooting if you think something was wrong)
The Vietminh formed in China by Ho Chi Minh fought against the French, the Vietcong were South Vietnamese who chose to fight for North Vietnam they used gorilla tactics to strike and disappear by blending into the population.
No matter how you look at it we still technically won with that K/D ratio i mean we sustained 58,220 casualties while most experts agree the Vietnamese sustained somewhere in the millions (civilian deaths are unavoidable in times of war, especially if the enemy is using them as cover and hiding in villages etc. But it is best to try and mitigate the losses)
Thats just not how it works. The US did not achieve any of their military or political goals in VN and both countries paid a high price. The US won 30 years later without firing a shot when vietnam eventually joined the global economy.
@@robthewalruswhat do you mean didnt achieve our goals we stopped communism from spreading in the region. Also made the chinese super unpopular in vietnam to where most had to flee the country. Pretty sure our goals were met. We were only trying to achieve extra goals that werent actually necessary.(killing as many as possible)(taking land) both were just used as excuses to extend the war it was like 20years long
@@ronaldjackson1189 hello ronald, what i mean is watching the last US helicopter flee from the roof of the Saigon embassy, as the country is about to be reunited under communist rule, does not really make a great case for 'we stopped communism from spreading and met our goals'. If you're interested in that stuff you should check out the Pentagon papers. Every US president since Kennedy knew Vietnam would never be a victory. They send all those US soldiers to die there anyway. All for what ?
I saw a guy call out the brittish losing against america during the civil war saying "how does the strongest army in the world lose against some farmers" like that isnt the exact thung that happened in vietnam
@@rain8767 not cope but he is wrong. It legit ended due to protests over to many people dying in Vietnam. Not American soldiers mind you but the Vietnamese. It became politically dubious to continue mowing down the enemy forces of which America could have done indefinitely.
First of all, the Vietnamese were fighting France. Vietnam was French Indochina before '55. The USA were sent in to Vietnam as Military Advisors to the South Vietnamese.
