I figured out the hack guys. For my hair I only do Bantu knots on stretched/blown out/ pressed hair. My only styler is mousse. That’s it. No leave in conditioner followed by this and followed by that... no. Just those things. It comes out light and airy and the curl holds so much nicer.

Depending on how I feel, i will, after washing my hair, if i want a real quick stretch i will heat up the flat iron and just go over my air dried kinky hair one time and then detangle with moisturizer and then twist. If i don't want elongation then i just take my air dried kinked up hair and moisten/hydrate it with a hair lotion or grease and get to twisting. I don't like to part it evenly like with a comb because I hate the gappy/scalp ness that shows up when you do it like that so i just grab and go. You can stretch it out in multiple ways if you want some elongation. You can also twist it loosely/softly. Also twist in bigger sections(medium type) so that it fills out and looks fuller.

twist outs are hard for you to get? No gel or mouse or hair lotion worked for you so that you get hold and moisture? Dble twisting/rope twisting/Senegalese twisting didn't work for you to do twist out either? When I do twists i put roller in my hair or pin curl the hair so that its full bouncy curly twists. And even MORE curl and twist once you unravel all of that. Sorry its failed for you.😐
@pmw5422
@pmw5422 3 года назад
@kellsy h Yeah I mean doing rollers or pin curls essentially does the same thing Bantu knots do. Twist outs alone don’t give the spiral curl look I like. Bantu knots alone don’t give the same stretch and definition I like. When I do twists and then wrap them in Bantu knots, I feel like the products I use set even better. Then I get nice, defined spirals that I don’t get when I do either style alone.
@marlak4203
@marlak4203 3 года назад
@@pmw5422 Well yes you will get more definition the more twisting up you do. Rollers can be done variously. You can do perm rods JUST on the ends of the hair. There are variety of rollers(seems like so much more keep coming out all the time. I am surprised by the various ones). It depends on the product that you use with the rollers and the sectioning of the hair that give definition too. Flexi rods are popular for spiraly looks. I had to watch multiple videos to finally get it right a certain way for myself. There is also the 2 strand twist and "turn" while using rollers. You 2-strand your hair then put in rollers but as you move the roller up you twist the roller a certain way. Flat twist your hair and then put rollers or pin curl or bantu knot or corckscrew..or any way of curling it you like on the ends and then unravel later on. You get full definition. It all just comes down to how you want your hair to be. Show some elongation while its curly all over, on just the ends or no elongation and just a full and round look. The smaller you do it the more defined. The bigger you do it the less defined. I do all my stuff medium sized cause I am usually too lazy to go thru the time to put the small ones in and then go thru taking them all out. Power to those who do mini twists all the time.

I don't know if you ever noticed with many of these natural hair styles, but the person would mostly say "Start off with stretched hair..." That means they used heat to straighten out the hair and then created the curl pattern of their choice. It took me a while to realize this myself with my 4c hair as they styles would not work on my hair either.....until my hair was stretched with heat.

......***Greetings, Beloved of God. This message is lengthy but, it is very important. The ancient Israelite was tested by the Sabbath commandment to see if they would keep God’s law or no in Exodus 16:4- Do not be surprised if God allow man to do a similar test, enforce some type of Sabbath law to see if we will keep His law or no. ************************************************ Right now, we all do not see eye to eye, but, please hear me out.............. There is no way anyone can prove from the KJV Bible that Saturday, Sunday, etc. is the biblical seventh day Sabbaths. For, the words Saturday, Sunday, etc. do not appear in the Bible. A continuous Saturday, Sunday, etc., “man made Sabbaths” ARE NOT the true Bible Sabbaths because they are not calculated by true time. God’s true time is written in Genesis 1:14. When God commanded us to keep a seventh day Sabbath, kill the Passover on the 14th day of the first month, keep the day of atonement on the 10th day of the seventh month, etc......would He not have given us a calendar/Time to find these dates? Yes, He would have and He did, in Genesis 1:14. We are commanded to keep the days, years, etc. by the lights in heaven (the sun, moon and stars.) God did not specify which days, so, we must conclude that He meant for all of His 3 category of days to be kept by the lights in heaven. *********** The Sabbath command is one of the Ten Commandments listed in Exodus 20. It is just as important as the other nine and God commands us to keep it. Multitudes of people think and teach that we are only required to keep 9 of God’s Ten Commandments. My Friend, if we think this way, we are already deceived. ***************************************************************************************************************** ***The Sabbath is a feast. Leviticus 23:1-3 ***The moon is for seasons. Psalms 104:19 ***The lights in heaven are for seasons, etc. Genesis 1:14 ***The words “feast” and “season” comes from the same Hebrew word, MOED. ***MOED is, appointed times, appointments, feast, season, etc. The Sabbath is a MOED, an appointed time , a feast, a season, etc. Therefore, the moon, along with the other lights in heaven, are for Sabbaths. THE SABBATH IS TO BE CALCULATED BY THE TIME GOD ORDAINED IN THE BEGINNING OF CREATION NOT BY MAN’S TIME/CALENDARS. Who can prove from Genesis 1:14 that the Sabbath day is not calculated by the lights in heaven? Although many have tried, it cannot be refuted!! Take a glimpse at the dates in Genesis 7:11 and Genesis 8:4,13,14. Are these dates calculated by the Time God commanded in Genesis 1:14 or by the Gregorian time or some other man made time? ********** There are about 167 countries that keep Sunday as the seventh day and the remaining, approximately, 64 countries keep Saturday as the seventh day. If there is a “seventh day Sunday law” enforced and the remaining 64 countries change their calendars to read Sunday as the seventh day, then, the world will be keeping Sunday the seventh day as the Sabbath. Mon. Tue. Wed. Thur. Fri. Sat. Sunday Law 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7 What day will you and I then keep as the Sabbath? Already today, there are “Sunday Blue Laws” on government books. Man can change “their” time anytime and deceive the world under the leadership of Satan. We must calculate God’s Sabbath by God’s Time so The Great Deceiver can not trick us about the true Sabbath and “cause” us to worship him. “ He will think to change time and laws.” says Daniel 7:25 He only “THOUGHT” to change time when He “supposedly” had replaced God’s calendar with his calendar on earth. For he could not and has not truly change time because God’s Time sits in the heavens where no man can tamper with it! The sun, moon and stars, the lights in heaven, are God’s Time/Calendar. *********** God’s Calendar has three category of days, the new moon day, the six work days and the Sabbath day. 2 Kings 4:18-23 & Ezekiel 46:1-3. The new moon day is the first day of the month, the beginning of months. These days never, ever, ever overlaps each other on God’s Time! ........However, this is not true on the famous Gregorian calendar. The new moon day falls anywhere and everywhere on that calendar, in a given month. For example, sometimes, the new moon day falls on a “man made Saturday Sabbath”, on a “man made Sunday Sabbath”, in the midst of the month, etc. How can it both be the first day of the month and the seventh day Sabbath? How can the first day of the month start in the midst of a month? God said in Genesis 1:14 to, let the lights in heaven be for days, etc. So, which one or ones of God’s three category of days are kept by the lights in heaven? ...The new moon day? ...The six work days? ...The Sabbath day? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Example of God’s months: 1st week... new moon day, six work days and Sabbath day 2nd, 3rd, 4th weeks....six work days and Sabbath day The next month the cycle starts over. God’s months reset. Read Luke 6:1 Man uses this same concept. For example: The 1st and 3rd Sunday in August, the 1st and 3rd Sunday in September.” “The 2nd and 4th Sabbath in April, the 2nd and 4th Sabbath in May.” Note: There is never, never, ever, ever, 5 weekly Sabbaths in any one of God’s months. This is not true on the Gregorian calendar. Sometimes, there are 5 weekly “Gregorian Sabbaths.” This is not in align with true time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I believe there is a great deception coming to get people to worship Satan through a false Calendar/Sabbath controversy. God is a God of truth. God guides people by His truth. God’s Word is truth. Truth is our shield and buckler. Truth will keep us from all deceptions, the mark of beast, etc. Christ did not suffer on the cross for us to walk in a lie and continue to cling to our traditions! He did not die for us to obey the “voice of man” above “the voice of God!” Read the stories about “King Saul” in 1 Samuel 15 and the “man of God” in 1 king 13. Let us learn a lesson from these testimonies....Obey God’s Voice! When we do and teach man’s commandments for doctrine, it is vain! It is useless! God does not honor it! There will be no reward! Again! there is a great possibility some type of “Man made Sabbath Law” could be enforced. These latter days crises seems to be pointing in that direction. If this is not true, then, we do not have to worry about it......But..... ....If it is truth then, we need to become more knowledgeable about this subject in order to make the right decision whom we will honor and serve. A Sabbath test will reveal those who believe Gods Word and those who do not. Whether there is or whether there is not a “Sabbath Test”, we still need to know the truth about God’s Time written in the Word of God so we can be obedient in all things. ***Worship Him that made heaven, earth and sea. ***Babylon is fallen! Babylon is fallen! ***Do not worship the Beast and receive his mark, whosoever does, will be eternal lost and be burnt with fire and brimstone. ****Read Revelation 13 & 14 This truth about God’s Calendar/Time and The Sabbath written in Genesis 1:14, Leviticus 23:1-3, Psalms 104:19, etc.is spreading throughout the four corners of the earth. This message enrages many who claim to be followers of Christ because they can not refute it. It seems, the people outside the church buildings are the ones eagerly accepting it and believing it. Please let us consider what is being said here and further research this important subject before it is to late. Peace and Love Friends of God

I totally understand you Danielle I wanted my hair to look like other women's hair, the hair that's more celebrated you know the looser textures of hair. I tried a lot of styles and they did work for me, but gel and braids sometimes put too much tension on my scalp and it causes my hair to break off. Also my medication takes it out too😢😢😢😢.So other people say to me use this use that your hair will curl I can fool people into thinking my is curly by using hair weaves, wigs or clip-in tracks, and things such as that but when I am natural with no add-ons and no manipulation I do not like it and as well people don't give me much compliments when I just wear my loose fro people think something's wrong they think I'm sick or something why can't I just be myself?? At one point when I first went natural back in 2008 I was cold turkey I didn't wear clip-in tracks or use hair gel. I just brushed, washed, condition, and that grew my hair the longest and the fastest my new goal is to just do low manipulation if not no manipulation my hair is getting better and has grown quick by keeping it oiled and greased. I understand the frustration I wanted to have hair like maybe Cassie Ventra, hair like Mya's, hair like Sanana Latthn or you know people that you see in the magazines but I have to be myself and that's the way it goes as well don't get me wrong I like those hairstyles that have looser textures I'm not jealous in a malicious way but I do wish I had a little curl pattern and I wish that my hair didn't shrink up as much because my hair is actually longer than what it looks it shrinks up a lot so ppl think it's shorter than what it is. Thank you so much Danielle,😍😍 thank you for your honesty. You are so real, sweet, beautiful, unique, brave, humble, and I love your hair and I love your personality and your are funny too.

Twist outs are a fail for me too, they make my hair look stringy? I used to do them in high school because I somehow thought they looked okay, and I didn't know any other ways to wear my hair out. But I know better now and prefer braid outs these days lol

I feel your pain! It has been a journey for us 4C women. I would love for you to try this before giving up on your styling options, Uncle Funky's Daughter Curl Training Mold. It lays down the cuticle before applying the gel which locks in your definition. You can do a washngo, twist out, braid out or flat twist. Your hair may be a bit crunchy but I can get 3 to 5 days out of the style. Hope you try it!

Im a new natural. I really can relate to your content. Im coming from permed long hair majority of my life to now learning what my natural hair looks like. Receiving comments from my family that my hair is nappy and it looks like dreads. The ignorance it left me with low self esteem and feeling not pretty. Of recent i have learned self love again. I feel pretty, im loving my natural hair. Im learning how to style it and now i exude confidence. Thank you for sharing your stories and self love. It lets me know that im not alone. 💖

I can relate. Growing up my mom used to perm my hair once a month. Otherwise it was"nappy" and needed "something" done to it.

@Katrina Thorpe This is called a "growth plateau" You can also look it up on RU-vid. What helped me grow my hair past shoulder length was keeping it in twists and in styles that were off of my shoulders like buns or puffs. As for your crown area, Jamaican Black Castor Oil stimulates hair growth well. It's worked for me. Just apply it to your scalp once a day and you'll see results in a few weeks. Hope this helps 🙂🌼

As a person with 'long' hair, I am confused by the youtubers with long hair that style all the time because if I did half of what they did (like wearing my hair out all the time) I would never have past my waist. But I do understand why they are popular. Whenever I tell people what I do they get annoyed or think I am lying but these youtubers use a dozen different products from a dozen different countries and cultures and it can seem very glamorous. P.S. I will not lie I wish I could wear my hair out as often as they do and feel like I grew my hair just to hide it...
@TenderTrina
@TenderTrina 3 года назад
@@gamejunky98 yea I wear my hair in flat twists 95% of the time...I think it might be my iron intake(or other gaps in my nutrition) because I've had an eating disorders for years and am still struggling with it. Never thought about it till someone commented that.

I'm currently in a lazy rut with my hair. I have been rockin the shinkage, I know for a fact that my fro (nimbus3000) is super tangled🤕 braid out defeat me because of how time consuming they are. But I feel like everything is time consuming. I do use twists to stretch my hair not so much for it to actually look like a twist out.

But it's inescapable: when your natural hair is unfamiliar, how do you decide that it looks good? How do you confidently go out into a world that will look at you cross-eyed and say you look crazy, and you agree with them??? 😳

For me one of the biggest scams is - natural hair is beautiful when worn openly. Or extensions need to be added. I personalleyyy loeveve wearing twists and bantu knots as a style on their own. And then I open my hair for a few days before washday - since the main goal is the closed style, I don't do it for a banty know out pattern... Wearing our hair closed is still so stigmatized but its so good for our hair when we don't execute it as a scalp attack. So yeah... Love ur content Danielle :) you are awesome
