Really loving all these videos on the NCE PowerCab. I knew about some of them, but I never knew about the Ammeter. That will be really useful. Thanks again!
These tutorials are great - just getting started - and these help w/ the basic knowledge I don't know I'm missing - thank you for keeping it clean and simple - so much of the programming seems.....bewildering.....LOL Nice to see this laid out simply
I have a NCE PowerCab for my 3 DCC Iocos, in the months that I've had it I've yet to work out how how to get functions beyond number 9. Anyone know how to do this?
Yes. There is a parameter you can set to 122, which allows the Option button to change keys 0-9 to access functions 10-19, then press again to change them to 20-28 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sSJNtsP3aLI.html
Hi can you please help me I got a bachmann class 47 i put it on test track it runs off at full speed so i cant programme it I am using my smart phone with hornby hm7000 controller It cant find the decoder can you make a video showing how to fix it
Put the two locos in a consist. It depends on the gearing of the locos although having said that I have two Bachman 20's and they don't quite match the same acceleration speed off,
Hi John, have tryed to reset the recall slots on a nce power cab, without able to change the recalls it apears my is set to 2 and can`t change to any thing higher, can you help please thank you Brian.
I followed the steps and was able to enable the ammeter, but never got the option to change the number of recalls. I would like to increase this to 4 or perhaps 6. I purchased my NCE PowerCab in 2011 and it allows just 2 recalled loco addresses. Could it be that my PowerCab needs a software update? If so, how do I do this?
Just use the same process, but then choose the other option. Every decision on the PowerCab is either '1' or 'Enter', so choosing the other one will toggle it.
I'm afraid the DCC standard only allows 4 digit addresses. With a BR loco, I usually use an address that has the first two digits then the last two, eg a class 37 37 409 becomes DCC address 3709. So far not had any conflicts!
Hi. I’m debating whether to upgrade to the NCE Powercab from my Bachmann Dynamis that I’ve been using for about 12 years or so. You seem quite knowledgeable, so I’m hoping you can answer a couple of questions for me. 1/ as my loco decoders are already programmed to a 4 digit number, once the NCE PCab is installed, can I simply call up the address on the handset and SAVE? 2/ how straight forward is it to programme accessories - I have 2 sets of light signals and a point, which are obviously already programmed to the Dynamis? Does the NCE PCab handle this require the well\with ease? Many thanks in advance 👍🏻🚂
HI Brian, Thanks for the question - once your loco decoders have been programmed with their address, they retain that until they are reset (check out my video on how to do that), or reprogrammed with a different address. So, if your loco has an address of 5319, you can just connect up your powercab, press 'Select Loco', type 5319 and hit enter, and you can drive your loco. You dont need to click save - pressing recall allows you to cycle through the most recent locos. The same applies with you accessory decoders - the settings will remain the same. Just press 'Select Accy' button, type in the number you programmed the signal or point to, then you can select whether to switch it to on or off.
Do you use any of the Bachmann DCC turnouts, reason I ask is I have a couple of them, and can't figure out how to use them with a accessory setting on a cheap Hornby controller. Wanting to know before investing in a better control unit. I'm only using the Bachmann DCC EZ Command controller at the moment with the 5Amp power amplifier. Gives more than enough power, and number of engine addresses for myself. It's just lacking it the number of accessory addresses for turnout control as my layout grows
@@russcole5685 no I don’t. I use only one point motor as I have a micro layout, and this is a DCC Concepts model which was easy enough to program on my Dynamis, however didn’t always change over when change of direction was attempted via the controller.
@@MessingaboutwithModels Need 20 plus functions now as latest new locos have more than 20 so my Trusty Dynamis may be changed after all these yrs.. Its the Prodigy advance or the Powercab
