Coming from your average kid, unless it's something super serious, I honestly think it's kinda funny. The best ones are the outlandish excuses that everyone just moans and groans at; brings a smile to my face when even the dad knows it's bs, but we go with it anyway.

Mine just hits me- nah he's a good guy. Pretty early on as a kid I heard the " I ain't as strong as I used to be " from him, so I tried working out, playing sports and just " being a strong man " - so that I could go " Look. It's because I have YOUR genetics. " - Y'know, 'cause being able to look at a kid you're somewhat proud of and go " I had a hand in making that. " - tends to make them very happy.

THE BEACH STUFF. We have a lake we go to and I offer my dad help to carry items to and back from our usual table and he always refuses, When he can’t carry ALL OF IT but he does 😭
