Reinstall the motor and original trans, clean it from top to bottom, lightly buff the paint, and be the envy of most muscle car owners....bullet holes and all!! Incredible find!! Thanks Patrick!!
I hate that the car had to sit for so long. But I do appreciate the fact that they kept it indoors. I respect your work and what you do with authenticating and showing videos of these cars. Keep up the good work.
Man, what a great job documenting the car Patrick. You need to make a purchase on this if you can. Sounds like the ultimate SS combo! Sitting that long and it's in relatively great shape. Glad they decided to store the car inside, makes all the difference.
I , Archived this automobile " Great Representation " ! Thank You very much Mr Patrick 👍 , I , really appreciate getting to see this ultimate Muscle Car time machine . Thanks to the Owner for taking good care of it !
Wow !!. Thank the owner for showing it that car is correct correct and correct !! That car is Epic I can't believe what I see here and they have the Original 454 !! I almost smash my phone jumpin. Around !!
Put it back together clean it up and leave the rest of the car alone bullet holes and all and just drive it . Another awesome car thanks for sharing it
Tuxedo black '70 Chevelle, LS6, M22, 4.10 rear, cowl induction, bucket seats... Man, if they find that original transmission and restore to concourse condition, it just might be a million dollar Chevelle... ...if not for those damn bullet holes and rigged up automatic shifter.
You're a busy bee, I wish I had your talent and tenacity because that's what it takes to do what you do, thank you sir, you give me hope to find one , one fine day I may find me that chevelle I've been searching for
Glenn, I'm 62, and growing up, a kid a few years younger than me had an LS-6 4 spd Black with white stripes, I know it was an LS-6 as I changed bent pushrods in it and the covers had never been off, the valves were out of adjustment, and after I replaced the bent pushrods and set the valves, he said go ahead and take it for a ride, at the time it was blindingly fast and the tires could not hold that car, it did also have a 4:10 and we talked about switching his posi and gear into my 67 350 camaro which was a 4spd/3:31 rs/ss Tahoe turquoise black vynal, we lived in Madison Heights, Michigan.
@@MaliciousSRT Especially back then scrap prices were really high. Let's say like $500 or so. People would have part them out for money too. What were they thinking?
@@trickyricky12147 They all rusted really bad too. A friends dad had a 73 challenger and he said by the late 70's it was so rotten you had to watch where you leaned on it!
@@MaliciousSRT Well.... especially Mopar No Fars. But to some extent I disagree. I believe that vehicles back then had thicker gage metal body panels and yeah certain vehicles tend to rot faster than others especially when you live in the northern region. He might've lived somewhere around that area, just my guess. Road salt is a big factor too.
That is a nice find ,nice nice car! I hope one day you can do a follow up vid of it back on the road. In my opinion it don’t need much of a resto. Put the engine/trans in it and give it a bath it would be a beautiful car!
Just to let you know I have been a Ford fanatic for well over 50 years. Now that’s out of the way I have a lot of appreciation for this particular vehicle. It’s an old motorhead working on something like this would be a real wake up and a good kick in the pants.
The cats are the only ones who cared about these cars all the time they were in the barn. You should bring it back and show the cats once restored, and video their reaction.
cousin Delbert I’ve always been a Chevy guy but as I get older I’ve realized how badass mopars are so even though I’m still a Chevy guy I’m gonna try to get a 67-69 barracuda and 68-69 roadrunner or a 70-74 challenger or a 70-74 barracuda but that’ll be after I finish my 68 Chevelle 69 lookalike (69 nose and tail)
Very straight clean car wow, the bullet holes front and back that was a close one or two, adds character. can't fake the dust, so sweet. way cool find thank you for sharing.
My old man should have kept his LS6 Chevelle from Scuncio Chevrolet. Blue with white stripes and black interior with buckets. I remember riding in the back of it. Must have been around 1972-1973 . I'm into cars and photos of cars, but not at that age ! I wonder where that car is today?
I remember when we picked the car up in Mystic, Connecticut from the original owner, the guy's girlfriend was crying as it was driven away! I still remember that. My father always said to me. " I should have never sold that car." Of all the cars that my father owned, he knew that he should have kept that car. I think the gas prices forced him to sell (I don't actually recall who bought it or why it was sold.) I was pretty young back then.
Patrick, another amazing find! The body on this chevy is amazing condition! I hope the owner leaves the bullet holes, excellent back story about young lovers! I highly respect your documentation of the automotive history it's spot on professional and informative. Thank you. Keep up the good work! I'm 70 years old and currently restoring a 1968 elcamino ss 396, 138 vin , black bucket seat, floor console, staple shift TH400 auto, 12 bolt rear, black vynal top, butter nut yellow , GM 5 spoke Steel wheels, in dash roller tach. Thanks again for the great job.
Great video Patrick, I always look forward to seeing your new videos. I currently have a 1973 Plymouth Duster but the Chevelles have always been my favorite muscle cars. It must be a very low mileage car since it was parked since 1974. I have never seen a LS6 car that didn't have the high red line tach before.
Great video as always. I know where there is an all original, 25,000 mile L34 SS396 70 chevelle. Garaged I believe since 72 or 73. Saw the car years ago and almost fell over. At that time it had original everything.
That's a beautiful SS they should restore it and put it back on the shame to have it sit there I restored to its natural beauty and put it back out for everyone to see
Great video. Thank you for putting these out I really enjoyed them. What an awesome find. Like you said anybody who’s into muscle cars would appreciate this car. Although I’ve on 14 late model mustangs over the years, I will always remember when I was younger I had a blue with white stripes 1970 Chevelle SS 454 1:18 scale model and I really loved it . I love muscle cars!
Amazing car, that is my favorite that you've shown so far. That is something ill only be able to dream about, black ls6,it just doesn't get any better....great video once again thank you for what you do.
Hey Patrick was the car a no stripe car when New? Also are you going to do a small video in the engine, would love to see it. Great Video as always Patrick! You have to have one of the best jobs out there👍
I have a stripe delete 69 big block ss car. Mine is nowhere near as rare as this one, but with 23k and all original. Including the 4 speed, I can say they are desireable.
What a truly amazing find. I've always been a Mopar fan and have owned more than a few I wish I still owned today. With that being said I wouldn't be embarrassed to cruise this beauty down Wabash on any day of the week...
My brother has a 1970 Chevelle SS 396 and we were wondering if that car came factory with a holly 780 carburetor or was it a Quadrajet and if you wanted to do a walk-around of his car to share in the video he would probably be okay with that also if you want to get in touch with me just let me know a12 449 0122. We just finished having a repaint and interior work done and the engine cleaned up
It's very rare back thenfor someone to remove a 4-speed and put in an automatic and go through the sequence of changing the pedals out and everything also normally the clutch pedal be left in the car
there is a older guy in ButlerI Indiana who worked at Flint Michigan Assembly Plant and has a L-6 1970 Chevelle SS built in Flint Assembly Plant in Alpine White it's the only white Chevelle ever built in 1970 unrestored original driven daily absolutely no rust all matching numbers would like to know it's value
My first hotrod was A 70 Chevelle, I let my buddy drive it , and he rolled it doing 100 mile's anhour or so, there wasn't a body part that wasn't damaged!
"I will lift the hood and we will address some of the details about the Flint cars. First thing you'll notice is that Flint Assembly did not install engines in the cars made there, as they were evidently not yet tooled up for engine installation in early March of '70"
Story gets better every time you hear it. Dozens of cars like this rotted into the ground waiting to be restored. This one too, will probably end up in the trash heap. Owners/hoarders never let this go until they die. Their car, their choice.
I'm a big fan ..from sydney nova Scotia ..canada .I made a comment about a 70 396 chevelle real ss 4 speed car light blue with white stripes .it's in a guys sisters back yard for 25 plus years ....
I can guarantee you this being married twice and divorced twice no girl is worth more than an LS6 I would have kept the car in good shape forgot the girl
That girl must've been drop dead gorgeous to get someone killed 😂 but anyways you don't have to find any body parts at all everything is there!! Hope they have it back on the road today!
I'm curious how much it's valued at? Obviously anything is worth what someone is willing to pay but there has to be ballpark number, regardless if it's actually for sale or not...
Love these videos he'll wish I could be on sight seeing as you see 👀🙂and experience the weeds , the dark dank barns robbing noses with these beautiful cars 🚗. THANKS FOR SHARING.
I have watched this persons assessment of these cars for years and there just can't be many that know more about this cars then Patrick. He has to have invested an incredible amount of time and $$$ to know what he knows!!
I'd mess my pants to find something like that and not be able to fix it up. I am 72 and it would pump blood in my heart to see it out of there. All the important stuff is there. If the engine and transmission is that important then there is a lot of cars out there that the price just went down. I remember the guy who had the largest collection of rare cars and he got out of it and quit by selling his collection and went into something else that turned his life around. A lot of the cars he had were bought because money was no object to him so he paid way more than he sold for. He is not a old guy either as I saw him at Barrett and Jackson auction a few times and no matter who bid against him, he just ran the price up and bought them.
Nice Patrick I love it so why was it parked and engine and transmission pulled out of that car and why is there red paint on the left rear panel under the black paint to ?
