This episode IMO is one of the best Bleach episodes. We got to see Yhwach, Ichibei, and Pernida's backstory and clarification that Yhwach's The Almighty was sealed so the Yhwach that fought Yamamoto 1000 years ago didn't even have The Almighty
@@TheRealSkillaholicYhwach is still absurdly cracked with techniques like Auswählen. And his reaitsu alone is second only to the Soul King. Mabye Aizen is up there too. But he is the son of God after all. Nobody can beat him with the Almighty. And without it, only a select few can
@@TheRealSkillaholic I believe that Quincies are all originally HUMAN. Yhwach, if memory serves, was shown to be born in the human world. So, the old Yhwach 1000 years ago fought as a human. If we remember from this new scene, Ichibei basically said I will seal your eyes (The Almighty) in exchange for the left arm. And that he will never have them again until the day he "died" So, my guess is that Yhwach fought that war 1000 years ago in an attempt to lower the guard of the Shinigami by dying and making them believe that he will never return as a "soul" to fight again. But they didnt realize that after his death, his true power returned to him. After all, all humans become souls after death. So Yhwach did "die" during that war 1000 years ago. However, he was able to somehow or maybe already prepare the Wandenreich for his army to recover their souls and await his return to power. Ofc this is just me piecing this new scene with other information to make sense of it. Kubo really rushed this whole arc so theres ALOT of missing puzzle pieces.
@@TheRealSkillaholic I'm under the impression Yamamoto let Yhwach live, the Soul Reapers never intended to kill the Quincy until only 200 years before the story started. There's no way Yamamoto from a 1000 years ago, who was stated to be nothing more than a glorified criminal who would use any and nasty tactic to win, would not bother to kill Yhwach if it was truly a "they have to be killed off" situation.
This episode was so damn good, that first scene answers a lot of questions I've had for years and also kind of humanizes juha bach. I've never scene him that vulnerable or oblivious since he's usually 10 steps ahead. It also establishes his motivations which was definitely needed.
This. After that flashback you see that he is beatable. That's why this fight against squad 0 is so important for both parties. The manga made it seem like Yhwach was always one step ahead but now we see that he got handicapped by Ichibe before being defeated by Yamamoto. So he does seem very human in this anime adaptation.
This episode made me sympathize with Yhwach a bit. Imagine the Soul King being your dad in the state he is in, and you feel the despair souls feel due to death being in the Bleach universe.
Considering how much Tite Kubo was actually hyping this part up in Cour 2, it looks like we're gonna be in for quite a ride that I'm sure will fix most of, if not all, of the issues that the original manga material had during the TYBW arc.
Kubo mentioned that we might get the Soul King's real name in the anime when he was asked not so long ago, but I'm not sure if he meant this cour or the coming ones
Senjumaru is voiced by Rina Sato, who also voices Makoto Misaka (Railgun), so a strong range there, going from bratty teen with zappy powers (or other petulant characters) to millenia old shinigami weaver with an air of authority.
Fixing plot holes, providing backstory, character motivation, world building, plot context, and foreshadowing all in five minutes. I’m honestly very happy, a shame people bitched and moaned about missing out on tiddies when this is what we got from the relatively minor cut content. Along with the gotei 13 flashback this is my favorite sequence from the anime. Ichibei looked like an evil demon throughout the whole episode, especially during the flashback.
@xXRenaxChanXx how is it censorship? Orihime literally had them out. Also, tybw literally removed the censorship from the the previous arcs. Considering how fast this episode was, it makes sense that they cut that scene.
I like how they changed the fight from Yuha using the auswählen to Uryu using antithesis to switch his place with the quincy medallion, this might mean that we might get an extended fight next episode , the Anime is truly outdoing the manga 😁
@@mercianthane2503 i don't think the antithesis is able to revive them, but i think Jugo and Uryu will fight Squad 0 and Yhwach will fight Ichibe and use the auswählen after that
Bleach during a long time was my absolute favorite shonen and to see it animated this way with this much care adding content every panel replicated to perfection feels unreal
I agree. But I always told people when talking about Bleach (without spoiling specifics) that it was awesome until the final part of the final arc. I tell them it was awesome until the bad guy get to the final area. The good guys were trying to protect, and he just raises hell there you till the good guys are able to get to the area the bad guys just got to. But once the good guys got to the place, it was like someone hit fast forward x50 on the story. It's seems like they are taking measures to fix that.
This cour will be ending on chapter 612 and we only have like 70+ chapters left that means we will get a lot more anime only fights, lore & story in next cour and Kubo confirms it like there will be more about soul king & yhwach in next cour
Notice something? They say the 3 worlds were 1. 3 worlds: Human World, Hueco Mundo, Souls Society. Hell is never mentioned. Meaning it was always separate? Hell Arc foreshadowing?
I don’t want kubo to go back to a weekly release manga but I do think it would be beyond insane if Kubo took everything he learned from bleach and took the darker tone bleach had in the first parts of the story and used that to create a completely new series at some point.
This TYBW adaptation is easily one of the best anime adaptations of a manga in years. The amount of care they are putting into it is astounding. Nothing but praise to the Bleach team. We eatting soo good.
And people say they don't believe in miracles: it's a spectacular time to be a Bleach fan chibi 😎 This actually makes me feel better after we lost Gojo😢
I actually like that they did this. My original idea for how Yamamoto could've beaten Yhwach had to do with the raw power of Zanka no Tachi. Sure, the Almighty could negate the existence erasure, but not the raw power, Yhwach would not had to have broken Ichigo's Bankai if that were the case. Ichigo wouldn't even be able to use any attacks on him if that were the case. This is the simpler explanation, and I'm glad we got it. No, Yamamoto did not beat Almighty Yhwach, so beating Yhwach doesn't put him above Ichibei, and of course if it did, that would make no narrative sense.
Yes. It does. It is stated and demonstrated that the tip of the blade and the flame cloak burn anything that touches them out of existence. I seriously do not get why people are so against stuff like this in Bleach when, for instance *every Quincy can erase souls from existence,* not even mentioning the bullshit the Sternritter and especially the Schutzstaffel have at their disposal. At a certain point one has to admit that Kubo was just giving his characters whatever bullshit powers he damn well pleased.@ahmadadnan4773
@@Archaoen0 true, at this pacing the anime could adapt "faithfully" with just 15-17 episodes. But 2 cours remain = 26 episodes. The anime has room to significant improve the plot.
Most likely the case or at worst separate canon. For the part that generally flow the same like the first 2 season of anime up to this point, you can take the manga as supplementary materials for skipped details in the anime.
@@rf7182 absolutely, and personally i hope Kubo can give more context about wether Ichigo's Bankai can actually shatter fate or not, since it's been pointed to throughout the whole story
Fullbringer arc was amazing. Not gonna lie, I didn't like peerless Ichigo at first but all the characters and other stuff and plot progression.... Everything is amazing. But man, people still dislike Farmland arc in Vinland Saga even though it is the best
People prefer fight, badass action, blood than decent story and character development. Same how people Mock Sakura before Shippuden as useless and deny her character development later on.
Well ppl are hypocrites they tell you they want a good story...they want charecter development etc but in the end most of them got into anime bcs of the fights, power scaling etc not bcs of the story, world building
Cause fullbring arc restricted by boys and teens mindset at that times. Those guys basically didn't want to read powerless MC, slow pace , slow build up manga in WSJ. Thus the decline of popularity in Jp , even animation studios didn't want to continue to animate bleach. We only appreciate fullbring arc after we mature enough to understand, the struggle and deep emotional of ichigo throughout that short arc.
As an anime only, this episode was easily one of my favorites. Seeing Squad 0 have SUCH confidence is just so sexy. I love Kubo (I'm newer to Bleach in general as someone that binged the whole manga last year and stopped right before this arc started) and how he crafts unique characters and a unique setting. Oh Etsu just packed up everyone and it was great. Seeing Kubo make such dope Black characters SO strong and not JUST a stereotype makes me so happy, they're all fun and special and strong and just wow
I'm hoping mappa in the future for jjk s3 gives it the bleach tybw treatment, particularly with elevating source material, because right now jjk is all over the place, unless in the future gege actually manages to fix it
@@justsomeguywithamustache2901 I think it's reasonable to speed up when we took several arcs building up the ruleset, no need to explain it when you can understand what everything is now It might also be an issue of forgetting explanations you read long ago
Eh all Mappa needs to do is expand upon the stuff that happened during the 1 month time skip as well as the current debacle. Season 3 will be just the culling game portion which doesn't have many problems at all. Season 4 is where Mappa is going to have to put in some work.
more than answering questions, the scene from the beginning simply confirmed it sooner, since later it was confirmed even if only left to dialogue understanding. so i'm glad to see the anime making a scene for people to easily get this information about the arm/eyes and what is gonna happen with that spoilery arm of his. since most of them would't have searched for it like the old fans did.
This episode was a BIG 10/10! Also chibi I knew you were going to make a video on this episode and I was right! XD Say chibi what are thoughts on the boku no hero manga right now? Or you loving it or hating it?
To anime onlys , bleach manga ended it with 100 plot holes coz it was rushed AF (some guy in Reddit did a legit 100 plot holes list between minor , mid ang big questions that were left unnanswered FOR REAL) so this adition is so much welcome , CLAPS to the anime
Ywach is a good person to his core but the ways he goes about it is just wrong on many levels. Then were talking about which evil is better quincies or soul reapers they are great questions being ask and the viewer needs to answer that for themselves.
@@TrestonDoddHow is one unified world better? Won't there be deaths anymore? How? What are these concepts? Does Yhwach not want for humans to exist? Cuz if they started to exist with hollows in unified world, they are doomed.
Ywach wasnt that bad at all by that early point of the backstory. Remember that he changed his ways AFTER the fight vs Yama. Basically, Ywach was exactly like Zangetsu, a man that takes care of his people and also feels the pain of those surroinding him. The current Ywach may have the same goal as before, BUT now he doesnt care how many friends or followers he has to kill to achieve his goal
@@theoneitself As if he has seen so much death, especially after he fought and was defeated by the original Gotei 13, that he grew basically "fortified". It's like everyone is gonna die anyway, so killing off his kind to gain power so he can carry on with the plan of ending death as a concept is justified for him. The first ever war against Soul Society showed him he has to use any means to win. Also doing a ton of evil. This is so tragic, and like Chibi Reviews said, a lot of Quincy are evil af, but this finally gives some explanation to Yhwach's goal and motivation, shifting it more into grey area. Can't imagine what lore bombs we gonna get in cour 3 and 4 if so much was packed in just 2min.
i hope the anime can depict the soul society as shady as they are. the younger shinigamis are genuine people. but eg the older captains (kyoraku utikate urahara zero squad...) see ichigo as potentiial substitute for the soul king who they are willing to sacrifice if its ever necesssary. and jh can call this bs.
I want to thank Chibi for acknowledging Kurotsuchi being a walking war crime. Yes, he is a genius inventor. An amazing captain. A skilled combatant. But, the things that he does to others is just horrifying at times.
I liked to think that Kubo notice the rant and issues of the manga says. "You know what.... since the anime is finally reaching to a certain mark, I might filled out those missing plot and added some stuff to a peace the reader."
If anyone wants to know why Yhwach's version of peace does not work, simply take a look at Aizen. That is why freedom of choice is the best option. Does not matter if the choices people choose are right/wrong, we always have to give the freedom of choice as the core value. Although Yhwach wants a world where there is no death, we only know that through death, came the hero of the story BLEACH and that it was NEVER about not dying but that Yhwach wanting to have the power of life/death over others (that is ultimate power).
I agree with your take on the Fullbringer arc, i liked it a lot. Mby if people rewatch it and pay more attention to the character work there they might start to appreciate it more.
The only weird thing in that flashback is that the Quincies have guns in the middle ages but it's a fantasy world in the end of the day and Kubo can do whatever he wants.
just started watching your video but i was shocked when i saw this scene in episode, all now make sense why he has pernida and couldnt use almighty in a fight with old yamamoto
This was everything I asked for and wanted before it ever started with added greatness and delivered answers plus Zero Squad way better showing here Naimaya showing off why he's *_HIM_*
I would call this a motivation instead. Orihime's god territory powers would be a plot hole. Yhawch is Dracula trying to reclaim his throne cause the Quincy were the only ones able to eradicate hollows during that period of undeath/stagnation. You'd just randomly become a hollow or just exist, unless you fell into hell. It was stagnation or hell, endless suffering. The Quincy were just arbiters of reprieve from suffering (hollow mutilation)
I really like how the flashback scene explains how Yamamoto even beat Yhwach who shoulda had the almighty 1000 years ago (although someone pointed out to me Yhwach's almighty only had 2 pupils while when he activated his almighty against Ichibe in the manga he had 3 and eventually 5 so you can scale the almighty) Also explains how Pernaida exist as a quincy. However I want to know why didn't Ichibe just kill Yhwach if he went out of the way to seal the almighty
3:15 they are also very detrimental to the balance of souls, so even if they were grey, that is a big black facet. 4:53 This is the interesting brain tease, he asks and wants to create an answer to this white question, while eradicating other souls in the process. Which is two points onto the black scale. Even if you have imoral shinigami, they still spin the souls in the cycle. This is also related to why they can afford to be imoral, since the slain soul will reincarnate into something better.
there was never a plot hole just unanswered questions it was always a theory that he didn't have almighty during the fist invasion 1000 years ago we just didn't know why
yeah no.. it was a big plot hole u cant just show a characters biggest power and then speculate it didnt have it when he was beaten by lets say a mid level shinigami(very likely he gets beaten by most last arc shinigamis)
I'm digging it, and never expected this to get made. _coming from a dude who still has 12 EPs of Boruto waiting... I know it's not great, but after decades - I just don't want it to end_ This is some LEGACY ANIME, and no doubt most people never saw all the old ones - something about time passing, it's almost like a friend - super weird and makes no sense, but there's an emotional aspect that grew. Thanks for all the FUN EPs Bleach! Now knock this one outa the park!!!
When ywhbach says " Ill Tell You" ichibei says " I'll show you" has to many meanings. Ywhbach say I'll tell you could be meaning " ill tell you what is the truth" as being ignorant. And ichibei could only show him what HE wants. Or the total opposite and could be switched. Idk either way is cool
People thought Yamamoto beat Yhwach even though he had The Almighty. But it's clarified that Yhwach never used The Almighty against Yamamoto because Ichibei sealed it away before hand.
It is clearly shows that Ichibei was also a "bad" guy. He was the one who brought up Soul King after the mutilation happened. Obviously Yuha as a son, despise soul reaper and the world because of thing happened to his own father
Just cause something was not explained it doesn´t mean it was a plot hole, there´s a very big difference between something not being explained and a mistake in the making of the plot. Pernida being on the side of Yhwach was not explained but it wouldn´t change the plot and it also does make sense to a certain point since the Soul King see´s the shinigami as his enemies which was present in the manga Yhwach not having the almighty vs Yama we already knew we just didn´t know why, again there´s differences between something going unexplained but still making sense and an actual plot hole
How Yamamoto defeated yhwach all them years ago if he had the almighty this scene fixed the plot hole because it shows that ichibe sealed the almighty which is why he couldn't use it against yamamoto. Also it shows how yhwach had pernida
In the flashback I thought the reason yhwach didnt use the almighty was bcs chojiro stabbed him from behind stoping iys activision allowing yama to kill him yhwach had a smile right before that he planed everything even his own death.
The major issue/flaw I had is The Sternritter Royal Guards got defeated so easily without the Zero Squad struggling. It was so anticlimactic and disappointing.
Fantastic episode loved the changes but they need to nail the zero division the Manga failed them aside from itchibi they need this it's so important I'm very nervous
