"Throw paper for the statistically superior move." When you're at a loss of what to do, throw paper. Because scissors is the least thrown move, statistically, and because rock is the most thrown move, paper is the safest way to go. which is why personally i will go rock every time...
Game theory level -oo : Rock is most picked apparently so I'll pick paper. Game theory level 0 : Rock good. Me play rock. Game theory level 1 : I don't know the statistics on which option is the most picked AMONG THE PLAYERS IN THE GAME OF HEARTHSTONE, I'll pick randomly. Game theory level 2 : I know the most recent statistics among the players. I'll play accordingly. Game theory level 3 : I am at high level so my opponent know the statistics, I'll be one step ahead of him. But we can go further than that : Game theory level +oo : Actually this type of problem is a stochastic 3-cyclic Lotka-Volterra model. The meta is absolutely sure to shift continually because the role of every of the 3 option is symetrical, assuming players will not stop picking by what their experience tells them to pick and continue to evolve. Then we can plot the course of the mean field of the model using every statistics taken from players at my level to determine at which speed the model evolve and thus, the most likely outcome. Game theory level +oo+1 : I'll just play randomly Game theory level Rarran : They'll never guess I'm picking paper 10 times in a row.
Your stream inspired me to put that card into my deck. I chose a different option each time and lost (not even tied) 3 games in a row. I then proceeded to remove it from my deck. Thanks Rarran :)
RPS is not about what your opponent will play, but about what they won't play. If you establish that the opponent is unlikely to pick rock, you go scissors. Here it's not a friendly game over nothing but there are actual "stakes", so people are unlikely to pick the "mindless" rock choice.
i havent played constructed in a few weeks, but i was thinking a similar thing for plague deathknight if that's still a thing. You either draw them closer to plagues or draw stuff for yourself
This is the true test of a streamer. “Can you make playing rock paper scissors over and over again seem exciting?” Good job turning it into an epic saga
If you draw with it, it should just continue next turn and each following turn until someone wins. That gives the additional mind game of knowing what your opponent chose last turn rather than just pure 1/3 luck on the first turn
Saying paper and throwing paper is the worst move, because that forces them into being more likely to play scissors or paper, which win or tie. The correct solution is playing scissors after saying paper.
I kinda wish the Pro Gamer, instead of your oppenent drawing cards, just gives him another pro gamer so you it can chains and the value for them is not that immediate.
Man plays a game that's basically random chance, with a 1/3rd chance to win, and loses ~15 times in a row. Those are some great odds. Those are my kind of odds. Which is why I'm watching him play Hearthstone instead of playing it myself.
I knew pro gamer was a bad card so I haven’t put it into a deck, but I did play someone who played pro gamer and won at rock paper scissors, so I’ll take my 100% win rate and head out lol
PM Fans stop asking streamers to play their games and ruin the reputation of the entire community and franchise CHALLENGE (impossible(failed immediately))
If this were REAL RPS, then the meta is definable on hand gestures and how easy it is to throw Rock. In a game like this, people will VERY often pick the CENTER option, which is Paper. Some people KNOW that, so they will always pick Scissors. Rock is what you pick under the assumption that you think they know enough to pick Scissors. Of course you can have the circular reasoning against any option, but I promise you, Paper is going to be THE go to, just because of positioning, maybe upwards of 40-50% of the time. Which means you will lose by going Rock, significantly.
Rarran you are going up against people who are thinking just like you so yes no wonder you cant win at rock paper scissors. Rarran its a rumor that Rock is the most common picked thing the actual is paper becose people believe rock is the most common
I think its been said by viewers of other content creators that Pro Gamer is rigged against the user. You see the cards Rock, Paper, and Scissors in that order, from left to right every single time. Your opponent watches you pick a card, so as long as they know they order of the cards, they literally always win. Blizzard needs to randomize the order that the cards are shown to you, otherwise, its just a 2 mana 2/3 that lets your opponent draw 2 cards, which is basically throwing.
Wait, but Leo (game designer in HS) confirmed in a video with Rarran that the order of options/discover is always randomized on the opponent's point of view.
Wait, you have to choose the options, then end your turn so your opponent chooses his option and if you win you get the cards? It was an ''ok'' card for me, now it's a complete garbage. Looks like Blizzard is not prepared for opponent interactions on your turn.
