Snap, it was BBC radio Kent, an announcer Julia was so filled with hate against leave voters it was vicious. Thanks Julia, I cancelled, havent regreted it.
Lies and propaganda about Rona made be think about leaving. Then the blackening of TV content. The straw that broke the camels back was the rainbow BS and the HUGE lies surrounding gender types.
I think they only did Brexit as a novelty, the public will love us for letting them decide even though it's going to be a vote to stay... I think it backfired somewhat when "vote leave won" and they could not run away fast enough... Even some of those that appeared to support leave. And that fishy woman in Scotland, my thoughts.. she was going to have referendum after referendum until they all got fed up and voted independence just to shut her up.
Someone else that is past their sell by date. I liked his early stuff, but it becomes more of the same. And I am afraid that Attenborough bored me after his first series! All the best
Notice the drive on the phoney Ukraine war has gone quiet. They pushed it as an agenda to much and people were waking up. So rarely hear now. Even today they reported on a Ukrainian warplane training practice crash. So fackin what. All this crap would of been ended had the world not fueled the fire😊
I think that you will find that there's 'the truth' (verifiable hard fact) and 'the truth' (perception based opinion and hearsay). In your vernacular use of the phrase "armed with the truth", I suggest that the latter definition is most applicable.
Between 2005-2020 mainstream media died a slow death for me as I became frustrated with personalities on ridiculous inflated wages, decreasing quality of programming and certain agendas being pushed. Then the events of 2020-2022 were the final straw for me. I’m done with the BBC, I suspect many other people are too.
They got infested with commies in the early 2ks, the wages of all celebs were ramped up to get them controlled and pushing out endless lies and ganda to the nation.
Media are not in the business of empowering ordinary people, no one feels better, stronger, or improved after watching news or "serious" programming, you are more likely to feel worried, confused, upset, fearful. The fact that media now fully embrace left ideology and all sorts of -isms makes them even worse
Cancelled the Tv licence over 3 years ago thanks to your videos. You convinced my husband that we wouldn’t be breaking the law if we cancelled, only had one letter and it went straight into the bin. Big thumbs up & thank you xx
Same as me thanks to Jon’s videos. Jon’s saved me almost £500. Capita are really cranking up the harassing & bullying letters to me now, I’m under investigation like I’m a criminal etc, etc. 😂 All sent over to Jon’s website.
I remember during the Brexit referendum when they were getting scared they'd lose they wheeled out Cameron and Osbourne as the other people from the Stronger In campaign weren't having any real effect
Theroux probably knows where a few bodies are buried, considering how long he's been with the BBC. He ought to be concerned about the BBC's history of employing wrong 'uns.
I noticed that he made some remark about boldly speaking the truth only didn't he admit he knew about Jimmy Saville but when he filmed him he just made a few sly illusions to which Saville smirked in a kind of "I know and you know" complicit way. I never saw the programme but I saw that clip.
@@janebaker966 Saville was repulsive. In the program,as I recall, he inferred that he had friends high up in the police. He was cagey in his answering of questions, but now we know how far up the ladder he was being protected.
I've been getting very threatening letters since cancelling my TV licence. Trying to scare me & saying ignoring the letter could cost me a lot more than the licence fee. I had no need for it & never will, as I'd not watched the TV stations for a long time. Indeed I'd been stupid in paying for it for a long time, when not needing. My last letter of yesterday says an investigation into my property has begun. Good luck to them. I DON'T NEED A TV LICENCE.
Just ignore them. If you answer the door to one, just shut it in his/her smug face. Don't say a word. Eventually they will have to drop the name from the address and it will come addressed to the Occupier. The threats come in waves, every 6 months or so. Ranging from will you be in on this day to red letters assuming that you are breaking the law. If you check the reverse and is says Darlington return address just throw it in the fire/bin. Just think how much money they are wasting in postage/paper and envelopes. I reckon they have wasted a TV licence or two sending me threats for the past 13 years!!
@@andrewsingleton2710 Maybe they put you down as No Licence Needed? That suppresses the letters for a certain amount of time. I'd reckon they'll be in touch soon. But if I was you, I'd just ignore them. By saying you don't need a TV License gives them the legal right to hold your name and address on file.
You can have a tv etc. Is just how you use it. I have a cable connector to my house that I have never used. The last dweeb that came round said cos I had it I had to have a tv licence. To which I said the company that owns the cable is rubbish and as I don't actually watch TV I don't need one and continued my interrupted conversation in the garden ignoring him. Before that I had a go at them for their wording so they left me alone for a bit.
Really goes to show how little faith the people working at the BBC have in their programming when they insist you must be forced to pay, instead of letting the free market decide what's good and bad.
It is ROBBERY on a vast scale so why is it not treated as such. Why do we need a licence to watch live ITV or Freeview programmes when they are financed by advertising?
If the BBC's Goon department showed courtesy and respect to potential customers, instead of writing threatening letters and using cold calling with harassment and deception to force sell, they would have been better received.
Exactly. Wouldn’t it be nice to receive a letter from the BBC listing all the great programmes they have and why you should come back. The only issue with that is, they’d need to actually produce some quality content first.
It was actually the News that put me off watching TV ,its so depressing and so full of propaganda,so i get my news from the likes of you john and the internet .
Same here. They only show bad news. I certainly across an article online from the U.S about a massive mine opening in the UK. Its going to make millions upon millions in exports of a natural and organic fertiliser and from the outside the place looks like modern famr buildings. Its an absolute triumph.... not a word in MSM here.
You are absolutely right. I myself don't own a tv, got rid of it 8 years ago but, I visit my elderly mother most evenings and she has her tv on 24/7 as she lives alone. Every night I have to endure listening to the news which I purposely don't look at and try to avoid listening to but it can be hard when your elderly mother is hard of hearing. I sit thinking how awfully depressing it is, story after story and to top it all of, it's usually followed by another programme on a docu about someone who was murdered or someone who is dying from some illness etc etc. How she sits and listens to that day in, day out, I don't know. I've tried pointing out how ruddy depressing it all is but she always says she loves her tv, especially the soaps, geez, don't get me started on them, I feel like cutting my throat lol after listening to all that tripe. Just something I've gotta put up with while I'm there I guess.
They not only show depressing propaganda but they actually only report on 0.5% of what’s happening. My mum gets her news exclusively from TV and she’s SO uninformed (misinformed).
I got a letter, offering me a ten day window to pay my tax, they promised, I would not receive a visit from one of their agents during this time. I was gutted, look forward to visitors, even baked a cake, in anticipation.
I've worked from home for the last decade, maybe longer, haven't paid the license in about 8 years now, loads of letters, not a single visit. I don't mind them coming round, there is no aerial in my apartment, and I've gone out of my way to block bbc addresses on my windows hosts file so I cant access them accidentally, i know thats a bit techy but I am a software engineer.
I never thought two phrases, "big guns" and "Louis Theroux", would ever be paired. I have never considered that individual anything more than something I occasionally find sticking to the sole of my shoe.
What does he mean a Brexit from the license fee? A public vote on it ? We had that with Brexit but were still waiting to take back control. Weve tried voting in the past but they still do there own thing regardless of what the electrate voted for.
I have to say it's good to see so many people out and about in the local Park. That's where you want to be spending your money, on old fashioned outside entertainment, not on some brain rot produced by the corporate agenda.
And in Medievel England news was pinned to the church door in each parish. This was considered the fastest and most official way of distributing information. We don't do that anymore either. Take note, BBC. You're the church door of old
@@enkisdaughter4795 but the culture was to have items read to them, and more importantly to have them interpreted for them. We would call this ‘spin’ now I assume.
No idea those programs are still on! Stopped MSM years ago. Im 72 since I retired the internet is my playground. Rumble is doing better than you tube for veracity and no bias
i have had two visits from goons in two weeks i have called tv licensing people and they said if i dont have a tv license i cant watch ANY tv at all and they will send a detector van round to check if they pick up a signal i will get a visit from them with police present and will be taken to court they are a joke keep up the great work you do and take care
well the girl on the phone said they have a machine that can detect a signal from a tv and they would check on me to see if im watching any channels at all @@brimkathstampex2306
They need to be so heavily defended because they are fighting a losing battle. The BBC, who kept mum about Jimmy Saville, the BBC who pay astronomical amounts of money for talentless presenters, the BBC who are the wokest platform of all in the way they deliver their news to how they want the public to hear it - totally unbiased (NOT!!!). I feel a new video coming on to reiterate these points. Good to see that you’ve looked up from the porn and come back to the real world 😂😂
The BBC also did their best to get Cliff Richards into trouble which was low even for them. I don't recall any apologies forthcoming from anyone, but I doubt they would ever offer a sincere one.
I think the TV Licence is probably the best situation. At least this way, we can choose not to pay. The alternative could very well be worse, such as through general taxation.
I see what your saying but why can’t the bbc just be a subscription model like Netflix etc, if they’re such a great service they’ll have no problem getting subscribers
Agreed paradox. Cancelling the TV licence in one hit will lead to immediate funding from central government. So the gravy train continues and the chosen few live in luxury forevermore at our expense. Far better is the slow, steady decline we see today. As the mainstream slowly disappears up its own back passage the lies and propaganda become more desperate, so even more wake up to how obvious their BS is.
@@arthurmackrell8154No it doesn't. What's to stop you watching whatever whenever you like - BBC, ITV, Channel 4/5 etc. as it doesn't require a TV licence to do so? You simply watch. What's the problem?
Who is this Theroux person? I don't have anything to do with MSM. I'm 72 and an internet pic'n'mixer. He's obviously without relevance to Rumble and You Tube. Not on my algorithms
@@robertfarrow5853- Theroux is an investigative journalist, one of the few left in the MSM. He specialises in one-hour documentaries interviewing highly controversial people, like Mexican cartel bosses and Jimmy Savile.
I think we must be the only country in the world where you can go to prison for not paying a tv tax.I stopped paying the tv tax around fifteen years ago when my tv packed up and have'nt seen the need to buy another.there's plnty of information and entertainment available on the web
You don't go to prison for not paying the tv tax. It's a fine that's given out by the court. It's when people do not pay the fine given by the court, is when they get sent to prison for non payment of a fine.
It's like a TV ad: Are you feeling chipper, upbeat, life of the party and you don't want to be like that anymore? We have the solution, watch EastEnders and Coronation st. That'll sort you out. (Disclaimer: watching these shows can cause severe depression).
One of the reasons I divorced my ex wife. F'ing sofa operas on all day 7 days a week. She complained I was working long hours, I said you watch sh!t TV all the time.
Louis lives down the road from me I remember walking past him and his children telling his kids what a legend their Dad is, now I might just walk past no comment.
Just ignore completely, anything and everything that TV Licencing sends to you. They cannot and will not do anything about it - unless of course you're stupid enough to let them in to your home and speak to them.
I don't even watch mainstream tv or news programmes as we have it on our mobile phones and online. I watch boxsets, the odd documentary and sometimes dramas, the rest I don't care much about ad it's too much fake and contrived content filled with fake celebrities.
Oh dear Lord ... I agree TikTok and BBC!, well maybe they were made for each other ... I deplore both of them tbh but unfortunately the kids love it ... and the fact it is not right ... when was the last time the BBC did anything right!? They don't care. Got me on a bad day lol but great to see you out and about again. :o)
He,s obvious speaking from the side where he s made a bundle off the bbc.,And its always something for him to fall back on in hard times ,Once his latest tired docu,s flop its called SELF INTEREST.
Enjoyed that 👌 still make me laugh and to be honest we have the same issues with our main broadcaster here in ireland.... useless for the most part as its too institutional and chronic memory loss when queried on its finances... go figure! Keep it up greets from Dublin
If the BBC did provide us with good news coverage, showing both sides of every issue, this type of channel wouldn't have been necessary. It's thanks to the likes of your and others channels telling us what's going on, that has kept us informed. Thanks
You bet! Just came home to a big RED envelope on the mat. Addressed to "The Present Occupier" and my flat No etc. Apparantly, since I didn't reply (ignored) to their previous one, "An investigation has begun". I'm s**ting my pants..... with laughter! I took the trouble to register "no licence needed" with them.... And they don't even know my name. What's the chance they can even find my front door?
There is absolutely no justification for the bbc as it stands. Channel 4 is exactly the same as bbc (public broadcaster) and they don’t receive a single penny of the licence fee. I can’t believe they are cutting the eastenders budget after spending I think it’s in the realm of £130 million on the eastenders studio. Just for one show not including production costs. BBC is an absolute disgrace and needs investigating financially because they have a lot of fingers in pies funded by the licence fee but separate entities like BritBox and bbc America both subscription services then they have Dave, gold, yesterday and uk tv which all receive advertising revenue and then you have the production companies like bbc studios which don’t have to produce tables of extortionate salaries even though it’s licence fee funded, and now as well you have bad woof production part owned I think by Sony who are also now receiving money from licence fee for doctor who and other russell t davis shows
Naga Munchetty gets paid £329k pa for sitting on a sofa being obnoxious and reading an Autocue. How does that job warrant that salary? She should be on £15k max for that imo. And Gary Lineker on £1.75 MILLION for MOTD! Absolutely outrageous.
It's a relic from the 1950s, and fewer and fewer people (especially those under 30) are watching or listening to their stuff, but it's part of our 'heritage' and an 'indispensable' part of our day-to-day lives, so it 'must' stay, and the funding model 'must not' be changed.
Jon, thank you so much for encouraging me to bin my TV licence I've been licence free for nearly 3 years now God bless you mate and keep up the great work 🙏
It doesn't matter who is doing the pr(propaganda) if what there saying is crap then I don't listen to them which has become anybody talking about the bbc or any one from government 😂😂
Hi. Same thing here in Ireland we are on a TV licence strike \ dispute only difference being " you can go to prison for refusing to pay " over 3,500 up in court this year alone, last year 2022 205 in prison, 2021, 234 back in 2014 ,411 sent away ,,,,,,,, paying a TV licence to listen to government propaganda ,I stopped watching TV and any news media and my mind is so clear and i have a health outlook on life both physical and mental
I'm 88 years old, have never watched Eastenders since the first episode as I disliked it right away. However, Corrie and Emmerdale I've watched from the start and continue to enjoy both. They contain drama and humour which is good stuff. As for the BBC, I've not watched anything since the final of Strictly, last December. So they can sling their hook. I pay my licence grudgingly. The soaps I watch do raise issues that are important so I would be sad if they where taken off ITV.
The BBC only tells us what they want us to hear! They definitely leave important information out. I've not watched it for 2 years and haven't missed it. I don't have Netflix, sky or anything else either. RU-vid ( a few favorites) and alternative media is all I need. There's still SO many things to watch although I like to listen to podcasts and do things at the same time.
What television outlets miss is that anyone can learn about the news events of the day in five minutes on the internet, rather than watch an extended and voyeuristic five minute clip on the same subject… When there is a massive flood in Pakistan, do we really need to sit in front of a box and watch the victims clinging to trees or rooftops to understand that the situation is dire for those people? Similarly, with their so-called entertainment, do they really expect intelligent people to watch the imaginary and over-inflated woes of their hyperbolic working class victims in their soaps? Or be interested in their cookoff, dancing or mediocre talent competitions? I ditched ‘The Box’ years ago and have never looked back…
Can I ask people what they think of the failure of the BBC to report on the abuse of the autistc girl and her treatment over the "lesbian Nanna" comment.? Wasn't that story in the public interest and newsworthy?!
I don't watch any of the BBC channels so why should I have to pay a licence fee? And Netflix is a subscription service so why should we have to pay for it twice? I also don't watch ITV, C4 or C5 nor any of the + channels.
I always take the hotel soaps. We only took one Towel from our Mallorca hoilday in 2001. The towel was nice with THB Hotels branding it has been throw out now sadly.
As regards good news coverage, I agree there is a lot of dubious stuff on YT, but I notice that a news item appears on YT and then appears on BBC the next or two or three days later. I think that YT contributors often do a better job than the BBC and it is free!
Yep unless they take cash a debit credit card is taken. Your room is checked when you have left and in accordance with the contract they can charge you for items missing incidentals soaps shampoos tea coffee etc are written off.😊
Quit watching BBC/Broadcast TV 5 years ago and cancelled my license 3 years ago. Not missed it at all! The quality dropped massively with the advent of Freeview. I think Fry & Laurie did a sketch about it 25 years ago where the minister for TV or whatever states increased choice is better and then he asks for a spoon to stir his coffee they dump 500 plastic coffee stirrers on his table. "is more choice really better Minister?"
I agree with you, the BBC should never have got into political bias totally at odds with their charter. I still have a tv licence despite not having a television, but I rely on internet to keep up to date on news/current affairs; I feel better informed.
Who knows? It's a big organization and big organizations inevitably have a few - it's a matter of statistics and probabilities. BBC ruthlessly and endlessly investigated the Church etc. while ignoring a similar percentage of offenders in its own ranks. Therein lies the problem with the BBC, they couldn't see beyond their own prejudices.
