I know it might sound stupid and weird but you have no idea how much your videos help me. I have very bad anxiety and I can't take the meds used for it because I don't want to be sedating and out of it all the time because I'm a mom and a nurse. I watch these videos when I can feel a panic attack coming. I started watching because of how cute they are but I realized soon after that they were helping me with my anxiety. So thank you for all you do, not just for me but more importantly these amazing animals!!! God now I sound crazy bc monkey videos are my "happy place" 😂😂😂
No, you don’t sound crazy because the same thing happened to me. I ran across a baby monkey video and thought it was the cutest thing ever and started to watch more, and before I knew, I was obsessed because of the peace and joy that the monkeys gave me. I thought I sounded crazy too, & then I realized that whatever brought me out of my depression, is a good thing, not a crazy or weird thing. I don’t know you but I pray happiness for you always, even when you are not watching the monkeys. The only thing besides the monkeys that helps me is Jesus and his love for me. Just knowing that he is there with me and for me is enough to bring me happiness and comfort. Be blessed today and always 😊
Rhesus monkeys have such expressive eyes, some of them have eyes that remind me slightly of people I know. And their expressions are just amazing. I think Sally was very beautiful when she was young, she had a very expressive almost human looking face with eyes that said I have been here before! It just twists my britches in a knot when people have negative things to say about these cousins of ours, they have just as much right to be here as we do!!
Good for you Tanno! The monkeys and VO's at Angkor Wat have become really strained. The VO's have become s o intrusive I believe it is having a negative effect on the monkeys there and the demand and creation of more and more "monkey" videos has gotten w a y out of hand. That's why I enjoy this site so much. Arroz never feels intrusive and gives his subjects space when they "tell" him so. Bravo and thank you!
I only watch this channel because I hate seeing how much the Cambodian monkeys have been negatively influenced by extreme human interference- rubbish everywhere, overweight and bloated on human food and troop bonds disrupted. I like how the ones on this channel, while affected by humans still live as they would naturally and you can see how much more healthy physically and mentally they are.
You are right Sharon! Not only are the other videos are staged and disgraceful! Those monkeys are starved and abused to the death alot of times, hey anything for a buck! The people filming those poor beasts should be jailed and tortured like those monkeys. Stealing the babies is just the first of the crimes they should pay for and it gets worse from there. Sorry about the rant, but those people really piss me off. Well to all others...HAPPY NEW YEAR!...VICKIE!
There's something that needs to be brought up- and I'm bringing it up here, because there's more of a hands off policy with these monkeys, and when food is given, it's from government volunteers, or in a discreet setting. And the viewers that watch these monkeys are more- there's no other word for it- even keeled then viewers of other monkeys. I'm noting a lack of perspective on some of these monkey sites, where the monkeys are taking priority over people. There are some viewers on other sites, and a lot of it is because they can boss the cameraman about and get away with it, are endangering the cameraman and the monkeys by putting the monkeys' welfare, for better of worse, above the people that are around the monkeys. The situation in Angkor Wat has become ridiculous, and also, it's not doing the troops any favors, but recently I've seen people commanding men, who have families, and responsibilities, and lives, to interfere with the monkeys to the point they can get hurt. People are becoming so emotionally attached to monkeys, due to 20 videos a day of the same scene, that they are forgetting that the monkey is a living thing with its' own life, and that the cameramen have lives and duties beyond tending to "their" monkeys. It's not good for the monkeys, it's not good for the Cambodians, and it's definitely not good for the viewers who are losing their perspective. I"m brash, I'm rude, I'm blunt- it's hard for me to point this out, especially to people who's condition I can't understand. (Of course I truly bummed with Bossy Jr's, disappearance, I wanted to see her rule the joint, but I didn't demand that Arroz to search all of the island to find her. ) Is there a way to point out the loss of perspective, and try to reason with these out of control viewers that a baby monkey they are attached to from a thousand miles away is not worth the illness and injury that befall the cameraman 'protecting' it? Also, they aren't doing their favorite monkey much good either.
Tanna you know I'm of a mind with you on this. I've seen viewers tell the cameramen to walk up and down the main road leading to Angkor and stop every car to tell them to slow down near the monkeys. I've seen viewers get "outraged" because a mother pigtail macaque was nursing her 1-year-old baby, and DEMAND that the cameramen physically stop the mother from nursing her own baby because it's supposedly "sexual" and "morally wrong." I've seen viewers tell the cameramen to take babies away from "abusive" mothers because they mistake weaning conflicts for abuse, or think it means the mother is rejecting her baby. I've seen viewers tell the cameramen to stop the babies from "fighting" when the babies are merely playing. With Solita, I've seen viewers demand that she be taken to a sanctuary, even though there are no sanctuaries who would have taken her in Cambodia. Others told the cameramen to remove Solita from her second adoptive mother, Theresa, because Theresa didn't have milk "and the baby NEEDS to nurse." Still others told the cameramen to take her to a vet, mistakenly believing she couldn't survive the wounds from the times the long-tailed alphas attacked her. And of course we both know that viewers repeatedly told the cameramen to buy milk and feed it to Solita, not knowing these monkeys can't digest cow's milk, which always made the baby sick. Finally, all the viewers who told these guys to take dead monkey babies away from their grieving mothers and bury them, as if the grief of RU-vid watchers is more important than the baby's own mothers. I think it was you who described poor Solita as a "pet by proxy," put the quarter in and order a Cambodian to pick her up, handle her, feed her, etc. What can we do about this? The only two options, as I see it, are to stop watching or to get the channels shut down. We're never going to get people to stop watching, and I don't want to put Arroz in the middle of this, so I'm not gonna go into a whole thing about shutting them down here. I do know one thing, though, and it's that this is not a long-term solution for poor Cambodians to make money, not when there are 40+ Angkor channels and counting, and the "market" is reaching saturation. As more cameramen latch on to this trend, the situation gets worse for the monkeys.
Not to mention when they wanted Socchun to buy Xanax off the street to drug Selly or the kidnappers to remove Vivi or give the baby back to mom. The day before Solita got killed I posted that their, 'Please Mr Monk bring the baby a bottle of milk and food,' was one of the main reasons monkeys were getting flattened on the road. I would have never imagined it would have happened a few hours after stating that. Socchun could go to prison for life if he were caught with drugs that were not prescribed to him, which makes them illegal. They would put this man in prison for their inability to face the harsh realities of life in the jungle. I told them once that not all babies live to become adults and one thing about life that is certain is that no one makes it out alive, some get to stay longer than others.
The Xanax thing is completely new to me, but I believe it 100% because when baby Vivi died, one of the arguments people made to support burying her was that her mom was "abusive" and a "bitch" and "shouldn't get to grieve." So it makes perfect sense that they'd come up with some ham-fisted, ridiculous plan to kidnap the baby from her mother...and then what? She grows up as Socchun's pet? This is like Reason # 2,571 to stop interfering with the animals.
Tanna Arroz your right and so is Elizabeth. I have read some of Sochun's groupies ask him to Xanax, benadryl or otherwise barb or Mickie the "bad" monkeys so he can "rescue babies" or otherwise supposedly interfere "without being attacked"
I wish Tina and tiny could be in this Troup. Here if one goes without they all do. If one eats, they all do. Ti y would get so much more here but they would probably suffer the rest when they are on bottom and ,as you said, smaller groups fight more. Geez I sure would love tiny and Tina to be full up on soybeans. I really don't think they would be disappointed. It's a shame they go completely without when babies like toby get their milk no matter what. I really don't see why a baby that small would be affected if mom has to eat soybeans. In fact he milk should be that much richer. You can tell by his greedy little face stretching mom's nipples 6 inches that he's telling her to hurry up even as he's getting some. Tiny prob makes due on a few drops a time if that. She doesn't eat enough to support both of them. That's why he was scrounging as soon as he could walk
Thank you for the thought provoking video. (Finally got time to finish without interruption) It must be difficult to know "where to draw the line". Especially when seeing Nellie so thin, etc. The babies need to know how to forage to sustain themselves. But a helping hand of healthy food now & then....🤔
This world is so different than Angkor Wat, though. If food 'gets dropped' here, it's not the same. I love that one video of them all rushing at the seeds, that big clump of them like a tidal wave of fur. These monkeys are spaced out more, not crowded, it's a residential road, not a thoroughfare with a big tourist attraction stuck in the middle, with people parking and hopping out with cameras while elephants carry people in the background. Plus, to be honest, the photographer has a lot do with the behavior of these monkeys, he doesn't barge in like a steam train with Hostess Fruit Pie cart. He lets us see the monkeys with very little interference at all.
That was the second Angkor baby monkey who died within 3 days this week. And people are still defending the situation, as if having 40+ cameramen stalking and feeding those monkeys 24/7 isn't having a detrimental effect on the animals.
GozerTheGozerian Yes, Gozer, it's more than detrimental .. It's literally killing them. If not in traffic, then with obesity. I know macs aren't as prone to diabetes as capuchins are, but this situation with feeding has gotten waaaay out of hand. More videographers = more feeding to keep the " popular " monkeys hanging around. Compare Sweet Pea to his less popular contemporaries . I'm gonna quit now, before this turns into one of my rants.. Lol RustyAnne
29:32 and 29:53. Who are those monkeys? At 29:53 that big "baby" monkey is going for the breast just like Knotty used to. Sit and look at it, look mom in the face, and reach for a feel of it. I think that bigger baby monkey wants to nurse even while the baby baby is latched on. The camera panned away just as he (?) reached so I can say for sure. Did anyone else see that?
Here is another time the adults don’t eat the crust why? It’s not too hard or anything and normally the babies will eat it no problems. Do you know why @Arroz M
All you can do is wait on day for the truck to come and feed them. They've lost their way before you for food. And that's how humans fault. When the humans can't come the monkeys go hungry. And that's just not right.
Arroz Marisco I admit I wasn't familiar with this group, but with babies that cute, I will have to stay up to date lol! Thanks for sharing the video, Arroz!
Yes, Arroz I see a lot of similarities of babies playing like Dopey with Reddy. So affection and love to their moms. They do enjoy playing Jungle Jim on top of their mom's heads too.
This mountain that Monkeys live on.The Highway road built is kinda perfect for the monkeys to hang out ,but seems like more should be built for design for monkeys life style like a play ground and some shelter s for them to sat in and be off the road, the monkeys are a state treasure more should be done for them to enjoy ,Hope it happens some day!!!!!!! Your Work with the Beautiful Monkeys is Outstanding and Appreciation!!!!! Woww Great Work!!!!! Many Blessings!!!!!!

Good for Martha who didn't want to lose her baby and grabbed her and left. I like Martha and I realize she shows a lot of affection for her baby too. What I notice a lot of the good moms like Martha stare at their babies' faces as if in the wonder of what luck they have in their small little ones. They are mesmerized.
Part of me would be delivering fruit and vegetables every day, with enough for the little ones, but the other part of me asks would I then be part of the problem? What if I was unable to keep it up? Would they suffer more? As a nurse I consider my patients level of autonomy, it is always first and foremost any self aware being has a right to. To see to their own needs. It builds confidence. However, having said that, and I haven't researched the area yet, and am looking forward to learning more, I am so glad people bring them food, especially the sweet potatoes Mr. Marisco. Your videos of them are beautiful. Bossy is my favorite. You can see her thinking.
It's a dilemma there that I feel all the time. I have come to the conclusion that people should help out in the spring and winter when food is scarce. In the summer they should be encouraged to forage more. If you feed them all year round like some of the people do there the babies will lose their skill to forage over time.
Thank you Arroz. That was kind of realistic therefore very sad. And there are so many babies. And this new one with the umbilical cord still attached, do you (we) know the mother?
I love he has a job and that he's fitting in. I hate fights, but I think maybe they were noted and trust. I wonder if I'm making too much of this but fights seem to count here.
With all the boys that are born each year I'm surprised there aren't more smaller troops. I know the females stay with the troop they were born into but what happens to the boys? I saw a documentary that said the boys leave the troop at a certain age and go off on their own to either join a different troop or start their own. If this is true why dont we see more troops or more adult males in the troops? If anyone can answer I'd really appreciate it
GozertheGozerian: Hi Gozer! Still mad at me? Don't be please. I fixed my flub! 😉. Still nothing on Mr. Rock? He'll turn up eventually. He's just 'cruising'. 🐾🐾🐒
the local farmers or markets should donate the fruit/vegetables. I'm not sure where you are but here in the US you could get a tax break on it. Well, some places in the US that is
7:46 Ouch poor thing wonder what in the world happened that has got to be painful 😢! I hope it heals up ok! It's really sad to see the kinds of injuries these animals endure and have no choice but adapt to! I wish things didn't have to be that way for them!
Lil Batty is a talker boy (Lol) yet it scares me at times because he's not as shy anymore with humans especially and he loves to beg for food..I know they all love goodies but they seem a bit more dependent on them more so lately. I thought Arroz mentioned a month or two back that's why he doesn't always feed them for a few reasons which are, they won't get use to him always there feeding them every time they see him, they had been getting more handouts and wanted them to forage more, and also being this time of year where they happen to have a good amount of natural food(s) to forage on especially in the jungle. It's just scary to see esp such a smaller big baby monkey(s) begging and jumping up on cars, walking up to just anyone, and in fear they get hurt/injured during the process..I guess they are use to begging/getting random handouts so they know what they are doing. It just scary to know what could happen with crazies out there.
Hey Arroz I've noticed a few of the mother's only have one long nipple as opposed to two is that a genetic thing or has some of them had some sort of injury of trauma to one of their breasts? Just curious becuz it seems it might be a disadvantage or hinderence to there baby's getting as much milk as the baby's who's mothers have 2 full breasts full of milk. Although now that I think about it, it seems most babies always seem to prefer one breast to the other.
They eat a lot of things - mostly plant material but also a few insects. Bananas aren't their staple food as they only get them if humans bring them along to feed them.
WTF are you talking about? I was saying Mr. Rock deserves a happy life too, if you'll recall he was the monkey who was mutilated and had an arm and a leg cut off my some sadistic person. Arroz said he hasn't seen Mr. Rock for months. There was nothing negative about my post, maybe learn to read before you insult someone.
Thank you, Annie. And yeah, the last video in which we saw Mr. Rock was that sad one when Arroz had no more food left to give him. (That was months ago I think.) I've asked Arroz a few times since then and he says he still hasn't seen him. Out of all the monkeys, I felt the worst for Mr. Rock because he was so horrifically injured and yet he kept on going, even when it was painful just for him to walk.

Do these monkeys actually know or care what baby is what?
these monkeys look much more healthy than others l,ve seen on other sites, also the lack of human trash makes me think this might be a less human trafficking area,????
Just got to love that Princess what a little star. Mr. Buff is now Mr. Ruff, Skull head is just UGLY. @ 23:30 "Hey Uncle Arroz pick me up and give me a cuddle, Mum may bite you tho`" . LOL @ 24:30 " Just grab a quick top up here DAMN missed". Just brilliant Arroz Thank you.
Draw a Balance between you & animal... You must get out and Vote and if you don't. The person you are not happy with will certainly surpass any & all of your hate & needs out the window.... So jus aleays be really ..
