@@richardcranium5048 Coming Down Off the Money Bag/Song of the Dog from the Share the Land album. But they have about 30 hits they can listen to before they go to the deep cuts.
@@vickieray They did New Mother Nature as a separate track in a different tempo. The first time I heard it, I didn't know what it was. I was going crazy because I knew the words.
The Guess Who frequently put songs on the charts but have never been honored with entry into the Rock hall of fame (US). They are honored in the Canadian Hall of Fame. There are several groups who have not received this honor for reasons unclear to me. Another is Jethro Tull.
@@markhopkins222 And Foreigner...it is politics...Same reason Judas Priest will never get in despite being the second most influential metal band ever...
That hall of fame lost ALL credibility when they inducted Dolly Parton, despite her telling them not to include her on the votes, and rock not being what she sang.
"...smoke filled room in a corner basement, situation must be right, bag of goodies and a bottle of wine, we're gonna get it on right tonight!" Sounds like a pretty fun night!
Proud of these boys, they're from my hometown Winnipeg. As a kid we could hear them jamming in a garage down the street as we played soccer in the schoolyard. Even had us stopping to listen. Didn't know they would become world famous then.
My hometown boys from Winnipeg, Canada. They had a lot of great songs. Undun is one of my favs and another which doesn't get requested very often is Humpty's Blues. Burton Cummings is fire 🔥 on both. Also Running Back to Saskatoon No time Albert Flasher So long Bannatyne Cheers 🇨🇦
One of my favorites is Undun. There's a live version (I think it's from The Midnight Special-a TV show I used to sneak downstairs to the basement to watch hoping to catch performances of favorite or new artists). It was great fun to see you enjoy this one!
Always a favorite band of mine. Saw them 2/5/73 at NY's Philharmonic Hall, a ritzy, high-class theater more known for symphonic concerts. I was surprised that a rock group would be playing there. Great show, great acoustics. Randy Bachman was the original lead guitarist for the Guess Who, but he left after 1970's "American Woman" to form Brave Belt which evolved into Bachman Turner Overdrive. Other Guess Who classics - "Hand Me Down World", "Share the Land", "No Time", "Bye Bye Babe", "Rain Dance", "Heartbroken Bopper." Great band.
“No Time” is one of the songs that changed everything for me as a kid; everything doesn’t have to be this other way. “Toys In The Attic” (live in Kalamazoo) by Aerosmith was the first concert I saw in 8th grade, another example of changing everything. Not just everything, but everything forever.
@@tonydelapa1911 I love what you said about your first concert changing everything. That's how I felt at the end of every show. I never saw Aerosmith but I'll bet that was a hell of a show! Burton Cummings of the Guess Who is such an underrated songwriter. "Seasons change and so did I". Great stuff.
@@KennyY-bh3zl Thank you! I gotta say I agree: there were so many shows that changed how I look at things too. From seeing The Rolling Stones 16 times from 1981-2019, to Alice Cooper 15 times from 1978-20??. I sold my college books back to the bookstore at mid-term to go see Alice the first time, then played backgammon for money all weekend and bought the books back Mon morning for 3X what I sold them for. So many concerts. I opened a CD store in 1988 and ended up promoting contemporary jazz shows for nearly 15 years (5 years longer than the store lasted). Got to work with some amazing musicians. Back to Aerosmith…first of all, in 8th grade I had no idea there would be an opening act, which was Kansas. I had heard some of their music but was really thrown off, thinking these guys are just delaying when Aerosmith comes out and possibly shortening their show. 🤣 I’ve wised up since. After Kansas, the lights came on for 20-30 min. Then, it went from completely dark to THIS within a few seconds. This is the same tour, same unforgettable clothes on Tyler, that was my intro to rock concerts! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U9suQV31jTI.html
@@tonydelapa1911 Ha! Your story about buying back your textbooks with backgammon money is so cool! Wow, you saw the Stones 16 times! I've only scene them once, on the '82 Tattoo You tour at the Brendan Byrne Arena in NJ. The show was filmed and recorded for the "Let's Spend the Night Together" film and album. I've seen Alice 4-5 times, starting with '73. Those shows back then were tremendous. I don't think too many bands put out 4 great consecutive albums like Alice did with "Love it to Death", "Killer", "Schools Out", and "Billion Dollar Babies."
@@KennyY-bh3zl That was my first tour too but it was late ‘’81 for me in Pontiac, MI. I believe that was the first time they took Lisa Fisher and Bernard Fowler (?) out on tour with them as background singers. She was an epiphany for me! Wow. Iggy Pop was the first act and got booed off stage only a few miles from his home town. Santana was next and were hirting on all cylinders. Very enjoyable. I was so glad when they came out with that concert film. One thing the Stones were very good at is making you feel “if you don’t see them this time, there might not be a next time.” Good shows, every one of them. I envy those early concert of Alice’s that you saw! I loved those albums as well. WTMN was out a couple years before my first show and From The Inside was the current one. I really connected with that one; how well it was written and performed. That was the concert that began with a movie shown on a screen at the back of the stage with Alice in it. He was running toward the stage and burst through the screen and went right into Welcome To My Nightmare! Awesome.
I believe you should do a completely different Guess Who song next. "Follow Your Daughter Home" was released as a single (45 RPM) in 1973 and was on their album "Artificial Paradise" the same year. As usual, Burton Cummings does the lead vocals, but the song has what I would call a "tropical feel" to it. It is excellent.
Love your reaction to my childhood memories. So much good rock from sixties early 70s. I was so into this kind of music at a young age My Father bought me an electric guitar and amplifier without me asking. But I never really took to it. I wanted a horse so he let me ride his motorcycle. I drove it to school as soon as I got my permit. Only girl that did so at the time at my school. Lol. But then again He gave me my first shotgun and took me hunting at age 9. Still have it. I'm 65 now. Miss you Mom and Dad. Thank You. And Thank you Sir for the throw back into my life.
Can't miss with any one of Share The Land, No Time, Undone, Laughing, Bus Rider etc. All great and I'm excited for you getting to listen to more GW for the first time.
I can't find the words to express how great this song is or should I be saying these two songs in combo. I'm not sure. Something happened in my youth while this song was playing and it's burned in my memory. Burton Cummings voice is so unique and powerful. Great stuff.
That 6 note bass line transition is pure fire. Jimmy Kale is an underrated genius. Gawd, could he find the right "space" in which to play that instrument
My mom had their greatest hits cassette in about 1977 I was just really starting to pay attention to rock n roll bands, and they were one of the early bands I listened too. Clap For The Wolfman is another great one and there are many others. Great Reaction. Thanks.
The Guess Who had one of the truly great rock voices in Burton Cummings who went on to a highly successful solo career with such hits as Stand Tall, Break it to them Gently and You saved my Soul. As others have said The Guess Who's top songs were, besides American Woman, These Eyes, Undun and Laughing among others. 😊
just watched a vid filmed live at Montreux with an all star lineup, Burton Cummiings (from Guess Who) , Ringo Starr and his son both on drums, Nils Lofgren, Joe Walsh, Dave Edmunds, Todd Rundgren on guitars, Timothy B Schmidt Iex Poco ex Eagles ) on bass all doing Guess Who No Time song
Yo Biz, bro. you are quickly becoming my favorite person on the internet! You put out great content and undoubtedly the most prolific at putting out great product! You are a beast! A monster and I mean that in a good way. Please continue with your artistry and I will continue to be a loyal subscriber! Peace out! 👍🔥🎸🇺🇸😎
WILL ALWAYS BE A BANGER! And I already reacted to this a long time ago, because it showed I already hit the like! 😂 Ran across it again and felt like listening. My ears are so happy! Lolol Thank you.
No time is my favorite Guess Who tune. Burton Cummings on vocals and piano. Great talent. Randy Bachman from Bachman Turner Overdrive BTO on guitar. Great band i grew up on this stuff. Whole album is good. You can just let the whole thing ride
Bro we spent like that for a long time somehow we have been separated 11 when you're watching this and enjoying it that's the way it should have always been❤
Another great band with great songs, you’ll definitely hitting some great classics, definitely react to No Time, another song about smoking pot, at least that’s my impression of the New Mother Nature
🎸💯 The Guess Who⁉️ Great‼🔥 They did quite a bit of "feel good" music‼I'm hoping you'll continue on this run you've been on for the last several weeks‼☮ ❤ 🎶
I was a toddler when this came out. Man, I grew up with the most AWESOME music, and I say this all the time. Music has gone downhill in recent years. Never thought I’d see it happen.
This is another band from the early 70's to check out if interested "Golden Earring - Radar Love (Official Music Video [HD]" get ready to get your groove on 🕺💃🎹🎸
The Guess Who is an underappreciated band that is definitely in my top ten rock bands of all time. Got to see them live, and will never forget the experience. These guys were cool and oh, so talented.
"Life In The Bloodstream" is one of their underground hits and it is a very piano driven song, which makes it a bit different from most of their guitar led songs! But honestly they have so many great songs - "Sour Suite", "Guns Guns Guns", "Laughin'", "These Eyes", Albert Flasher", "Share The Land", "Hand Me Down World", "No Time", "Rain Dance" and on it goes!
This is the very first vinyl album I ever bought with my own allowance money…sometime around 1970. I almost wore the grooves out. I think the album cost me $4.57 lol
