What a ridiculous place to put the battery disconnect - right near the incoming water hook up? What could possibly go wrong 🤔🙃there?!?!?! Great troubleshooting as always Kenny !
Thanks for the explanation at the end. You are so right about getting all the info. Seems like folks often forget to tell what the did, if they even remember doing it!
Your correct, when you can get all the information from the last person who worked on or found a problem it makes it easier to track the origin of the problem and will save the customers some money on the hourly rate. I'm a retired mechanic and if someone has worked on something and the problem started after the last repair is work, that is where I will focus my attention usually. But sometimes the customers leave out critical details in what they have done out of embarrassment or just forgot, or are embarrassed in what they had done. I very much enjoy watching you and your blogs. Note: have you ever used a Power probe 4. It has helped me in the past to quickly diagnose 12 Volt problems quickly. I've made a ammo box with electrical parts, wire, volt meter ,fuse, breaker, component, box for quick electrical parts. (Parts for trailers light wiring and inside trailer wiring.)
I expected a failed inline auto reset breaker near the batteries. I’ve seen those fail too, so I keep a spare in our RV. As usual, good troubleshooting! I like fixing issues, but don’t like dealing with non technical people.
You did fine. But one thing ive learned or the years is they never build trailers using "logic". Why would you put a battery disconnect next to the batteries?????
your not dumb, you can never tell where these manufacturers put switches, shut off valves, fuses, Etc. RV's are all different and you'll never find a correct manufacturers wiring or plumbing diagram. Good job troubleshooting as always.
The fun never ends Kenny !!! I had one last summer first time buyers , brand new RV . Similar problems, after troubleshooting for one hour found out the master switch was off & the key hanging there just a swingin like the old John Anderson tune . Salesman never told these people anything about the Master Switch.😮 You & Mrs.HB have a nice Easter 👍👍🇨🇦✌️🇨🇦✌️👍🔧🔧
Largest obstacle in this business is communication. Yesterday I was all prepared to do a new AC. Installed the AC and grabbed my printed out directions to swap the Soft Start, but there was one extra wire. Called Tech support and realized I was swapping a Easy Start, not a Soft start. Seems like I'll never learn to quit taking the customers word.
I automatically thought it was the converter!!!! Happened to me, no 12 volt but 120 was working. This was a good one!!! What a stupid place to put a battery disconnect switch!!!!!
Great design of a travel trailer Kenny . A positive battery disconnect switch in the wet bay . The even had the nerves to put it under a water fill connection input. That could be an electrical shock waiting for a happening . LOL What was they thinking ?
Your video makes sense to me. Like you said, having a battery disconnect switch by the water system just doesn't make sense. That hillbilly doll is quick on his feet. Thanks Don
Doe’s battery disconnects only disconnects charge to battery? I would thought it would disconnect batteries from coach ? Good video, nothing goes as it should.
You have to start somewhere. It made sense to me. So he must have installed 6 volt batteries in series or figured out how to wire the 12 volt batteries in parallel. I’m surprised the manufacturer installed the battery disconnect switch in the water compartment, seems dangerous. Appreciate your videos. Have a good weekend.
@@hillbillyrv I run just one, 6 year old "neverstart" in mine. I bet this guy is fun to work with though , the one that hooked them 4 batteries together . " Think we can fit 4 in there , wire um all together ? Idk , lets try it ! " 😆
