Here's my biggest concern: what if (when?) Vinny breaks down again in a remote or dangerous area? It could be a disaster. I support a positive attitude but I also support a sense of reality when it comes to your safety.

My thought... since the DEF system is causing problems, could you ask them if they could bypass the DEF system to get Vinny running? The DEF system is not absolutely necessary for the engine to run. What about deep exploring the area that you are in? So far as I know, silversmithing is traditionally the thing in Puebla. I bet you could seek out a silversmith and get an amazing story. ¿What silversmith wouldn't want global exposure?

Sometimes our families disappoint us, but few do so as often as Vinnie does. He's a garbage vehicle, even though he is your house. Travelling with a completely foreign vehicle, across numerous nations who have never seen a car like this, will continue to be a nightmare. Just look at all the trouble Trudy has caused for Chris and Marianne. Sell Vinnie, or send him back to Belgium, and get an American vehicle, all of which are well-known and well-sold throughout north, central and south America.

I hope the van gets fixed soon. It’s a ford transit. Why do you call it European? It’s an American van. Does it run on diesel?

May not help now, but next time base your recreational vehicle on a Toyota Hilux. Everybody in the industry knows that and from casual campers to the Taibans in a warzone trust Toyota for the reliability, affordability and easy availability of spare parts and maintenance.
