there are two possibilities here: either with English being his 2nd (or dual) language with Danish, Nikolaj misspoke and said "manmaid," or he 10000% knew it was the wrong thing, knew it sounded silly, and managed not to laugh when he said it. Either way, funny as all hell.
That is my favorite part of any interview I've seen with these two together! Somewhere there's the full interview where they're answering these fan theory questions and the way this merman thing pops up is even more hilarious than just seeing this sudden cut into it. Still hilarious any way you can get it!
Tbh, from the beginning, while Emilia and Kit were still playing amazing, well written characters, I didn't like how either of them acted. Not a lot of people agreed with me, but I always felt like most of the time something was lacking in both of their performances. There's a plethora of people who did a better job than them, even some of the kids - obviously Arya, obviously NOT Bran or Rickon, but I would even dare say Sansa was slightly better done than Jon and Dany, in my unpopular opinion. Gwendolyn and Nikolaj, on the other hand, should move in together and broadcast their daily life via Internet.
They're singing the rains of castamere and the camera pans out to a wide shot of bodies everywhere, everyone has died but Brienne and Jaime muscled through to tell their story through music and ice skating...perfection.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is a different person around Gwendoline Christie. He is way more engaging, funny, charming and joyous in her presence, and its wonderful to see this both on GOT and interviews.
It's impossible to watch them and not smile!! I would not be surprised if double dates were the norm for those two. They have the most beautiful friendship.

@@jebes909090 There is always a dominant one in any relationship, and seeing Nikolaj, he doesn't mind Gwen leading the convo. He actually enjoys it a lot, you can see it just by the amount he laughs when he's with her. They both genuinely enjoy each other's company.
Danes can be very ironic and it seems like he was here, so I would take a little to her side and for Nikolaj its being nerves, focus and doing a big production in a 2nd language and wanting to keep your job.

You can see how interviewers can't handle that big amount of energy they release everytime they sit together...Hoold your breath folks, just ask the first question, sit and enjoy the fun!
I read in an interview once that said when they were filming the kiss, right before they started Gwen said to Nik "don't you fucking laugh" and I can just imagine it 😂😂

They did do commentary on some Game of Thrones episodes I think. 😁 Look it up if you haven't heard it. Also, Nikolaj's commentary with Michelle Fairley is even more hilarious.
Everyone called her ugly and I see people doing it all the damn time. I think she’s absolutely beautiful, unique, and has amazing talent! She glows with beautiful she has such a amazing attitude and personality and that laugh!!! I love her so much! I screamed in season 8 episode 3 and I cried when they tried to rape her in season 3 episode 2 or 3 I can’t remember which one.
She is the most beautiful mature woman i have seen in my life. And after watch this video i feel that she is like that super funny aunt you always want to visit. (It may sound weird but you know what i mean)/
I think she is stunningly beautiful!! She had to look all roughed up in the show for obvious reasons, she was running around after the Stark girls half the time. Her character is fucking cool though SHES A FEMALE KNIGHT. I don't know how people could say she is ugly.

I saw her on Craig Ferguson's late night show.She cracked me up.That laugh! She and Craig played off each other very well.It's here on RU-vid,you should watch it.
They're neighbors or co-workers. They get into things and find they have great laughs with each other. And there's this will they won't they vibe. But that's just the audience pining/misinterpreting their friendship. Because that'll be the story! A guy and girl just having a blast with each other!

I saw them together years ago in Hollywood for the Emmy awards at a hotel and they were like pees and carrots....they seemed like brother and sister and my mother and I loved watching them get breakfast and talk in our hotel lobby for a bit
One of my favorite scenes of any tv or movie will always be of Jaime knigting Sir Brienne. I was bawling! It was so amazing and it made me convinced that she would die in the Battle for Winterfell. I'm so glad she didn't die.
