"Call them a handful of "MFs" and a fistful of "Bs" under your breath!" 💀Lead, I am on the floor screaming🤣, but I got the message. You are so right. Thanks for all you do, and may GOD bless, protect, and keep you, Lady Lead, and your family. (And you too "Princess Pup"🐕) "Life is too short for bulls**t!" - Katt Williams)
As my pastor once said: you could be a quadruple amputee laying in a hospital bed, dependent on everyone. But! You can still pray to our Heavenly Father, with everything in you and that’s more powerful than any gift. ❤❤
When I put my pantry together, I thought back to my grandma and I’m 67. I’ve got a freezer full of meat and a generator, gas and solar, but I bought bulk salt in case all else fails. ❤️ If my freezer goes down that meat will be salt preserved.
Great point about the mental and emotional support. You may not have food or power but if you have someone with you that’s supportive and loving, makes a big difference. 🙏🏾🌹🕊️
We have a son with severe autism and that tends to be our shtf. Half the people out there treat us like we're criminals but the other half are like your wife and when they give us kind words of encouragement it means the world to us!!! When something "challenging" happens you feel like you done something wrong but you didn't that's just life and the world we live in. ❤❤❤
Such a barbaric mind set out there...but, you keep focus and keep your hand on that plow...hold on. May God be with you and your son now and always. ((((Hugs))))❤❤
Thank you Lead for that compassionate wisdom. The people will be in shock for a long time to come. One foot in front of another. It could take a year before it hits hard and they fold.
My husband has been talking to his grandfather over the last 12 days the most he has ever done in years. They are down in SC and have been without power for 2weeks. We ended up sending them a few hundred dollars to make sure they can get more gas for his generator and food. No one else in his family even knew what was going on. So my husband started telling everyone. We even offered to pick them up and bring them here (9hrs away). They don’t want to leave because they are afraid of their house being taken. So we have opted to be there for them emotionally via the phone, and helping with some financial support.
Invaluable details were provided Lead! TY for showing people how to prepare at a fraction of the cost! Stay ready, so you don't have to get ready. Prayers up for those affected by the storm 🙏🏾
The message you shared today is the most important message there could ever be. Empathy is our biggest gift we can give to anyone. Theres so much less love in this world than just 5 years ago. Thank you for reminding people about being human. Respect Sir!
Hi Leadfarmer & LadyLead. Thanks so much for the dry food information. Speaking of the bay leaves, you gave me an idea for around the house. I am going to put out some bay leaves for 🐜 ants, since you said insects don’t like it, to see if it works keeping them away.
Roll those bay leaves in ground cinnamon. If the ants crawl across the bay leaves, the cinnamon will burn them up. I should know, I've done this for years.
I guess the only difference with the freeze dried meals is that they are already cooked, you're just adding water and eating. They seem best for grab and go, imediate needs situations. The dried foods still need to be prepared, but they are awesome for long-term storage and you can customize what you save. My mother has those same dried food stashes even now.
Now, if you had a freeze dryer.. you could make those beans and rice the way you like them, then freeze dry and place in mylar with o2 absorbers. Much less water to rehydrate than cooking up beans from scratch and much better tasting than you'll ever find from a company :) Plus all that fruit you grow! Oh my, talk about bug out heaven 😊
Sending you and Lady lead much love and even though you're not good at emotional support the most important thing is that now you're working on it Lead😊farmer73 we all need uplifting and loving kindness. Everyone goes through things on a daily but real consideration can make a difference that's life altering for someone.
God bless you and your family...seriously, I mean that prayer. The scope of what you do on this channel is God sent. May God bless you abundantly for your willingness to do what you do. I started watching you, when all you talked about was gardening...my how the radar opened up. Again, God bless you.
May Jesus rain down favor and blessings upon you Lead and your family! You have been doing God's work for some time and I have learned so much from you!
Lead, Harvest right freeze dryer are the bomb. Pricey but well worth it. I also do the bucket method, I add dry spices for flavoring. Personally I add garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper shakers in the buckets.
LF: yo Mama ain neva lied about the bay leaves…. Stock up. Get the 2 lbs bags @ the Indian grocery stores. No need to open any size of the beans/rice. I’m part of the bean/rice brigade 🪖❤
LF73: Instead of the big researched freeze drier, get a small "$20" food dehydrator to only dry thin sliced onions, herbs, and seasonings to pack in their own mylar bags. Then pack portioned bags of straight beans, rice, and oats from bulk "50lb" bags. Because looking through all those packets in the retail bucket you showed, that is what they did (open them up you'll see there is a layer of spices, then a layer of beans, layer of rice. Make your own Teriyaki mix, Jambalaya mix, BBQ mix, Taco mix, Tea mix, sugar, salt, pepper, and so on in small packets the size of tea bags, put those in a bigger bag to keep track of them. Put them in a sack with a cordage sling since that carries easier than a big bucket. Might make the sack yourself out of the tough polyester house wrap sheeting (Tyvek, etc), a few people sewed up their own commercial-style hiking backpack from that material, straps zippers and so on. Use a bit of "blue tarp" or painter's drop cloth canvas.
Hey big brother you probably didn’t think of this. But buy meat buckets of the same brand to increase calorie count and to help ration food. By adding freeze dried food meat to your individual packets helps with rationing food. Just boil the meat first so it fully hydrated then add individual packets. I did this on RU-vid but my stalker had it deleted said it was hate speech. The freeze dried meats can also help with condensed soups. Just remember to boil the meat first then add the soup. This increases the rationing supply because you’ve increased the calorie intake but with shorter or smaller meal size. You can do this with freeze dried veggies as well. While boiling freeze dried meat you can steam your vegetables or freeze dried veggies and increase the sized of the meal. If you have a boiler or titanium pot with a steam tray, plus whatever condensed soup or boiling beans. Adding this meat and vegetables buckets will help you for long term. Plus give a better variety of flavors. You can tape different meat packs to ration packs ahead of time to feed your family or yourself. All you have to do is add water for beans, rice, condensed soups any frying will probably be what meat’s you bring with you, since you have a portable refrigerator or what you catch. Now plus your version packed, survival bucket, you can go even longer especially if you don’t have a lot of money if you’re forced to evacuate. Water is going to be most of the problem. SEMPER FI
I thank the Lord that you and your family are safe. I pray 🙏🏽 for all the other families that have been affected by the hurricane. 🌀 I pray many people were prepared.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Prayers 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿kept the People last night from all being blown away. There are Saints in Florida who had to be protected. Some of these are people already homeless before the storms. They are going thru trials and tribulations. The heathen never realizes that he lives under the umbrella of the protected. He trusts in his riches and does everything in His power to rid himself of the Very thing he inadvertently live among.😮😮😮
I am a “do-er”… I want to help in person! But with mobility problems that I have (from the last 4 years) I’m limited. So I pray…. I also send things as I can afford… but I have a limited income. It drives me cea5 to not be out there helping. I can handle the rain, the mud, eating cold food… and helping medically…. I can’t do as much as others but I can help. I just have to help locally.
I just got two of those Tub BPA free water holders. They were on sale. 13.00 good price. I had water shortage last time with Beryl. If my husband could not have gotten water at work, it would have been expensive for us. Deborah.
I like the Augason Farms cans of tomato powder, cheese powder, dehydrated onions, and red and green peppers to stretch meals. I wouldn't buy their pancake mix though, that's nonsense. They are in the back of the pantry shelves to fill in if needed. Only thing is they need to be used up in 12 months once the can is opened. For emergencies I have a food bucket. Not as nice as your bucket though. Different kinds of food storage for different situations.
Any store deli that sells pickled or boiled eggs will have 2 gal. buckets with tightly fitting lids. For those who cannot or do not want to do the 5 gallon size. Sell for a dollar or two.
You can not give what you do not know. But each of us can learn and realize what upset us in our childhood and not repeat it for our children. Each generation doing better is the goal. I remember my Grandmother's cellar, stacked high with canned goods and jars of produce from the garden. My Mother's pantry and then mine. Rotation . P.S found a jar of jelly from 1943 in my great Aunt's basement. No we didn't use it. The seal had been broken. Cleaned the jar and now it is holding green beans.
Pray, cry for them, call friends and family and tell them to get out and afterward if they need anything you can get for them. THE BIG THING that I thought of is: Do not go to stores and overbuy anybody not in the hurricane affected areas. If you do not buy over what you need, even if you are prepping go slowly, this way food inventory will be shifted to the affected area. This goes for hardware clothes shoes. This is one thing even the homeless and poor can help with. It is like the "wave"; all other parts of the country shifting supplies their way. Godbless all.
Talking bout them mamas and them beans ... They single handily produced the 60's Marching Upward Calvary that is still duplicated around the world 🌎. Fannie Lou Hamer ......Bustin Loose.
I bought a bunch of those #10 cans of various foods. Some freeze dried, some dehydrated. I wonder can i divide them up into serving sizes and store them that way. Does anybody know?
You can but they won't help. Buckets are not airtight. If you put the beans and rice in mylar bags, you could seal in o2 absorbers and then place them in buckets.
@@leadfarmer73 We didn’t suffer a great deal from the hurricanes but we’re in the area in Georgia where the chemical fire happened at the Bio Lab. We tried to bug out but the car that we converted into a camper car was damaged so we had to bug in instead. Now we are sheltering in place at night but in the market for a new bug out vehicle. Thank you for asking, also your recent video on the trailer conversion and hitch was quite helpful to us 👍🏽👍🏽. Thank you again ✝️❤️🫵🏽!
I can see how you are wired and for the short time I see your spouse I can tell she wired differently but I see and understand that point you made you need different personality and great minds to come together to get thru situations
