They Finally Got Revenge for my Levels 

Fun fact: originally the level had 2 full vertical anti’s that the player had to do every time they got trolled, but I spit them into smaller sections for my own safety 😬

Honestly, the signs were all there. Shieldser's troll style has two main hallmarks: 1. Liberal use of Kaizo blocks 2. Nightmarish antis at the very end of levels that you're funneled into at least four times. Going mad with power was essentially inevitable. The fact that somebody with such a twisted design philosophy could make levels that people still enjoyed is a rare gift -- shame to see them go.

I love the comment on the screen @3:50: "What if more blocks are fake?"

I keep on seeing the ON/OFF blocks that would disable the spike in all those getting over it sections and I just KNOW there is going to be some final part where they all connect. I'm calling it now.

I like how the timer is BOTH the antagonist and protagonist in this level. Clever.

If you watch carefully, you can actually see Carl's beard growing as he plays this level.

Hearing Tanuki Dan at the outro puts a smile on my face every time. Happy Mario was able to make this awesome friendship possible.

That was brutal, but I love how it adapted your Christmas level theme of the "trains you to do all of the getting-over-its separately and then CP2 is the gauntlet of all of them in a row but a little different." Great level

When you went in that cp1 pipe so innocently I said "Don't go in there!" out loud like it was a horror movie 😂

Although I think the desert wind at night is worse than the ice physics at night, this level served to teach Carl some lessons. Although I think this will only make him create a next level worse than Year of the Guts

Currently halfway in: I noticed the switch blocks and breakable blocks in each anti... So until proven otherwise, I'll consider each visit to any 'anti softlock' room to be practice as intended, until he has to climb all of them in one go :)

That look on carls face when he falls into a troll he knows about is just perfect

The spiritual successor to my Path of Oft-Replayed One Screen Puzzles (back in MM1): The Path of Oft-Replayed Getting Over It-esque Anti-Softlocks

Kaizo Mario World 3 was the reason I subbed to this channel, and that torturous level reminded me of how much fun it is to watch him play. No way I'd ever play that stuff, but fun to watch others do that.

At 18 minutes my prediction is that at some point the switch state changes to red, the blocks between each area blow up, and he has to do a super anti.

27:57 I facepalmed when I realized what the solution was to this. Like Carl I was thinking how can you slide under and everything else and complete over looked the spikes.

Regular troll levels are like.. super villains severely inconveniencing you with cool weapons that use advanced tech, but it's kind of fun. This is like strapping someone to a chair and making them listen to abrasive music for days. No spandex, no goons, or special weapons. Borderline actual torture. That takes guts. I've seen some evil levels in my time (been watching since the DAY MM came out) and this one feels relentless with how easy it is to end up in a REALLY time consuming anti. Not a "if you sneak in this really small window" anti that takes a long time and is kind of based on luck. An anti that takes THAT long to progress through (with Slider on repeat), just to die. Over and over. And the back to back antis. Brutal.

ah yes, Shieldser. A maker known for their lack of hesitation on putting guts- no, an entire viscera to a troll level. And this is titled "their final level". This is _definitely_ gonna be fun.

I don't know why but I actually enjoyed playing this course, it was unforgiving but damn was it fun and beating it felt so good

This level definitely gave carl PTSD, so whenever he hears any mention or reference to it, he'll just have a mental breakdown

It's easy to forget how good Carl is at platforming, and then he plays a level like this and makes those antis look easy.

I had the most fun watching this one than I have in a long time. 😄

When Carl said I tried so hard I'm surprised that there was no Linkin Park edit. You could have had Chester's transparent face popup singing those lyrics. I do video editing too if you have to keep an eye little things like that

I think the funniest thing about Carl in the getting over it sections (which tbf, I'd be the same) is he tries to recover towards something, and that leads to him missing something he can actually recover off

I remember the first time you played a revenge level that first viewer levels video was the one I rewatched so I come here with high expectations

At 25:54, when he mentioned "antis stacked," I suddenly understood. I understood why every spike at the top of every anti had an on/off block over it. I understood why there were breakable blocks at the top and bottom of every one. I stared the massive tower of antis in the face and knew in my soul that he'd have to go through them all IN SEQUENCE, ON THE TIMER, before he could beat the level. Brilliant...

Would've been great if the hidden block at the finish line was 1 unit lower, so that if you didn't jump on top of (or past) the flagpole, you'd get softlocked right there in front of the finish line. XD

Alright, I'm gonna float some evil ideas I've had, but never had the guts to actually make, in the hopes that someone with better design sense than me can run with them. 1: 4th wall rule, if you time out you restart. Then make it seem like a normal red coin level - except each red coin loops around, gets you both CPs, and sends you into a different evil anti. 2: In the rightmost room in a red coin level, have the player drop into an area with an anti, which makes Mario kick a shell on arrival then he get lifted into the anti area. The shell will eventually pick up the red coins offscreen. If you take too long doing the anti, you key death. There, is that evil enough for anyone to try?

Honestly, I didn't think the antis were stacked, but I saw the ice/cloud blocks in the second anti (and all the others) and I thought the reveal was gonna be that they were all fake, and instead of dying in the antis, he was actually supposed to avoid the spike + jump through the fake blocks (which he'd learned to do earlier in the level).

Satanic level design aside, the antis actually looked like fun platforming... And the fact that you get sent to one anti for every other troll you fall for is kinda good because you gonna need all the practice you can get, i love it

After CP2 couldn't you just go back in the ice block duck troll to skip some of the antis since the switch stats is different from the checkpoint?
