We stopped when they nerfed the payouts that's when i put the game down because I just couldn't watch it slowly die. Honestly the online is kinda trash anyways once you've done most of the extremely shallow "roles" hell all of them are fetch quests. "go get this stuff, now take it to your camp/shack and turn it into this by waiting, now go sell it and do it again (that's 3 of the roles) another 2 are "go pick this up off the ground and sell it, and shoot this animal 90 times with a tranquilizer gun and take a sample, now go sell it for a net loss because you used so much ammo".

Red dead online wasn't making as much money as GTA online. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out where to put your money in. You red dead fans don't look at the business side of it. Just want want and want but don't see the big picture.

The sad thing about all this is taking a step back and realizing the amount of people that worked tirelessly on this game to just to see it let go a few years later. They created a game with so much potential, where you could go on and on about all the things they could’ve done. Hats off to the online team for doing the best they could.

I was legit expecting Rockstar to add properties, building and houses. I was expecting them to add the option to give players an option to turn our Camp into a full blown house. Or they could've added lumberjack content. Gives the players an option to chop trees down AND BUILD OUR OWN HOUSES, BUILDINGS OR EVEN BANKS etc etc. They've legit killed a promising game that only lasted 5+ years but kept gta updated for the last 10+ years. The thing is, the people who lead the creative process with Red Dead Redemption 2/online have already left the company. The new GTA game will be mainly an online/micro-transaction game. This is what the company cares about most now. Don't be surprised if the story is lacking and/or family-friendly Rockstar has proven they only care about making money with the least amount of effort
Yeah, I have no hope for GTA6, those who demand GTA6 to come out killed it for me, as well as the way Rockstar has been doing things as well, I agree, I know Rockstar taking time on their games now unlike in the early 2000's but GTA5 is nearly 10 years, ten years of this game, GTA6 should of came out four or five years ago by now and we would be waiting for GTA7 by now, not just all that, but Bully 2 should of came out as well after GTA5 came out, a new Midnight Club too since its been over 15 years of that, the last time we've got a Midnight Club game is in 2008, we are well overdue for one too, I like Rockstar supporting GTA Online, but to me the Online feels bloated and dry, I don't mind them still supporting Online once GTA6 comes out and have the Online connected to GTA6 where we transfer or we don't need to transfer our characters, just upgrade them to the new and improved graphics and also able to access GTA5 content in GTA6 but in much better graphics and such, if that happen then I am happy, if not then no hope for them, so yeah
First: Not everyone who lead the creative process have already left. Second: Red Dead ONLINE is an micro-transaction game and has a great Story. GTA V is an micro-transaction game and is still a great game. GTA VI will have a great Story... the Online Mode will be an micro-transaction mess like every other Online Game. Like FIFA, Battlefield, COD, Rocket League, Fortnite.... It isn't really Rockstars fault.... They do what is popular (makes money)...like every other smart Company. I’m relieved that they finally manned up and told the community that they weren’t working on RDO anymore. But I won’t forget that they constantly dodged actual questions, very valid critisism and straight up lied for over a year.
My disappointment cannot be measured. This game has been a big part of my downtime these last few years. And all I truly ever wanted was to have consistenty. It completely baffles me how they can sit back and watch a community try to resurrect their game, while subsequently burying it every chance they get. When rdo first came out, I was so excited for all the future content they would add, such as heists, robberies, and other things that would allow players to feel like a real outlaw. Now I’m just sad thinking about how great rdo could have been if rockstar would actually care. I feel like ever since the ogs left, rockstar lost their brains and ambition. GTA online was very similar to red dead online during the beginning only difference is that GTA online kept getting developed to where it is today. Red dead online on the other hand is undeveloped and in my guess is because they weren't getting any monetary value they stopped the development of online because it wasn't paying out the same as GTA online(which is more developed).
I’m not sure what idiot decided it was a good idea to allow players make over 5 gold bars a day doing daily challenges. Frankly that needed a nerf long before it finally happened. I knew nobody was going to be buying gold bars when by the time I leveled up a role I made all my money back. The games economy still could of been fixed by offering expensive houses, more stable slots, more character slots, different types of wagons,affluent clothing items, etc but this new Rockstar company lacks any vision.
I honestly like both red dead online and GTA online but I think Gta is getting too developed GTA don't need another update after the car show DLC RDO was bear bones from the beginning even after the "beta" and after the naturalist update it still is bear bones add a proper economy for buy houses being a outlaw and maybe the possibility of Roleplaying would make the game on the same wavelength as GTA online but currently it underdeveloped

Even though I’m a GTA player, I’m gonna side with the Red Dead Online community because this is just ridiculous, Rockstar is literally ignoring what the fans want and just making themselves worse. Even though the updates in GTA online are great but they’re giving too much updates to it. What they can literally do is give an update to Red Dead Online and than GTA Online. They can at least focus on both games at once instead of focusing on just one game. This next update for GTA Online looks great, I’ll give them that, but at least give Red Dead Online a massive update that’ll have players enjoy the game even more.

I had so much fun on RDO over the years, me and my group trudged through all of the issues since release, almost no content in the beta, no animals bug for months and months on end, insane content droughts and disappointments. I'm sure we'll still hop on every now and then to play poker or murder all of Van Horn but the potential of RDO was crazy and as a massive western fan it fucking sucks to know that.
I feel sad for the next generation that won’t know how good Rockstar was. It only gets worse from here but the memories will persist, haunting us with how things could’ve been from here on out

It's always been that way. They didn't have the man power back in the San Andreas days and wanted to recruit but were forced to pull people from other projects by take two.

All of us veterans of RDO are absolutely heart broken and devastated by the news. How and why in the world would you wanna abandon a game that's not even 4 years old but support a 9 year old game. It make me more upset to think about it cause it's such a great game and deserves 20x better treatment than this. This game is where I became friends with some of the best people I ever met.

As a developer working on my first ever game its sad to see this No.1 thing for devs is to listen to the community and engage otherwise you lose touch with consumers and will not be able to keep your game product or service sustainable! Rockstar games is my childhood and I never seen them ditch or kill one of their games GTA+ IS ALSO HORRIBLE SUBSCRIPTION They should bring GTA ONLINE update in spring then red dead online in summer then add stuff to GTA5 story mode in autumn around november october time then when winter like december launch a rdr2 story update that would make both games playable and sustainable adding actual community requested features like r* editor in RDR2 its sad to see this and if i was in charge of r* i would do the plan above so players play a healthy amount of story and online plus maybe make adaptations of this and sustain it for a few years till it have enough stuff to then work on next game such as GTA6 and Maybe bully 2 or a sequal to LA Noir or just a new IP but also remaster majority of r* titles from previous years such as in 2020 launch a huge remaster and overhaul to GTA5 and RDR2 bringing huge graphic tech and exclusives for players to enjoy then remaster games form PS3 and xbox 360 era in 2021 then 2022 would be when i remaster PS2 r* titles then 2023 maybe PS1 titles from rockstar but also port majority of the games on mobile and by 2023 launch or 2024 launch GTA6 then 2 years after bully 2 as i would work on both equally using RAGE engine and Unreal engine 5 with help from the team at remedy to remaster the games and maybe bluepoint games to remaster it that way evryone gets what they want making it free accessible everywhere with loads of content games and music to enjoy. I f rockstar did this ad actually listened we would get new games from them way sooner already but also be open be at E3 conferences gamescom playstation events xbox events bring all r* titles to nintendo switch you know. It would make people so happy in my opinion whilst also limiting crunch overtime and increasing and putting privacy first and the players in mind. The oppressor mk2 nerf is several years too late. Lot of us have moved on from this dumpster fire of a game especially on pc where it’s still filled with modders and hackers. Devastated with this news, I've clocked over 900 hours into Red Dead Online and just love the world and much nice group of players I've met vs gta online's free roam. Seeing the shift to focus on 6 and leaving the plot for RDO halfway done is pain.
Rockstar Biggest Mistake on RDO is introducing Gold as a Second Currency… They should’ve used Cash as the Main Moneymaker similar to Shark Card Sales and make collecting gold as “bonus cash” instead of a secondary currency…. Because of this, RDO is abandoned due to the lack of sales. That’s their fucking problem. What idiot decided to use Gold as a fucking secondary currency when all you need is cash?
The "problem" is that in RDO isn't enough stuff to buy that the player really needs. All you really need is two revolvers/pistols, a sniper rifle, a shotgun, a Varmint (and only if you're interested in small game hunting) and a bow and you can do everything that the game has in terms of PvE and PvP. Everything else you can own is either cosmetic or helps making more money which you don't really need. Even the the horses don't really matter as they all have nearly the same speed, stamina can be refilled by calming them and even high health won't save them from explosives/shotguns/snipers. Meanwhile in GTA it highly depends on how you want to play. If you like racing in multiple classes you need some cars. If you play PvP different vehicles could be usefull in different situations and most weaponized/armoured vehicles can even have a purpose for PvE. Combine that with how easy it is to make money and you have a completely broken economy. There's a reason why we have FOUR "currencies" ($, Gold, Token and Capitale) in the game. But still I can't really blame them for the gold, as the game would be considered gambling in lots of countries if you could buy RDO$ with real money and then play poker with it. And if we had only Dollars but the rest of the game is the same, the problem would still be the same. The point in which we can absolutely agree on, I guess, is that designing a system with two currencies went totally over their head.
20:00 I 100% agree the first update that solidified gta online's future was the heist update in march 2015. If I'm not mistaken, the players at the time before the update had similar complaints about gta online compared to red dead's players currently. The thing red dead online needed was an update that can solidify it's future and then be worked on with future updates. Maybe even flesh out the roles as time goes on and give the characters you meet in each role more prevalence. This would make the game feel like the vast ever-evolving world rockstar keep mentioning.
As a Gta player myself when I I read the newswire I felt a mix between joy and sadness because Rdr had potential and could've have a lot of things to offer and even though I don't play it I understand and felt for those who do and enjoyed playing. At least they admitted about killing a new game and idk what to say it's kinda awkward to have a Dlc for Gta while Rdr in the other hand technically gets a middle finger this is sad :/
As a gta player I honestly didn’t care about anything they said. I play gta once every few months and I never touched red dead so that part was completely irrelevant to me. I just want a trailer for gta 6, everything gta 5 related is whatever at this point. I did everything the game has to offer nothing new excites me like it did years ago. This is just another proof that the internal managment at Rockstar studios must be a total disaster and that they really REALLY need to be concerned about the quality of the next GTA... Anyways, for a company of this size, with multiple studios, not being capable of putting out something new in years and keeping multiple projects at once, it is an absolute embarrasment. And still, it is consider a 'top dog' of the industry....

As a GTA fanboy with 900 hours on online, this is straight down sad. I was looking forwards to buying red dead multiplayer, but now I see this. I don't even think I can keep up with online because of the constant grind, my friends also stopped playing it, but RDR online looks like lots of fun and something good to play with friends. Sad to see that game go down the drain like that.
RDO is still good it can keep you going for a months but the story is better in my opinion if you like a story driven games this one the or its is the best if don’t like slow story yea I don’t blame you reddead is more of a relaxing games better than having to be scared that someone will come with an MK2 and blow up you’re cargo
When I saw this newswire i knew i wanted to hear your interpretation of it. It's a tragedy about RDO, but I'm excited for changes like this to gtao. And I'm proud of rockstar for not bringing this update to only the next gen, or locking it behind gta+ lol. I think it's a step in the right direction, after multiple running leaps in the wrong one.
Don't get me wrong. I love RDO. I have played all of the content on PS4 and Xbox one. Love the game. Upset that they have neglected the massive potential the game has. I mean.. red dead was a groundbreaking game for me, and they could have done so much.
As a GTA Online Player, I should be Happy for the Next Update. However I'm actually upset. I'm upset because Rockstar has destroyed an amazing Game and stabbed the RDO Community in the Back. Also even if the Next GTA Online Update is locked behind GTA+, I'll never buy it. Like you said Professional, Rockstar doesn't deserve my Money after what they've done to the Red Dead Community.
Next update was announced for all platforms which makes it really unlikely that it will be locked behind plus. It may be right to expect the worst from this service but for now it looks like R* is still figurering out how far they can go with GTA+.
I swear it’s like over the past decade game developers have started to care less about their games it’s sad I just wanna go back to 2010-2017 and never go back man it’s sad honestly
It's kinda sad that RDO is abandoned in favor of GTAO and "the next GTA game", but at least Rockstar admitted the truth about it. Still kinda sad about it. (from a GTA Online veteran) I'm probably gonna join Pro's RDO streams after this.
Honestly, I would be happy with an update that would give us the tools to create content on consoles. Let us be creative instead of getting absolutely nothing. I see PC people creating content, ranches and stuff. I would like to have that ability on Playstation and Xbox as well

It's a shame the game died the way it is, As a GTA, Red Dead and open world fan in general this is heartbreaking as I loved the idea of an open world wild west online game. I grew up with Red Dead revolver and when first redemption came out it was huge for me and my brother as we both loved these games. Undead nightmare was fucking awesome and really showed that you can do a lot in time period based games regardless of realism or accuracy. I really hope Red Dead Online one day gets the The FiveM or need for speed world treatment where the modding community took over and kept the game alive with unofficial servers that in all honesty are better moderated than most official game servers. Really shows what the fans can do when the developers don't care to do so themselves.
the abandoned the game when they nerfed the daily challenges. the had a update that made the entire game a fucking lifeless wasteland for 2 WHOLE WEEKS.
What makes me mad the most is that they told us they were going to purposely take the game slow and that’s why we were stuck only having a camp for so long and now we will be stuck there forever.
@@Surkuro6095 I just wish the GTA community isn't as split up as it has been for the past couple of years. I may have ridiculed the griefers in the past, but I realized that's one of the only ways they can have fun in GTA Online, and it's both inspiring and sad at the same time.

Rockstar has the community that's dedicated to their game, many devs and other companies would kill for. I truly hope another game can take in the RDO community since Rockstar doesn't deserve them.
The thing is, RDR2 took like 8 - 10 years to develop right? So if their last big game was released 3 years ago, and GTA VI is going to be bigger than red dead, how long are we going to wait? 5 more years at least?
They definitely waited until the perfect moment to announce the discontinued updates on red dead. They are adding updates to GTA that people have wanted for years. Now all the GTA super fans will be talking about how good daddy Rockstar is for giving players what they've wanted for 6-8 years. At least those who play red dead finally have some confirmation.
One of my favorite things about RDO was the horses. I own so many and a ton of attention and detail was put into their animation 4 years ago. Now there's barely an excuse to even come back and ride on a horse.
The hard cold truth is they made a business decision. Most of us work for a corporate company. The decisions and screw ups Rockstar made are no different to what our own company bosses do. At the end of the day they're all the same.
I say we should be a lot more critical about the updates and stuff of gta online as a whole. If rockstar noticed half the fan base leaving, they’d most definitely do something about it.
Dude half the fan base doesn't even play red dead online there too busy waiting on gta 6 single player has always been there strength deal with it, if rockstar make that bad people gonna be mad
RDO is getting contract missions with gameplay changes (rebalancing things) GTA Online is getting contract missions with gameplay changes, but with some new cars that cost 5 trillion dollars. It's kinda funny Rockstar is essentially doing the same thing for both games
I will say that when I first went to RDO I hated my experience. This was back in 2020. I decided to give it another shot this year and I had a blast for a longish amount of time and I'm really disappointed that Rockstar isn't passionate about the game and only updates an old out of date game, just because of their Scam Cards (Shark Cards) and GTA -.
There's an old country quote: "When you're invited to the biggest party of the year, you dance with who brung you." GTA is the one who brought Rockstar to the party and that's just the way it is.

I stopped playing gtao a few months ago after taking a year long break from it I got so tired of the ddos attacks and the sheer amount of children who play the game rockstar can add whatever they want to gtao but what will make me come back is better network security and a legit crackdown on players who use cheats like godmode instead of targeting people for money glitches the state of gtao paired with the neglect of rdro has left a bitter taste in my mouth and I honestly don’t want to play gtao it’s become such a wasteland full of hackers and people who live to annoy you

Yeah fuck GTAO it ruined rockstar and everything they've made. Only companies who can actually do shit now is Capcom, Insomniac, and Sucker punch they're the the only ones that know what the fuck their doing and haven't Fallen into greed yet
Btw just so everyone is aware, R is still R... The reason for all these positive changes are to gain player trust, just so they can screw as many ppl as possible with gta 6. Since as of right now, they wouldnt have nearly as many players as they'd like after everything they've done.
My rant. I've put over 3,200 hours into GTAO and I've been bored of the game for a few years now even with actually getting content. That could be me just overplaying the game, but seeing as basically 99% of my time on GTAO was when I was a teenager with not much to do, it's not like I had anything better to do at the same time. RDO felt fresh and fun. Great graphics, gameplay, and community at least for the most part (in my opinion). All the game needed was just some more content (no shit) and I personally feel that if RDO had even half of the amount of content GTAO has received, I could've easily put 3,200 hours into RDO. No way to know now. What could've been never will be. It personally puzzles me as to how you could drop that quality of a game, let alone it's potential, while it's basically 1/3 the age of GTAO. No shit it's not going to make the same amount of money as GTAO if all Rockstar does is work on GTAO. Oh wait, they've been doing that for 8 going on 9 years now. It's almost like RDO has been out for only 3 going on 4 years. Screw us for expecting them to care about their newest major title. (No, I'm not going to count GTA E&E or even GTA Trilogy as both of them are just the same thing but on the new console) From what I've learned here is screw innovation, and new things/creativity to their newest game, money is more important to them, even though they're a multibillion dollar company with seemingly endless pockets as GTAO alone has made them god knows how much. Alright I'm done ranting. Could've said more, but then you'd basically be watching Professional's video again, except a written version lol.

I understand that he's really upset about Red Dead Online is abandoned because of GTA Online updates are getting massive. GTA Plus subscription sucks so hard. I'll give Rockstar some credit for GTA Online update and admitted Red Dead Online abandoned. I'm sorry to hear that, Professional man.
In my opinion, I think cockstar should give RDO to another company that needs it, a company that'll update it and expand the potential of a wasted game. I used to really enjoy playing it and it's heartbreaking knowing it's over, all the grinding for nothing
