Something ive started to notice and am not the hugest fan of is whenever the show brings bracia in, the topic of race is constantly brought up. I kinda wish the show can allow them to just hang out just like ginny hung out with her white friends without constantly mentioning race. It feels like theyre just using the dark skinned girl to send a message or something.
that is so true. it also pissed me off that in s1 Bracia introduced herself to Ginny and then she was just ignored the whole time and Ginny stuck with her (terrible, let's be real) white friends. Then the moment her white friends ignore her for the shit she did, she goes back to Bracia. It is so fucked up...like finding yourself is one thing but i don't like how they did that
The car scene between Georgia and Ginny always makes me so emotional! You can understand why Georgia felt like she had to kill Kenny but also saying that she did it for Ginny makes Ginny feel even more responsible. Like it's her fault Kenny is dead. This season is so much better than the first, I also love the character development we get for so many characters, especially Ginny, Marcus, and Abby. I love how supportive Marcus is, and how he's always there for her.
ngl i immediately burst into tears when Georgia started having her panic attack i dont think ive ever seen one so eerily like mine before. I have no idea how she was able to act that out (an hope she didn't actually give herself a panic attack doing it) was so real and heartbreaking.
That Hunter song actually sounds decent. The writers probably felt bad for how they did him last season since the actor got a lot of hate for the scenes and acting. The car scene really got to me when I first watched it. This season really is so much better
As someone who self harms, that part of the show has been hard to watch but at least I don't feel totally alone because you guys are there too, so thank you.

As someone else who has self-harmed before more than once, it's really hard to stop, isn't it? Especially without therapy. I just hope Ginny self-harming doesn't trigger you
The problem with Georgia killing Kenny is that even though she did it to protect Ginny, she still killed someone. By law it’s a murder or a homicide which Georgia could go to jail for. Then, because Ginny was aware that it happened and never got the police involved immediately……although she was the victim, she’s also unfortunately guilty for being aware that a crime happened, and not reporting it. That’s why she feels so horrible about the situation because her mom did break the law by killing someone, and she’s an accomplice to it.
Exactly, and it's why I'm grateful that Ginny at least has Marcus to talk to about this. As Ginny told Padma, there's stuff she can't talk about even with her own therapist, because Georgia's actions limited her in that way. Because Georgia has involved her in criminal acts since she was a toddler, at the prom dress store, and Ginny had no say and had to trust in her mom. Was it still risky for Ginny to tell Marcus? Yeah (though less so given how hearsay testimony works), but she needed to for her own sake, and it's no more of a risk than Georgia stealing and framing a child so she can get into a social club or lusting after another high-priced dress as a sign that she's made it (I understand it from the comfort and pride part of Georgia who has had so little for herself- it's just that it does make "everything I've ever done, I've done for you and Austin" ring a little more hollow).
Ginny should’ve just enjoyed being a teen in a new town or whatever. She doesn’t have to know everything her mother did or will do. Just stay a teenager and enjoy life. But because she begged to be “treated like an adult” she now has adult problems that she cannot handle. And Georgia granted may have done the illegal thing. But it was her secret to keep. And Ginny begged to know the secret.
@@taylorferrow7248 Ginny begged to know the secret about her mom's childhood, which Georgia complied with (and telling her they were broke). Ginny did not beg to know about a murder because she didn't know there was anything there- Jesse the PI told her and that's how Ginny found out. That's what traumatized her and started giving her panic attacks.
@@SLift-mn8hi never said she begged to know about the murder. I said she begged to be treated like an adult.. then the first adult thing happened and she folded. All I’m saying is there is a beauty in enjoying your childhood/teen years. I know from experience. Sometimes being treated as an adult comes with adult problems.
This show can be cringe but it’s honestly really good. And they say when you experience trauma it can keep you mentally at the age it happened. So with georgias past and her trauma with SA having Ginny so young and being stuck in multiple DV relationships it makes sense that while we want her to be Ginny’s mom she’s also still stuck in the mindset of a teenager a lot and acts similar to Ginny when they fight and such when she’s meant to be the older and more mature adult in the relationship.
Jeez, Ginny was so rude to Marcus this ep! And actually has been a bit snippy all season... And she is such a mess. When she revealed her mom was a murderer then tried to hook up with Marcus, then started crying... Yikes. But I get it, she's going through a lot. Marcus is so sweet to put up with all her crap tbh. His reaction to the confession was a bit weird, but even weirder was Ginny freaking out when he asked who Georgia killed. Of course he is going to ask that! He should have been asking more questions! Maxine is literally so annoying this season! I used to like her but this season she is being so over dramatic. Especially when she showed up in the hallway and then was so rude to Abby... I AM OVER HER. It's hard watching all the fighting between Ginny and Georgia this season so I was glad for the ending of the episode when they sorta smoothed things over. Georgia's speech was good and I wish she had explained the rape and abuse earlier so that Ginny would understand her better but I guess she got her point across. Georgia does need to be more honest with Paul though if she wants that relationship to work. Not necessarily about killing her husband but about the abuse etc.
So rewatching this and remembering how much I dislike s2 just because of some later episodes but also I’m realizing Marcus is not ok so early on in this season
Yeah, Ginny should totally be chill after finding out her moms a murderer who used her n her bro to commit fraud n cannot even mention it in therapy so has to handle it all alone..like cmon 😅😂
people who say this shit and act like georgia is a perfect mother or something are so annoying. you and i will never go through something like ginny is, we can't know how'd we react to our mothers being murderers and otherwise criminals.
@@lily-zv8voit’s crazy how much easier it is for ppl to empathize with characters like Georgia or Abby, but not Ginny. All the characters are complex and have morally gray or annoying personality traits just like real ppl but Ginny gets a lot more misplaced hate in the fandom. I wonder why🤔
