Another fun and beautiful fact is that when Messi retired for Argentina's national team, one of the reasons Messi said he came back, was because of all the child letters they sent to him, and one of those kids was Enzo Fernandez the winner of the golden boy award. There has been a thousand coincidences, "fun facts", theories, signals... I cannot even tell you how many weird things I've come across... Even brands of beers, TVs, sport brands and even... A mayonesse brand (?) started making commercials about this, coming up with the weirdest conclusions, that started with a picture of Maradona raising the World Cup with one hand on 86' and signaling, casually, the Qatar flag with the other hand, and followed with fans pointing out Canadá clasifying only to world cups Argentina won, to the Obelisco being 86' years old, to the 5 cups card used in Truco and Tarot made by Messi winning his first trophy on his fifth final and argentinian players De Paul, Acuña, Pezella and Lautaro forming in line during penalty knock outs, creating a very visible line of 78', 86' and 22' numbers... Us, argentinian as a whole, believed this World Cup had Argentina written all over it. Kid you not. We REALLY believe this bullshit.

Should've mentioned the 123rd minute save. The save itself could possibly be the most impactful save of footballing history. If Kolo Muani scored, France could be the first back-to-back European world champion and possibly the first team to make it 3 to world cup finals in a row, and since Dibu saved it, it's history.

Scaloni winning the America Cup agains America's Cup title holder BRAZIL in the MARACANA, winning La Finalissima against Eurocopa's Cup title holder Italia and World Cup against World's Cup title holder France of Mbappe! Not even the most optimistic fan would have believed that could be possible. And Messi being constantly compared with Maradona, but somehow always in the second place, suddenly rises up to become the GOAT without a single discussion point, not even in the attitude, and in the most fantastic possible way. This is just incredible and he has taught football fans around the world that dreams can become true, just like Maradona did in his time. Forgot a key point between the Copa America and the World Cup. La Finalissima was a match between Argentina (Champions of America) and Italy (Champions of Europe). International press dismissed Argentina as a clear candidate for the World Cup due to the fact that all the unbeaten games were against American teams, not Europeans, which in their eyes was not as impresive given that we had no chance to prove ourselves against a "top team". Argentina won 3-0, destroyed Italy and move from a really good latin american team, to an actual winner of the World Cup. Really good video bro

@@juliofranciscogomezstoppel1860 You see that? You're memory is not that good. The French substitutions came in the first half, before 45 minutes. Geroud and Dembele were subbed off because Mbappe wasn't tracking back, causing an overload to occur on the right side of the pitch. This opened up the left side, giving Di Maria space and room, which forced Dembele to have to defend one on one. Terrible situation. The French substitutions fixed that because Thurman and Muani are much more defensively responsible and effective, though they are not as brilliant offensively. Mbappe moved centrally so that his lack of defense wasn't an issue. When France did this, despite Di Maria still playing, he ceased being effective. If you don't believe me, then you need to rewatch that game. I'm 1,000 percent correct.

The entire left flank became weak after he went off. France didn’t need to worry about Di Maria’s flank anymore and could just focus on defending the middle where Argentinas main offence was while also sending counter attacks. France was constantly sending long balls to Mbappe after Di Maria’s substitution. Taking Di Maria out gave France one less problem to deal with and it’s no coincidence the SAME thing happened vs the Netherlands. Di Maria was undoubtedly a essential key for that Argentina team
@amogussex9921
@amogussex9921 Год назад
Di Maria wasn't 90 min match fit for the tournament, he was very out of gas by the second time so a sub was in order, but replacing him with Acuña was misguided. Argentina went in with the right idea, France is almost exclusively a counter attack team that heavily rely on speed and efficient balls, so their solution was to simply disallow them from playing at all and pressing nonstop. It worked beautifully, France was hardly there at all... for the first 70 minutes. As soon as Di Maria left and they switched to defensive mode they struggled to hold unto the ball. They were still doing okay until Otamendi had a brainfart and threw all tbe momentum away. Argentina only needed to hold on for 10 minutes if it hadn't been for that. By that point they were all tired, and one slip up from Messi was enough for coman and Mbappe to turn it into the equalizer. That's why it was such a bad choice, France are a very efficient team when it comes to their shots and plays and being defensive against them just isn't good enough, given enough time, at some point or another they will find a way to score. Thankfully for Argentina they pulled thru from sheer grit and superior ball control (and the fact that they're the best penalty shootout team, not just in this tournament but in history, literally no one has won more shootouts than Argentina) but they really need a good winger to replace Di Maria when he's gone.

His childhood friends were killed in a shootout, just when his mother prohibited him to go play with them, and even more incredible is that in his poorness he took penalties for money, as in clandestine bets. He is an excelent penalty kicker, doesnt even look at the goal to score, and i feel like his life's story put him in there to take that last shot to win the world cup.

The video , the narrative...wow! awesome. I cryed after the final, I couldnt believe that I could see Messi and Scaloneta taking the coup. the final match was epic. simply epic. France played well from the minute 80... they though that it was going to be easy, and realized that it wasnt. we goy our 3rd star, coup is in south america. and sth magic happened with this team. Many countries around the world were supporting Argentina, countries that I've never expected. People from countries and realities too differents than south america reality were supporting this team, using our colors as hope. as an Argentinian to see countries weaving my flag as it were theirs, happy and celebrating made me feel proud and shocked. I dont know if another team in this worldcoup or ina anothers worl coup before got love afection as la scaloneta.

Love that you included Cuti's affectionate kick to Martinez when he made that great save against Australia.

You could have talked about all of the polemic stuff behind the matches such as Van Gaal, Van Basten or Mbappe's trash talking south American football and other epic stuff like how Montiel used to participate in Penalty shootouts for Money in the hoods. Anyways great video, greetings from Argentina, love your content!! 🇦🇷💕

Olympic Gold and U20 WC.. I remember the time Messi was mocked by his haters for winning only these 2 But now Messi has.. World Cup Copa America Finnalissima U20 WC Olympic Gold Notice how those 2 “worthless” achievements makes Messi’s International Resume more complete 😂🤷🏻‍♂️ He has now won every trophy in every international tournament he competed in 🐐

This was an awesome video, but I wish you could have mentioned Emi Martinez's last-gasp save of Kolo Muani in the Finals. Without that save, the dream would have died a cruel death.

Literally every game was painful for us..had to fight on very game. But the team got stronger and together with every game played. Each player was fighting to win for Messi and Argentina 🇦🇷. The team with few superstars but strongest chemistry won. The final piece of Messi’s jigsaw puzzle is now complete. The dream of all the fans has come true. The GOAT 🐐 Lionel Messi…there won’t be another one like him. 🙌🙌🙌

Told everyone long before the tournament started that Argentina would win the whole thing, and after the introductions of players like Enzo, Macallister and even Alvarez, I started getting more confident. The croatia game in particular is the one that I was the most confident in. I even called a 3-0 win for Argentina. Argentina were up against “the best midfield “ of the tournament but people forget that Messi is basically a midfielder nowadays, it was never a contest from the beginning. Then the final was quite possibly THE BEST football game in history. It was the world cup final, Messi vs Mbappe, late drama, extra time, pens, literally EVERYTHING. The Mbappe volley is the goal that made my heart drop, that finish was top top class, genuinely scared me. But in the end there was always going to be one winner. Messi showed why he’s the greatest of all time. There was never a debate. Winning man of the match in every knockout game, scoring in ever ko game as well, and winning the best player of the tournament. People act like those penalties weren’t insanely high pressure penalties, yet he made them look so easy. We’ll never get to see anyone better than Messi.

An antisocial me felt so compelled to be amongst "supporters" and went to a watch party at the football stadium "Drv Pink Stadium" here in Fort Lauderdale. It was epiccccccccc!!! Stilllllll soooooo ecstatically happy and on a high! Much Love from a Jamaican🇯🇲who has been a fan since I was little girl when they lost in 1990..I still have a pic of Maradona in my photo album with the newspaper clipping saying "you're still the greatest"... I've been waiting all these years too... Went to South Africa for the World Cup in 2010 and was beyond an incredible feeling seeing both Messi and Maradona 🔥🔥 That was beyond a dream. I wish he was still alive to see this. I know he was rolling around happily in his grave! RIP Maradona!! Love Argentina!! Love Messi!! WORLD CUP CHAMPIONS 2022!!!🎉🇦🇷🏆

We are all champions. Those who were born in Argentina. Those of us who were born elsewhere and were adopted by Argentina. Those who feel the light blue and white shirt in their hearts. Those who love Messi. Those who truly love football. I am from Ireland, but I lived most of my life in Argentina, and I can tell you that there is nothing bigger than this.

Family decisions. We moved when i was 5. My mom, italian, loves that country, her parents lived there. My dad, irish, agreed. I'm now living in Dublin again, studying at the university, but my parents are still there and i went to visit them during the world cup, so i got to experience all that madness in the streets. By the way, i'm also a big River Plate's fan. Best club in Argentina, by far.

@@Candy_Skywalker wow. awesome story! I'm from the USA but in Romania now, I'd live here or somewhere in Spain or the Balkans. while I've been touring Europe I got to see Barcelona FC , AC Milan and Bucharest FC. I saved my whole life for this trip! I'll make it to Argentina and south America later in life for sure! I'm scouting places where I may wanna live someday! Great story you have. I was in a bar in California cheering on Argentina with friends when they won the cup 🏆 !

@@AndrewEvenstar I have visited many cities, and I tell you that Buenos Aires is up there with the best in the world. Argentina's problem is its economy, which makes it difficult to live there and earn in pesos. Quite the opposite if your salary comes from outside the country, as was the case with my family. If the plan is to go as a tourist, i recommend planning to stay for a long time, because not only Buenos Aires is attractive, Argentina has many natural beauties and it is a very large and varied country. Beaches, mountains, forests, snow, waterfalls, deserts or any landscape you can imagine. Seriously, it has everything. I hope one day you can be there. If it does happen, don't forget to go to a rock concert and a football game. Argentine fans are at the highest level of partying and madness.

Great video but you have to show the biggest and most momentous save ever in Football History which was Martinez’s save at the 123 minute mark. That saved the WC for Argentina and changed Football History,

Beautiful video I have come across! It's very motivational. It's true that Argentina is the only team which suffered a lot after 1986 World Cup win. Even though they performed well in many tournaments like 1990 and 2014 WC, they had to lose in the finals. And who can forget the Copa America final loss against Chile? They have stood up and come back as the World Champions now. Hard work and determinations can take one to the top. Needless to mention Argentina always had skillful players.
