The music of the fifties and sixties got us boomers ready for the soul of Motown as adults. Thank you for your sincere reactions. Bobby is my fave and he always packs a stick of dynamite in every performance. We were blessed to have had the ability to revel in his talent and soulful delivery.

THis is Bill Medley ,Buck was the man who replaced Bobby .I think it was Phil Spector who produced Soul And Inspiration, and You've Lot That Loving Feeling.Phil wanted a wall of noise and that is why the back up singers in those videos hummed and complimented the sound of the instruments as well as the lead vocals.

They were doing a show in Southern California and a young Marine Brother in the audiance stood up and shouted "That's Rightious Brother" and from then on they took that name from then and there.

Bobby's "Brother" was Bill Medley. Buckey replaced Bobby years after he passed away. They did not lip sync. They sang live. RANKED 16 OUT OF TOP 20 DUOS?? THAT'S NUTS!! They should be higher!!!!

This performance was live on the show “Shindig “.The original can be found on RU-vid . However, the uploader of this video overdubbed the recording. I don’t know why because the live was virtually as good as the recorded version.

If you don't stop calling Bill medley buck and Bucky I'm going to start rolling on the floor laughing. Bill medley is the tall one Bobby Hatfield is the blonde haired shorter one. Bobby died in 2003 and Bucky heard tours with Bill medley now. Every time you call him back and Bucky I just can't stop laughing. They were popular the same time as Motown with they all unforgettable temptations and never to be topped Levi stubs in the four tops. they'll never be another Motown and these guys just fit right in with that genre. That's when people could really sing.

Bill Medley said in an interview that Black radio stations would not play their music because they were white. Eventually they did start to play their music but a DJ in Philly would announce them as his Blue Eyed soul brothers, and Blue Eyed soul was born.

Whitney used to hang out with Elvis as a kid. If you don't believe it, watch, Elvis and the black community part 1 and 2. You're not going to believe how people hated Elvis for singing black music. Rock and Roll was originally black music.

My mother, who passed away last year at 86 years old, told me that she danced with Bill Medley at a club in Myrtle Beach, SC, and he was a pretty smooth dancer. That was in the days when the Shag was a very big thing, and she was called a few years ago about being inducted into the Shaggy Hall of fame. She was a fantastic dancer. God rest her soul.

The Righteous Brothers are my go to artists when I want to chill with something mellow and smooth. I was a child when the songs you have reacted to were hits. My mother listened to the Righteous Brothers, the Everly Brothers, Elvis, Paul Anka, all the "crooners" of that time. She was in her early 20's at this time so she was among the young ladies who went crazy over the handsome, smooth voiced young men who dominated the airwaves in the mid twentieth century.

Bucky Heard was the new partner Bill rook on after Bobby died. Bobby died in 2003 and it wasn’t until 2016 Bill started singing with Bucky.

The Righteous Brothers were doing a club show, one of their first. They couldn't decide what to call themselves. At the end of the song a man stood up and yelled , that's righteous brothers. And that's the name they decided on.

Regarding the Righteous Brothers, the bass & Baritone singer is Bill Medley. The tenor, head voice and falsetto singer is Bobby Hatfield. After Bobby died in 2003, Bill got a new singing partner named Bucky Heard.

I grew up on a ranch along the Missouri -Kansas border with no nighttime radio stations.The only station l could get was WLS Chicago which was a mixture of pop,rock,soul and R&B which l loved because of the real ness in the songs.Now I'm a 72 year old white man who loves great singers of all colors and races.living in a big city. I understand heartbreak and loneliness are universal.

When they were the Paramours they were a quintet. Bobby and Bill recorded a song on their own (Little Latin Lupe Lu) and they needed another name so they used the name they had been called - Righteous Brothers. The song was a hit and they stuck with being a duo and kept the name.

No this is Bill Medley he is a baritone. The reason why Buck started was after Bobby died but didn't start until way after Bobby died, Bill needed a partner and still wanted to sing the song so they found this guy and buck was the guy that they found to take Bobby's place to do concerts around the country they do they did tours.

I am going to say this for the billionth time. Many of these old videos are actually Hybrids”. The video is of a live performance sung live. The audio quality was very poor so years later someone took the studio recording and dubbed it over the original live video. Thats why they dont match. Not because it was lip synched.

Actually, I think they do the substitutions because they only want to hear the records not what the singers can do outside of a recording studio with different music accompaniment. Thankfully, with the Righteous Brothers, the real live performances are also available on RU-vid. That's my take anyway.

They didn't bite, but what they did. Was they both saying they're sure of solos? If you go and check bill medley's got several songs. He sang by himself without Bobby and that's kind of what they did. They kind of went their own direction sometimes and in sometimes they came together for a really good song..

One. Of the problems back then around the time these songs were made is that they hadn't come out with them. Ulti track recording board jet and so it was difficult to match the video and the audio tracks up. Now, when they got the multitracking boards that became much easier so part of it is that and then the other part of it is people on RU-vid, do their own editing and when they add it it all. Gets screwed up..

To set the record straight, many performers, depending on the cheapness of the TV show, did lip sync- they had no choice. But, in the case of the Righteous Brothers’ You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling, and this, Soul and Inspiration were both sung live, but some RU-vidr has superimposed the original record over the TV broadcast.

If you enjoy listening to "The Righteous Brothers" then you will probably want to check out "Eric Burdon & The Animals - When I Was Young (1967)" the same year the Beatles invaded America (British Invasion, which wasn't as bad as it sounds😏) this band was not far-behind the Animals was an English rhythm and blues-rock band formed in Newcastle upon Tyne in the early 1960's. By now I'm sure you know that the bass singer is Bill Medley, who chose not to record Unchained Melody with Bobby. I've seen an interview where Bill said it was the "worst mistake of my life," in a kind of joking way. But, I wonder what it would have been if they both sang.

Bill was indeed joking. It was always Bobby's solo from before he met Bill. He sang it with his group the Variations. They each did solos on albums and in shows. Bobby brought Unchained Melody to the studio to be his solo on an album. Bill produced it and sang almost inaudible backup and played piano.

Lip syncing on tv was pretty much required by the shows-maybe not National TV but definitely more local channels. I believe you’ve seen the Bohemian Rhapsody movie. Remember, Freddy almost walked out on the tv performance because they required Queen to lip sync. Back then, the studios weren’t set up to allow live performances.

It was John's Black Derby in Santa Ana. It's a black hat, not a person. But, yes, some black Marines from the El Toro Marine base heard some white guys were singing R&B went to check them out.They liked what they heard and started calling them righteous brothers (especially one guy). This went on for the several months they played at that club. Guess my point is it wasn't a black club; it wasn't a white club. It was just a club.
