Appeal the decison!! You should have called more Game Wardens, I know you guys use heavy line, 20 pound test? I would have looped a swivel around the lower lip and let them swim off 10 feet to keep them alive for the official weighing. I had no idea they did records on 3 combined fish! You should have googled how to certify the weights!!! ALL THE ANSWERS WERE AT THE TIPS OF YOUR FINGERS 😂😂😂! THAT WOMAN SOUNDED WOKE AF!!!
Here in Oklahoma it's different lol. My buddy Jeff caught the lake record flat head cat fish weighing in at 67 pounds. We called the game warden. My buddy who calls me to do state trapping shows up. I didn't know he's on call. He didn't know I was with my friend Jeff. Lol He pulled up "I should've known your with him" Lol I love fishing. I love cattle. I also love trapping. Him and I know each other pretty good. Some cattle owners do get their cattle taken. That's why he knows me. I'm a ranch originally
@@tristonsanchez5041It’s because they don’t get paid enough. Raising their wages will also raise the standard they’re held to, plus they’ll actually give a damn and have some passion for their jobs so we don’t have this issue.
@@andrewbruce2607then get a different job, real simple. Think I would keep my job if I thought I didn't get paid enough and did a half ass job everyday? You have your whole life to figure it out before you except state/government job. 0 sympathy.

There was once a fisherman that had a game warden show up out of the blue and noticed he had an illegal fish he had caught earlier. When he told him he has to give him a ticket for the said fish, the fisherman told him that in reality that is his pet fish. That he comes every day during lunch and that the fish recognizes him and always swims up to his boat to be picked up. The warden was in disbelief, so the fisherman asked him if he wanted to see how well trained his pet fish really was. The warden said of course, you bet! The fisherman then releases the fish. After a couple of minutes of silence and waiting the fish doesn't return. The warden then asks, soo where's the fish??! The fisherman says what fish?
Happened here in cc,TX/Mathis,Tx. Local that lives on lake cc caught an alligator gar, 8ft 300lb. Was in the newspaper and everything back in 2013 during the summer. And now a few months ago some game warden caught a 7ft 210lb alligator gar which is now the state record apparently
@@bc5208who is “everyone”? because if i never saw this youtube short, and sometime in the future tried to look up the record for this state/fish, you wouldn’t find this guy’s name on any “official” records
My former home state has been embarrassing for decades. I know little about fish, but I do know a bass is one. Even if their only job is answering the phone and then routing the call to the appropriate person or department, receptionists know at least a bit about the “business” they work for.
Bro should've phoned in an anonymous complaint about 2 guys fishing without a license and giving their location and hull numbers. Authorities would've been out there in no time.😂
I think California fish and game wardens have better things to do then verify records. People don’t realize how big California is and how much territory wardens have to cover. The local warden could have been over an hour away.
@@tillmen4444The warden would be in charge of a shit ton of land management and honestly idgaf about someone record fish catch that's a waste of everyone's time and only encourages bad practices.
@@ethan6627 how is that bad practice? They show up everywhere else uninvited and on any complaints, but when you need them for anything they can be bothered? Only land they manage is their driver seat
@tillmen4444 Getting record fish can be an enticing for people to then stuffy their catches with weights and debri to get the record. In addition when someone makes huge catch it can lead to a huge influx of people fishing there which is not a great thing for the location. Idc about this guy's catch and don't want tax dollars going towards verifying catches, their job is to protect the environment and to inserue people can have fun participating in fishing for generations to come. World records are irrelevant in that goal.
I caught a 17lb 1oz large mouth in California in 1993. I didn't have a camera or a scale. The game warden happened to roll up out of nowhere while i was letting the fish recover before release. It had been a 20 minute fight and the fish made 3 runs that nearly spooled me out each time. Thanks to that warden showing up and recording my catch ...i hold a California line class record to this day. Thank you Steve!🕺😎
@@cplg2111usmcif they held the camera on the scale and watched it to see if it fluctuated then I don’t see how it hat is an issue. Or if it’s the type that just stops on the weight, as long as it stops on the same weight each time.
It does though. Take a scale of any sort and take a measurement on you solid floor, then take the same measurement on a couch cushion. You will have drastically different weights.
@@Petah69420brother there are so many people who don't know I was walking in a somewhat dried up river with my cousin and his city friend and in the bed was a dead catfish and his friend with the so much confidence said look at that bass and I had to explain that was in fact not a badd
We know who the championship belongs too... Just because someone doesn't acknowledge your achievement, doesn't make it untrue, you sir definitely deserve the crown!!!!
He disqualified himself by weighing it on the boat it clearly states on the IGFA website the fish has to be weighed on land with a certified IGFA scale. I'm guessing he also didn't have his scale certified.
Fisherman: I caught a record bass Fish and game : what is that Fisherman : I'm snagging bass Fish and game : we are on our way to give you a ticket Fisherman : what is that
It wasn’t a game warden. Probably called the local offices main line and got someone that works in admin and isn’t familiar with the situation. It’s probably not a common call they receive.
@Crashmule I agree, but it's unusual that even an office employee would not know what a bass us. After all they provide information and should have a basic understanding of the enviroment.
@@leekellettjr441 He didn't even call California Department of Fish and Wildlife. They called the local non emergency number, cause that area uses the sheriff's office to dispatch the game wardens, and CHP in the area. Due to that, the dispatcher didn't know what the fuck a bass was, cause it's a dispatcher, they probably don't do any form of fishing.
Fishing rules is not law , they can not search nor they can not give tickets , rules and policies from organizations are criminals COP CORRUPT ORGANIZATION POLICY .AND POLICE CAN NOT GET INVOVLED IN FISHING RULES IT NOT THEIR POLICY. IT TO STEAL FROM PEOPLE . It had to have just been that the girl who picked up the phone didn’t know what she’s doing. Two world record spots have been caught at my local lake and California DFG was on top of it.
When I was 13 I missed the states Small Mouth Bass record by 1 inch. I caught it off a night crawler fishing off the shore of a small lake. Reeling it in felt like I had Jaws on the line. What a awesome moment I'll never forget. My dad had it mounted for my Christmas present that year. That was over 30 years ago.
I had the same thing happen to me with a carp in the uk, it was 73lbs8oz and I called it in as a record, after months of waiting they just said it doesn’t count because it’s a foreign fish. Last time I checked it only needed to be more than 4x it’s original stock weight and it was stocked in at 15lbs. I was 14 at the time and felt crushed and rightfully cheated. My name is Jensen price and you can search it on google and find the fish I caught if ur interested at all
I went and looked Jensen. What a fish! Congratulations! I can’t believe the body on it, looks like a regular head attached to a body-builders torso 😂. That’s really awesome. Thanks for sharing that. 👍👍🎣👌
That's correct sir! Just had to go 50 yards to shore and do all the weighing and photo taking and you would have been golden 😂. It's not BS that's the way you do it😂
@@guichozuniga7385 That still wouldn’t have made the fish way less or more, especially since they weighed it on three separate scales. It may have been an ounce or two off, but the weight was, I’m sure, 99% accurate.
Thats why you call them as an anonymous tip "hey these really cool looking dudes look like they're drunk driving the boat and illegally catching fish, they're on this bad ass boat.." lol
U know there is a problem right away when the worker from the California Fish & Wildlife says: "What is that?" to the question of: "We have a world record size bass" fuk..
Oof, i forgot about weights in fish, unfortunately unless the entire process, from catching the fish to weighing it is filmed continuously, there will be no way of knowing
Right...who wants to run into a warden ever, they will start looking for *something* to cite you for and they will always find something. Usually some obscure rule from 100 years ago that nobody ever heard of or followed and now you have to pay hundreds of dollars for something incredibly stupid.
@@bobbyc2768 I don't know what wardens you've met but most of the time they are nice. Even had a conversation with one before. His biggest issue of his day was that they give them 5000$ radios that don't work half the time.
I hope u start gettin back out there, shits peaceful and helps with stress...and most importantly, you sound like u enjoy it, and that, is better than doin shit u don't want that adds stress, which seems to be all life cosist of now a days..
An official world record of any fish will land you thousands, if not millions, in advertising deals and promotions. Sue those incompetent fools for income lost.
Take the fish to a grocery store, “Alive” to weigh on a certified scale. I caught a state record 19 lb bass in Florida and threw it back because I thought the record was 20 lbs and it was 17
It usually needs to be a certified scale. Like at a deli or grocery store. Needs to be certified by dept. of weights and measures. Or equivalent in that particular region. Same people who check and certify gas pumps are calibrated properly for the legal sale of fuel to the public.
You know what, in my experience, that is not an implausible scenario some connected asswipe would prevent a record to be certified because his buddy would lose the record. People suck.
