Smokey with those SO shots were just insane. By far my favorite player in this game.

Blue with no recourses, no buildings, no army, and is in the center of the map is holding his fist up in victory as last living on the map. Also no more resources to harvest.

"I know everyone wants to be the one who survives and rebooms and ends up winning, but you gotta know when you're dead" It's almost like T90 was ordaining that he then win

Favourite moment is at 37:55 when smokey immediately picks up on orange trying to trick him and tells the allies he trusts more, really shows loyalty and a team player, something the rest of them could have used

I really feel bad for yellow this game. Sure they were top score but they were nice to a lot of people. Blue backstabbed and purple and gray were terrible allys.

People aren't giving enough credit to blue's diplo skills here. He always knew exactly who to go after and what to say to get people on his side. I mean the first person he attacked in this game was green and yet he convinced him to turn on his other two allies at the end. In fact, he always managed to convince other people to turn. Purple being so flaky and not following blue's lead when he had been telling him from the start that they needed to backstab yellow is the only reason why this game took so long. Blue played this masterfully IMO, he really showed how even a noob with a low score can win a community game with great diplo and good timing.

This game felt like the campaign for Freidrick Barbarossa. Betrayed(?) by allies and always on the verge of death and yet coming back for one last victory

Man this game came a long way. I used to play off a cd copy of age of kings. No garrison rams, buy cartography, no auto farms. I was trash, never did even play online. Didn't know how. Still did like building forts. My first aoe was the first one on a school computer:)

Here in the U.K. we had a game called Bulldog. We would run the length of a 5 a side pitch and a couple of people would be ‘it’ in the middle. And the goal was to reach the other side. The goal of those ‘it’ was to, essentially catch kids running across, but also to drag them to the floor. Bear in mind, this was basically a *Concrete* playground at school. It was soon banned when one girl broke her arm, and another broke her wrist. They banned everything fun when I was at school 😂

Age of Empires 2 was the first video game I ever played on a PC. It seems like it will be my last, too. This game is eternal!

I always appreciate true loyalty in these games. I think even dying together is more rewarding than a must win at all cost mentality. Plus you’re more trustworthy for future games. It’s a shame grey turned on yellow really was hoping yellow could have 1 true friend

Purple was just so damn funny. First he backstabs orange and fails apologizses and bribes him with resources tries it a second time and apologizes again playes dumb for falf the game then tells orange that he is preparing himself mentally to backstab his other two allies guilt trips orange for building a wall

Every summer, I would get called to meals by cowbells. It was the official “it’s meal time!” sound for all my cousins when we were out playing in the fields and trees. Good memories!

Used to tie up a boogie board to the back on my Quad Bike/ATV and we would do laps around my 1 acre backyard during the rainy days/when its hella muddy, mate or myself get on the back on the board going 20-30km/h going around corners. fun shit

In Grey's mind yellow building that wonder was the betrayal for the exact same reasons. They spent all that time fighting together and now with their backs to the wall yellow goes for a wonder victory? if Grey stayed allied and defended him he'd just lose the game through yellow's wonder victory like everyone else, and on top of that the wonder puts a mega-target on their backs and would make all the other players attack them to stop it. Yellow forced his hand.

I grew up in a super well-to-do suburb in a major metro area in the early cellphone era and my mother also used a cowbell to tell me to come in for dinner. It was an effective system. I could hear it from down the street. Parents should use cowbell. We need more cowbell.

Holy crap, growing up in texas we did the same thing with 4 wheelers and a piece of plywood. A buddy broke his leg in 3 places when another buddy slung him into a tree on accident

halfway through, this is one of the best exploding king game. ITs a lot of fun when theres so much chatter, the buildup to the first war is awesome

I remember doing the same thing in the winter with snowmobiles. However, it was a family thing and not so much kids doing things they shouldn't. My dad built a trailer with skis on it and only a guard on the front. We would hook that up to the snowmobile and then pour water on the sled to ice it over. The goal of the driver was to loose all their passengers and the goal of the passengers was not to get thrown off. I broke my collarbone one year. My mom was kinda pissed at my dad but she chocked it up "boys will be boys". Then the following year I broke my arm. Mom said enough is enough and half tried to put an end to it but we still would do it from time to time. Then eventually my sister got a concussion falling off it.... I never did see that sled again after that. I guess it was no longer "boys being boys" when a girl gets hurt. lol Good times.

I think Purple was given a bad rap. If you followed his chat the whole time he seemed to genuinely just not want to do anyone dirty. If Yellow had not accidently sent his messages to Teal then I think Purple would have been a true ally for the duration. The inaction was clearly inner turmoil.

Blue played it really well here. Top two spots well deserved tbh.

16:00 Cowbell Story My Grandma Carol used to call her kids home with a bell hanging outside their front door. That was 1960~ Illinois, for reference.

You weren't the only one, we had a number of stuff we used. A large triangle, a bell, but no cowbell to let people at the barn know to come inside. Eaiser than having to try and yell.

my neighbours dad summoned him for dinner with a bell. can also vouch that the bell tech is very efficient.

About the bombard towers, the idea of them taking population space is interesting, having one or two would be a problem, but if you make 10 or 20, it will reduce the amount of army you can have.

My Brother in our games banned Bombard Towers, Bombard Cannons & Bombard Ships and Trebs on our land engagements. We then gave each person 1 hour to boom and expand but only expansions could be attacked no attacks on main base. After that hour elapsed all hell breaks loose. We did it due to having a few newbie friends who joined and didn't know how to play and my brother and I being fairly experienced were more than likely going to be the main threats.

That was some Game of Thrones level of drama

@T90Official - Age of Empires 2 we played sting pong. It's ping pong except instead of passing back and forth you stand on the long side of the table, take off your shirt and pelt each other with the ball. The loser is the first one that quit.

While living with a friend, we were pretending to be in a zombie apocalypse and walking around the neighborhood with a sledgehammer and a crowbar. It's genuinely surprising that no one called the cops. Anyways, at the end, we were in his back yard. He lifted up the sledgehammer and said, "If I'm ever surrounded by zombies, this is what I'm gonna do," and then began to spin, the hammer outstretched. It slipped from his hands, flew a few feet, then hit me in the hip. I was fine. It bounced off and knocked over his trash can. On another occasion, he threw something from across the yard and only said, "Hey, catch!" just before it hit me in the head. Bled for a while, but, again, I was fine. He was more worried that he was gonna get in trouble, but I told him to say it was spray paint that he stupidly put in my hair, cause he was known for doing things like that.

we did the same thing as you did with a 2wheeler except we used a snowmobile with an trailer that we would spray with water to ice it over. The trailer was on skis and had a rail on the front but not the sides nor the back. The drivers job was to try and throw you off the sled by driving erratically... also we didn't hide it from our parents... given it was my dad who came up with the idea... lol fun times.

We used to joust with long ass 2x4s on our bikes when I was growing up. Parents got involved when some kid broke his sternum and then the kid who nailed him fell off his bike and dislocated his shoulder and broke his clavicle. Such good times.

Growing up we raised horses and lived next to corn/wheat field. So when we weren't being thrown off horse back we would go into to the fields after they were disked and have dirt clod fights which was basically pummeling each with chuncks of dry dirt.

LoL I loved how T90 had no hope for blue and suggesting he shouldn't be so stubborn but he wins the game regardless 11

We used to do two sled on the back of the 4-wheeler and two people rode in them while two people chased and tried to steal the sleds by ripping the other people off. One of the fondest memories I have is watching from the sled as my friend ran straight into a pine tree which bent over and then catapulted him off.

Purple made me feel sick inside. I shouldn't be so invested in these games, but this game was special, Purple being a conniving little gremlin felt so disgusting, honestly hate that kind of backseat shit.

What an amazing game, full of plot twists and betrayals and, as the title suggested, some real grade-A karma. Also, I have to say, these types of games really benefit from being played on fastest and then watched on RU-vid at like 1.5 speed. Even then it's a movie-length epic, but it does become way easier to get through.

Here's a stupid game mode- Boom or Tomb -that could possibly be adjusted into a good one: everyone must ally everyone; kings must stay inside of the starting town center; every 10 minutes of in-game time, the player with the lowest score must delete their king, but they have one minute to move their king before it is deleted; the kings explode; you cannot build walls (including ones made of any other buildings) that completely surround anyone's units or buildings, including yourself, but you can make mazes; you're not allowed to attack anyone's units or buildings, but you can lame them (can build around their resources, kill their animals.) (It would be ideal if the deletion could be automated, with an announcement of who lost and is about to blow up, or performed by the server administrator. I guess the admin could be a player with an onager that has a ton of HP/invincibility and speed.) Due to the short period of time before deletion, some players might want to boost the economy of their neighbors.

As to the bombard towers, I'd say leave it up to the players. The more they let their opponents build up, they are the ones that have to suffer. Besides, there are things like the bombard cannons that can be really powerful and they can move... So targeting just the towers would nerf some races without affecting others' strategies.

If i ever get into one of these games that was my ideal strategy at 4:00 :D

I just thought of an idea for a mod: Geneva Convention Mod: Each player starts with a barracks, villagers and economic buildings can not be attacked, towncenters don't attack, villagers can only attack wildlife. You can't build palisades in dark age (to avoid people palissading enemy resources in dark age). You loose if all your military units and buildings.
