@@George-li1yv but it is not a place name, it's just "Northeast" the area... I think she can tell because of the pronunciation... It is not a single word in Chinese actually, "Dong" for East and "Bei" for North, and this guy pronounces both word correctly and he knew "Dongbei" is not a single word... You would think it is a single word normally, so you pronounce the word of "bei" little bit lightly which would sound like how the girl speak it for the first time because she is talking in "English" form, however if you emphasis on both and pronounce them kind of separate word, well...
No, she guessed because he knew what/where dongbei was, not from the pronunciation. She even clarifies later on. He didn't really pronounce it in any chinese way, just in an English pronunciation. The same way he pronounces Chengdu later on in english
@@NathanielEugenemost provinces and place names in China are literally physical locators of the area. Though, it's not in the category of province or city, it's still a popular category for people to refer to it and know what it is in China.
Gotta feel good when you start working with accents in a foreign language, thats when u know ur operating at a very high level. Great vibes as always in these videos :D
@@RyanHaleYTbro not everyone in indonesia is a Muslim. Most muslim woman aren't allowed to use internet. Yolanda was a Christian girl and vidya was a buddhist girl and nur was muslim
@@ocerco93 but most are not in the eastern and southern part of the country. Mostly are Christians and you don't say asla valokom to them. It's disrespectful, we say "Praise the Lord" in the part of the country.
South African here. I started learning Russian about a week-ish ago because of your vids. I understood quite a few words and phrases that were said (like gorod and zhenshina etc.), so I guess progress is going good. Enjoyed the vid!
@@mycelia_ow I started with russian, if for nothing other than I have a russian name, but I am looking to learn more languages afterward. German, french, spanish, swedish etc.. I'll try to learn them all eventually.
These interactions are nice & wholesome, BUT your travel vlogs are where it is at!! I never enjoyed vlogs so much. The vibe of those videos feels fun/relaxed/authentic! I love that the vlog never feels like it is getting in the way of your fun or you are putting on a persona for the vlog. Maybe because I am older (29) but I could not get enough of your Indonesian vlogs! I am so inspired to travel! 💚 I would love to see you travel more
Ryan, don’t set the bar too low. I know you are probably considering many options for your next steps. But your skills and intellect and charisma are well suited for the political realm. Imagine a U.S. President who can fluently speak the languages of all major nations.
So happy to see such kind of videos here again! And so many Chinese people. I really enjoy watching your conversations with them. Thank you very much for your wonderful video! 👍
You inspire me so much to learn a language Ryan!!! Thank you for your videos! It's awesome seeing the reactions and clearly you love it too! I've created an account with italki and can't wait to do this! Again thank you!!!
Ryan im from Germany and i rly love watching your vids so first of all Thanks for entertaining us :) But i already watched everything on your channel like 10 times i think u could make the vids like 1 hour or even longer :) i just love that reactions after u switch to their language its so not staged and authentic its pure gold to watch.
Those kids whispering probably were saying like “omg I think that’s Ryan Hale I watch his RU-vid”. And their surprise when you started speaking in Indonesian was more like “omg it IS Ryan Hale” instead of “omg this white dude is speaking Indonesian”
I think there's in the background a very big question, with a lot of suspense and philosophical(ish) implications : When and who Ryan will marry if he choose to marry. Anyway Ryan is doing more than UNESCO for people from all over the World to know each other and meet. Thank you for your Channel, I am very lucky to know it, carry on , this is high quality content.
The last girl: in many Asian cultures, politeness is highly valued, so you can't go wrong as a Westerner pumping up your manners game. The languages include forms that include manners in particular ways that don't exist in European languages.
@Ryan Hale - I always wanted to see you speak to people and then quickly read a Chinese for Dummies book really quick and then you instantly know the language.
hi Ryan it's just compelling see you talking in lots of different languages i got so motivation from you to learn languages. maintenent j'apprends français et je veux dire tu es formidable ❤️💯💪

Im genuinely curious how many languages can you speak ? 😳 I used to study Japanese for 10 years. And I even studied it at university level . I love japanese music especially visual kei and metal from Japan is some of my favourite music. I wanted to be a Japanese translator but now I'm studying music because that's my passion and i want to teach guitar. Your videos are really entertaining, and i like how polite and respectful you are while still being friendly and outgoing ! It's so encouraging to see people connecting regardless of what language you speak :)
people think you're an english teacher because the way you speak is so clear even for a non native speaker like me, most british/american speak fast and I have to try really hard to understand what they're saying
