I live outside of Silicon Valley. 40 years ago the Engineering types appreciated an honest, creative craftsman with integrity. Many got very wealthy on stock appreciation. I have not had a significant increase in relative income in 40 years--- yet my skills greatly increase the living standard and value of homeowners. We lost our home to foreclosure in 2021 just after the US election. We lost 300K in equity. We have nothing--- and are not happy. Winners do not respect or regard losers.

I think the key to my freedom is food and energy sovereignty on land that I own. Of course the government can always come and take it by force, but there would be a cost for them to pay. It isn't 'easy' to produce your own food, repurposing as much as possible, and maintaining everything; but if masses of people did, it would take the real power away from the elite class. These screens though...they are like pacifiers for the masses. My hope for the majority of people is all but lost.

Here in BC, 🇨🇦, the lumber companies have locked gates on roads to prevent people from accessing the back country, under the excuse that we would start a wildfire with our camping activities. Ridiculous!

Im emotionally drained. I love ppl. I hate see ppl suffer in todays world. In the 70's I loved riding my bike in my neighborhood feeling so FREE! No worries about anything happening in the world. Children need to be protected at all cost. Now i worry about how they are going to cope and survive.

I worry too...not only do some have a serious lack of respect for elders, their coping skills are almost non-existent...I have never seen so many kids and young people freak out at the littlest of things...I am not a parent but I am a teacher...not sure what is happening...

Am the same age as you Bjorn, living in a city in England. I miss the freedom of the 70's, 80's and 90's. Since the year 2000 things have gone down hill so fast, it's hard to believe people let this happen. They will never know true freedom as we experienced in the by gone days. ☹

@@AdventureSam It was hard no easy ride but we had freedom, no internet, no mobile phones, nothing. I used to hack or let's say, mechanically hack payphones to get free calls. I use to write letters to a pen friend and wait 2 to 3 weeks for a reply. Also there was not much money around, if you had a car you were rich in the 70's, houses were £5k-50k. You could smoke anywhere, set up a rave in the middle of nowhere or, a old warehouse and dance until 7am. Now you cannot do F all, tracked, traced, badged, snooped on etc. Am I looking back with rose tinted glasses? Maybe! But screw the BS we have now, I would rather be poor and free than slightly better off and in a digital prison. I don't do social media or anything. Am a computer nerd and can build one in minutes, but I seen social media years ago for what it is, a cancer to engage people. 🤬 Oh wait...... this is a sort of social media 🤪😁

Here in BC, Canada - I'm getting my house ready to take in our friends who may not be able to get to their new home, in the interior, due to road blockages and restrictions from the wildfires. I'm pretty sure that whatever they are spraying on us is acting as a catalyst for the fires. Also, they are more than happy to bring in restrictions for any reason.

I have also put a sign private road on my property road, because if i don't have the tourists will look for a place to camp at the lake and i want my privacy. I worked very hard before i was able to buy the land an build my house so i skip to be forced to see people. I HATE drones and i will shoot them down if a thing like that is flying over my property. Many tourists are leaving garbage and empty their chemical toilet in the forrest. In the tourist season i have to put my full garbage container late in the evening at the road and the next morning i have to pick it up just after the container just has been emptied.. If i leave it on the road for one day it's filled with tourist garbage again. I,m sick and tired of those people with their trailers and white campers.

I'm 60 years old, and have seen the erosion of our freedom for many decades now. I have no respect for our authorities, although I have worked with the regulation of agricultural biocides and veterinary medicines until all regulations were taken over by EU-GUIDELINES.. I'm all for creating a parallel society so that we can have a better alternative to the control system they are making. We can't even exchange cash without having a bank account from this year on, in Europe. I think it's time to start using silver and gold (or other media of payment). It's obvious that cash will be replaced with central bank digital currency, just like the other restrictions you have talked about. We're seeing the "decline of the western world". I'm not surprised if We're having to have a base in a BRIICS country, and have Norway as a place where we travel as tourists, just like I have just spent 5 weeks in Northern Norway, were I come from, and have most of my relatives and where my ancestors have lived for many generations. It's great that life is still more free up there, still. We have a few hectars of woodland were we used to live. And I have decided to build a cabin there, while I still have the possibility. But, I won't be surprised if I'm having to live in Africa because they are not corrupt in the way Europe is going. I hope that we'll soon have a BRIICS currency, perhaps pegged to Gold.. I don't want to be unable to live my own life in Norway, but the parliament and bureaucracy are definitely becoming a greater threat to us individuals than before we voted against EU membership !

This reminds me of my neighbor. He is a former marine. He worked his way up in real estate, but now thinks he owns the entire neighborhood. He destroys neighbors' yard sale signs. The wife left a nasty note on my car saying, "Don't junk up the neighborhood." I was getting rid of some of my late parents' belongings. It wasn't like I had a homeless camp in my driveway. It seems hypocritical that a marine would prevent the rights of others.

Basically this is the same message I've spread for the last ten years. Control people's movement, their food sources and their access to energy and you control them completely. And our freedoms have been sliced away little by little in the name of environment, security, economy and so on. And people have accepted it not realizing where we're heading. One big problem is the mindset of too many politicians that bans most of the things they are not intersted in themselves. If they don't see the point in something they just bans it. And regarding cars. For me a car represents freedom, the possibility to have an active lifestyle, having and using a boat, go hiking and security. A car is not like any other consumer product - it has a big impact on quality of life.

My daughter and her Swedish husband went to get their $300 tent and sleeping bags from their apt attic storage area last weekend for a camping trick and found it stolen. Thief even broke off a lock. It's a secure apt building, so someone visiting a resident or a resident stole them. We just returned froma trip to Japan, and the Japanese have very little theft and violent crime problems. I'd thought Sweden/Norway were similar. Maybe not.

they don't want you flying a drone in the middle of nowhere because they don't want you to own and learn how to fly a drone period... It's one of the most important force multipliers that a civilian can cheaply own. And it's impact is very big (as seen in Syria and Ukraine), like night vision and thermals.

We have the same madness here in the UK. Dartmoor was the last place in the UK where wild camping was legal. The extremely wealthy land owner recently wanted to ban people from wild camping on this land, and he won. Luckily the people rose up and another judge overturned this. The landowner hosts game-hunting regularly on his land, and rents out holiday homes, but didn’t want to allow a few wild campers who want to enjoy the freedom of nature. We can’t let our freedoms be so easily taken

Having lived on both sides, rich and poor, I hear the distorted views that both sides have of each other. One example, is the rich don't get rich off of petty hunting permit fees. Instead, the fees are a screening process to sift out the non serious trouble makers just shooting off for fun. They probably have other non responsible habits as well, such as littering and nature vandalism. Also, it limits the number of people in the area.

In Texas we have our freedom taken away in a different way when our borders are not secure and anyone can walk themselves right on in. BTW, Bjorn I saw that it was raining in Norway. It made me miss Europe. We have had one of the hottest summers with 42 degrees Celsius for weeks and weeks in West Texas.

I was i Norway this summer, and I noticed that the big roads have cameras, road fees and gates at the entrance of tunnels. It was several years ago I was in Norway last time, but it felt like a system now was installed and easily ready to be used to control peoples travel and movement. It felt like beeing watched by big brother the whole time.

I feel your anger fear and disappointment in what could be heading our way if we don't make a stand. It is all being done slowly and deliberately. Through soundbites like. "Build back better" and "Convenience" it will be more convenient for you for example. If we get rid of cash! Of course we know that that will be a disaster. Anyone reading this will know the reasons why this is so. And just like the making it more difficult to drive your car, and making it more expensive. It will be done, frog in a pan of water style! Believe me l have tried to speak to much smarter people than myself about the draconian future that we all face. But no one wants to listen. And that's how the elite, including the big corporations, the banks, the WEF and the rest will get their way. There's still time, but as you say more people need to speak out. I've written to my MP about these and other things that are heading our way, but of course l have had zero success with that approach. I think the most important thing is we take care of our loved ones and ourselves, and we become as independent as we can. We took your advice and we are moving out of our city into a much more rural location. But the only way that we could do that is because we have the money. Not a huge amount. But enough to make sure we have enough food and water and we can generate our own electricity and the rest. We have to do as much as we can in order that we can become totally independent from the state if these evil corporatioms do start to fulfill their agendas!

I try to tell my Son about these things. But he gets so mad at me. He does not want to hear it. Others in my family too. People think I’m crazy. But I’ve done the best I can. My son was born in 77. His was the last generation to grow up with the freedoms we hold dear. Thats the sadest thing I know. And its not the times that have changed, but it is the people. The powers that be HATE to see us "peasants" have any freedom and do their damdest to take it away, no matter how long that takes.

They don't want people Hunting using Drones to find the animals. That is most likely why. People shouldn't be allowed to cut off the coasts or waters to others.

Thanks for the comment! But no, that is not why, actually. The reindeer, which is where a bird's eye perspective would help a hunter, can easily be tracked and their position will then be well known to all the hunters in the area. Also, if that was the case, drones would be allowed outside of the hunting season.

I totally understand and agree. I own two treed vacant lots and I'm not allowed to camp on it. Only leave it as is or spend lots of money for rezoning for building. Only five mins. away in town, a developer has built a low level condo building. Who gave tte developer permission to build next to a fish sanctuary, on a pennisula of land, stretching into a river$$$$$$

Living in a suburb of Houston, TX USA I couldn't live without a car. You need a car to get to work, visit family, go to the grocery store, go do something fun, etc Without a car you can't even use public transit for most things in most U.S. cities.
