Hey guys! So I was finally able to get my hands on the Playstation Portal. Wow! I can't believe the initial reaction people had to this thing. Let's dive into it! Music: Mii Plaza by Lofi Lia Outro music by Bulby
This was exactly my experience, didn’t buy it for a while because of the poor reviews about lag but then I bit the bullet and I have little to no lag at all, I love this thing!!
I absolutely love this thing! Do yourself a favor and hardwire your PS5 to your router. Also, go into the PS5 setting and make sure your system is connecting via ethernet (it doesn't automatically change) I have played multiple Helldiver suicide missions with very little issues if any. Im not suggesting that you play it this way... but it can be done on a good, steady network.
Love this thing, been playing through all the Spider-Man games on it. Absolutely wonderful experience. Quite sure they will release a stand alone version in the future. But if people already dislike the €220 price tag, wait until they see the prices for a new full function handheld.
Yeah man, you motivate me to open mine, it still has the seal on it, I have been apprehensive due to so many reviewers saying it’s trash , lags, stutters blah blah.. I play remotely on my iPad and games run wonderfully on my lazy boy , patio , I don’t see why the portal would give me problems, GameStop won’t take it back if I open it, but if it sucks I can sell it on FB market and get my money back that’s way, people are snatching them up like crazy. Great Video!
Man I didn't get mine till the end of December I have a cold worker who had his day one. I've been remote playing since the PS3 days this thing is pretty awesome for the experience that I've had. Me and my co-worker have the same internet provider and he even has a gaming router but he experiences multiple lags to the point where he sold his me and the other hand they run smooth his brother I haven't played at work sometimes on my lunch break My phone's hotspot.. we both are direct connected with ethernet and did all the settings like turning off HDR and loading the resolution to 1080p but his experience was completely different and he hated it.. For things like this you can't go off of other people's reviews he just got to experience it yourself.. I personally think there's a bad batch because for two people to have the exact same setup with the exact internet provider something has to be off..
Not having to bring my 12-in tablet and a controller when my work sends me on TDYs or whatever that's a game changer an all-in-one device that does exactly what It says it's pretty awesome but again I've had a very positive experience so so I can only speak on that I do wish they had a browser but I understand why they don't.. Gamers found a way to exploit previous PlayStation devices through web browser and since then they've done multiple updates to the point where now the PS5 doesn't even really have one It's technically hidden and they're probably not going to add one to the portal..
I highly would not recommend trying to competitively play any first person shooters online this device is not made for that You're adding an extra connection point online and I don't think people realize that..
Ps5 is wired, i use Ethernet Cat6 cable 50’. No lag, i even have HDR on with 2160p on. I can COD or GTA online with no lag or delay. It’s honestly just internet connection. It’s not as bad as people put it out to be.
To be honest I don’t have much interest in the portal as it’s something I don’t really need, but I get the idea if you have say a family where tv sharing is a thing and you want to still play the PS5 without having to use remote play on your phone. Even with regards to the design at first I thought it looked weird basically being a duelsense cut in half and with a screen stuck in the middle, but it’s grown on me. One again. I’m not the target demographic, but I respect its value and usefulness.
Picked it up around the same time you posted this video. And yeah, it's amazing. These tips sound crazy and i hope Sony fixes this, but stay with me. If you set your PS5 resolution to 1080p, and unplug PS5 HDMi or play with the tv off. It dramatically improves both quality and input delay. Not ideal, but there you have it... 🤷
Can't even play it without Wi-Fi, and even then it's laggy if you aren't in a right spot.... I'll stick with my Switch - no streaming or internet required.
Nintendo switch is garbage Nintendrone corporate slave. Mortal kombat 1 sucks ass on it. Stay salty about the ps portal Nintendo switch fanboy hahahahaha 😂 Switch is underpowered at 30fps and portal is at 60fps hahaha
It's so cool that you shared what no one asked. This is his channel, so it's about his take on it. Perhaps we can all go to your channel to state our opinions that aren't relevant as well.
@jubblybits6155 Trust me, having the most expensive phone on the market doesn't compare to the experience of the Portal. I mean, it's all based on the quality of your internet connection, not the cost of a device. Great point though.
Wish the experience wasn’t hit or miss. I have Verizon fios 1gb. Ethernet for ps5. But the portal is constantly disconnecting. Severe pixelation. Extremely laggy. I don’t get it. But on the phone. It’s night and day. Dedicated device made for one thing and does it worse than the phone app sadly
