It's not an investment. It is an asset who's value cannot be eroded by government policy.

If you go to a pawn shop you will at best spot and most likely a dollar below spot for silver unless it’s a U.S. minted coin then spot would be the offer.

11:56 Another issue with using a large piece of gold or silver, is that it's 'conspicuous wealth'. Even if the person being bartered with is on the level, an on-looker may see, and then think ''If he's got That much, he's going to have more...'' and decide to follow you back to your stash and 'make a withdrawal from the bank of you...' Keeping to scrap coins, mitigates that risk somewhat: Anyone may come across a purse or bag with a few coins in it - it's nothing unlikely - but anyone slapping 10oz ingots around, they're going to have more... 🙈🙈🙈🙈 Basic rule of OpSec: Never let anyone else know what you're holding... Stay Strong 👍👍👍👍

@@TATargets you just have to know the actual value you have with physical silver/gold. You pay a mark up from spot when you buy it from a dealer and then a mark down when you sell it back to the dealer. If your selling/trading between people it’s hard to make change out of fractions of a coin. It’s all good if you want to hold some, you just gotta know some of the down side along with the upside. IMHuO, silver is the least volatile of the precious metals. Sure, it'll have Some fluctuation, that's just the nature of the game, but it doesn't do so to the extent which gold does 👍👍👍👍

Where are you usually purchasing precious metals?

We have created a network locally over the years. It takes time, but I'd start at your local flea market. Start asking around. Buy some small quantities, become friends with some of the small dealers, ask what it would take to get 500 ounces. See where they point you.

CHEAPEST silver is 100oz englehardt bars and $1,000 junk silver bags.

@TATargets Год назад
Junk silver is so much fun to sift through 😍
@jeffhays1968
@jeffhays1968 Год назад
@@TATargets MOST high volume coin shops/dealers buy/sell the stuff with a 10% cushion up or down. WAY better than US mint silver eagles and lots of other silver. The $1,000 bags of junk silver are the best deal though. You are right, fun to sort through those.
@Seedavis397
@Seedavis397 Год назад
Haha no way Engelhard bars are cheapest…. They usually carry a high premium because of the collectible value….. 100 oz bars are best bang for buck but not very divisible…. Stick with 1 oz generic or 10 oz bars
@jeffhays1968
@jeffhays1968 Год назад
@@Seedavis397 stick with junk bags then. My dealers ( more than one ) all buy and sell bulk bars with a 10% premium over spot on buying and a 10% cut on selling, hardly a high premium compared to 1 ounce silver rounds which to me have way more premium. And 100 oz bars are for long term, not trading for stuff. I have 100 oz bars from back in the days after the hunt bros crash, 4 bucks an ounce back then. I was selling during the run up, buying lots and dumping as fast as I bought. When the crash came I bought hundreds of ounces. still have maybe half of that. Sold lots on the way up last decades, from $12.00 to $35.00. I have no regrets, silver has treated me well.

Grid down scenario all that silver and gold will be useless. Who you going to sell it to, who's going to be checking it to be sure it's genuine?? Can't eat gold or silver nor can it put food on the table .... invest in food, meds, guns and ammo

It will have value and always has! It will be way more valuable than a dollar bill! Obviously u can’t eat it but silver and gold have always been money throughout human history. This is the dumbest argument that most uninformed people make. Fiat currencies have always gone to 0 due to incompetent governments and the dollar isn’t immune to it!
@silence24dogood47

What will you do when you’re out of food, meds, or ammo and the guy with the items you need don’t need anything you have, negating the possibility of barter?
@TATargets
@TATargets Год назад
@@silence24dogood47 That situation isn't just a reality when speaking of silver. You should have a community NOW and you will negate what you just described. What happens if all you have to trade are guns and ammo, and you come across a guy with a team like me with 100's of thousands of rounds, more equipped rifles than we'd nee? I'd take silver, but I don't want your ammo. That can be applied any direction you'd like. This is why we diversify.
