You're correct, we have such Snails in Sierra Leone, they won't grow bigger.

Firstly, what you see is not catri-v and to say that they are not edible is not true. Though it is not widely consumed in Ghana but a small fraction of people eat it. My wife for instance eat it who is in Accra, and my land lord in whose house I'm staying in kwahu also eats it.
