I think it's interesting how Yoshida changes between using 'I' and 'we' when talking about Denji's choices. When he's talking about Nayuta, he says 'we' and 'public safety'. But when he asks Denji to refrain from being Chainsaw Man, he says 'I'. Where do Yoshida and public safety's motives align, and where do they not?

Don't let your guard down. Denji isn't allowed to be happy for more than one chapter at a time.

I love how Denji is slowly making Yoshida lose his mind

I hope we get to see more of Denji and Nayuta’s day to day and how they live cause these little nuggets of them together are some of the most wholesome moments in all of CSM

to me reading yoshida saying “did he not hear me” was an indication that this will turn physical next chapter

So far this is what I think the intentions of the characters are: Yoru: she wants to kill chainsawman Fami: she wants to stop the prophecy and she needs Yoru for that Nayuta: she wants a good education Asa: she wants human connection Denji: he wants to have seggs Yoshida: he wants Denji to stop being Chainsawman and stop the prophecy Fake-Chainsawman: ?, maybe he/she wants the end of humanity?

It was great how Dennis shook Yoshida so much plus him being like nah I got two choices baby also the hug with Nayuta was awesome plus Meowy is alive LFG

I got the impression that Yoshida thought Denji was a normal person with mannerisms, and now he had to change his impression of Denji for good. It looked like he had lost control of something he thought was at hand.

Yoshida was visibly shooked and I loved that!

Yoshida losing his cool here was interesting, as he only lost his composure when he was about to be thrown out of a window by Quanxi in their fight in part 1.

The only other time he wasnt his cool and aloof self was when Quanxi threw his ass out of that window.

Yoshida is the most stressed I've seen him before! that shows how impending this Nostradamus prophecy is to the public safety & the world, I'm curious on how far Yoshida he'll go to make sure Denji doesn't turn into Chainsaw Man

I might be alone when I say this but in my opinion, I think Yoshida has good intentions here but went about the wrong way. I say this because this is the first time in the series we seen Yoshida show intense emotions in any of the screentime he is given in the story. Yoshida always has this cool-headed, swagger-like, mysterious vibe to him making him very hard to read and downright untrustworthy every time he speaks. This time however, he actually getting frustrated and fighting against Denji's refusal to choose between what life he wants to live. It also seems to me, in one of panels that Yoshida is actually restraining himself from telling Denji the true reason as to why he doesn't want him to turn into Chainsaw Man. Maybe because he might be ordered to not say anything or whatever the case maybe. All speculation by the way.

For someone calling Denji dumb what he did was pretty dumb. I don’t trust nor like Yoshida, though he isn’t fully wrong about Denji eventually has to decide between being Chainsaw man or Nayuta in the future. What made his plan and bluff not work is that his main flaw: never giving any good reason or backing up his reasoning. We have seen multiple times throughout part two where he rarely back up his points and when he does they feel bland. Yoshida in this chapter literally just said you have to make one choice this, you have to make one choice that and aside from telling Denji that he will kill Nayuta and tell him that he should just live a normal life without being the chainsaw man he never further back up his points.

It's interesting how he repeated the "we'll show you Nayuta's corpse" instead saying they'll kill her, I don't think Fujimoto adds lines for no reason

This chapter was priceless and wholesome, but it was also very unsettling. It was perfect.

This video really got me thinking about where the story is going, specifically how I can see Fuji going as far as a Part III for CSM and ending Part II on a real cliff hanger, prophecy fulfilled, age of devil is here type situation

Not gonna lie Yoshida could potentially be the main antagonist of part 2. He's the most mysterious character so far, we don't his true motivation and he does act a little suspicious. He reminds me of Makima from part 1 where throught the story we didn't know much about her up until the last 2 arcs. Fujimoto might pull something similar in part 2 by having Yoshida being sidelined as a villain for now and giving the spotlight to justice devil, fami, fake-saw man, falling devil and yoru. Only to reveal in the end that Yoshida is the final villain.

Denji was like: nah I am gonna do my own thing

I am so confused about Yoshida’s motives and alignments. He’s a very mysterious guy overall but what does he gain from getting rid of chainsaw man? Don’t they need Denji to fight the king of terror? I hope we get some clear answers in the future.

Fun fact:Asa and Yoru means morning and night which adds more depth to there characters

Some theorists on reddit have speculated that Part 2 will end with Denji abandoning the Chainsaw Man alias and fully giving into the "country mouse" mentality, but wouldn't that be him indirectly giving into the "Ignorance is bliss" mentality Quanxi talked about? Like, i get that Fujimotor said this & that about how "ending a superhero story should ALWAYS be done like ____!!!" in a interview once, and how Nayuta + Asa + Chainsaw-Fans are able to be perceved as being "negative influences" to Denji by Yoshida (who is _technically_ the most caring person towards Denji in part 2)... But isn't retreating away from the problems of the city and hiding yourself away for a mere wish of "living in peace" (which might i add may never even come true, since even when he was technically a country mouse Denji still had to live in constant danger of being killed by debt-hungry yakuza for a quarter of the basic human rights he has now), PRIME Quanxi behaviour? And should we _REALLY_ trust the same guy who told Kishibe he was motivated solely "for money", even with the knowledge of Makima being a international threat? the guy who literally killed one of the assasin-brothers in cold blood with a creepypasta grin on his face? *THAT* GUY? Just because his motivations all circle around benefiting Denji's life on paper? (when he literally threatend to kill Denji's semi-manipulative, yet also well-intentioned sister? in the very ultimatum he proposed?) I don't wanna be mean or anything, but _certain people_ are straight up starting to view Yoshida like how Denji thought of Makima in part 1... Im just confused that's all.

God I still think the facial expressions are god tier. Denji goes from hanging his head low and looking off to the side the entire conversation. Also his expressions are all over the place from depressed/sad to distraught and anxious. Then when he screams out for the protesters to kill him he grabbed the sides of his head and screamed like people do in movies when they are so overwhelmed with emotions they don’t know what to do. Then the second he sees Nayuta it’s wide eyes & a big ol smile. Once Nayuta shows up his demeanour changes completely when speaking the the octopus guy. He’s no longer hanging his head low & not making eye contact. While Denji doesn’t have loads of confidence (like even when he’s standing up right he still hangs his head down a bit) he wasn’t avoiding eye contact with octo guy anymore. While he doesn’t really say anything but that they are going home his facial expression when he finally makes eye contact with dude is fucking chilling. Looks like Denji’s ready to kill & other than his father Denji hasn’t killed anything but devils, fiends and the zombified Yakuza. I’m super curious where this goes, I don’t think it would be easy for Denji to kill another human tho

Well, I think Yoshida was bluffing with Denji the whole time, he complained to the other guy saying "I wasn't done with Denji yet" and he asked Denji if he was about to chose Nayuta over Chansaw Man, as if it really was a test because he never intended to kill Nayuta, she was always supposed to go back to Denji all along, no matter the answer. Besides, the reason Nayuta got there was probably due to her ability to control people. She's powerful enough, no one could separate her from Denji for too long, but she's rather a good girl, she could have killed many, yet she didn't.

this is a minor thing, but every time you talk about the death devil being erased, you present it as the fear of death being gone, or the knowledge of death being gone, but from what we know, when a devil is erased, the thing it is about is erased completely, not just the fear of it. like, makima specifically mentions about the hybrids "the name that referred to them was eaten by you and erased. yet somehow, their existence was not" meaning that even though the hybrids have managed to stay around, if chainsaw man erased death, death would be erased from the universe, not just the fear/knowledge of death

Its completely understandable why Denji is being defiant. He's sick and tired of people telling him what to do and threatening him if he doesn't comply. The whole reason Makima wanted Denji dead is because she wanted him to stop being Chainsaw man. Now Yoshida wants Denji to stop being Chainsaw man under the ghise that its for his own good. And is giving a ultimatum if he dosnt agree with it. But Denji isnt buying that bullshit. He wants to be who he wants to be without strings.

We also dont know what happens if Nayuta takes damage, fatal or non fatal. Did Makimas contracts break during the reincarnation? Or are they still there? One thing speaking against contracts breaking on death, is that Power made a contract just before dying. That would have been pointless.

Denji have to learn the hard way. It not going to end well for him. Yoshida did try to talk to warn him but Denji is selfish and reckless as ever. He made his choices.

Nayuta is too precious, must protecc. Thing is: how the hell would they even be able to kill Nayuta? She's very powerful. Also, Denji isn't manipulated by Nayuta in this instance, it's his will to protect her. Nayuta for now is extending her control over him only for jealousy, like with Asa... I am still wondering who that "fake" Chainsawman was.

I think to stop the Nostradamus prophecy to occur , Asa / Yoru , the war Devil will turn denji into a weapon in the future chapters. I don't know about you guys but that's what I think was being foreshadowed since Fami / Famine devil first mentioned about the prophecy.

i'm really curious what will happen until the prophecy because there's roughly an in-universe year left until july of 1999, so either some crazy shit is yet to happen or we'll get a time skip in some way. wouldn't be unheard of since in ch 98 we start off with an immediate 3 month skip but i really wonder why everyone is making moves a year before the prophecy is supposed to come true

This chapter really surprised me.

Honestly I think it’s more likely that Denji dies this part than nayuta, considering all that Denji had already gone through. To have him lose yet another family, just seems like too much, and just suffering for the sake of suffering. It would be alot more interesting to see how nayuta would react and cope with the death of Denji.

This whole situation with yoshida points to yoshida not being chainsaw man, this is due to the points he makes and the request to denji, he feels chainsaw man is making the world/japan worse as there are now protesters and asks denji to never transform again. If he were fakesaw man AKA most likely a big fan then whyd he tell chainsaw man to never show their face again as if denji stopped and fakesaw didn't then to the public it would seem like there's 1 still as they aren't aware of fakesaw man, yoshida clearly didn't ever want chainsaw man to be famous so there would be no point to be a fakesaw man help out. One chapter alone makes it seem like yoshida is less the fakesaw devil and more the sus devil

People hate it when i say that i like Denji because he is unique and entertaining not because he is well developed. For me Denji is like Luffy, these type of characters complete their world and are unique to themself. They have small character development moment but their core remain the same They are well written not well developed because not every character need to be well developed for them to be great

Yoshida finally got that part one sweat.

Yoshida is not a "secret villain". This chapter is the best proof that he is at a core just pathetic dude who is trying to act tough and mysterious to be seen as cool when he is in fact a looser. He knows NOTHING. Just as everyone else. And he is trying to do his job at Public Safety, and he sucks at it big time. Yes, Fujimoto used bait and switch. Again. Public safety is worried of Chainsaw Man issue because there is a tense political outrage in society and Public Safety can be forced by other political groups involved in this, to kill Denji and Chainsaw Man if these groups will order so. In which case Public Safety will be obliged to follow this order to kill him. And i bet - they don't really like the prospect of this idea. They want to stop him from turning into Chainsaw, in order to mitigate chances for civil war in Japan, because it's about to start if Chainsaw will continue to appear on public. And now we are getting closer to the real story. Fake-Chainsaw and Fami are trying to START a CIVIL WAR in Japan in order to return all War devil's powers back. Because as Fami said to Nayuta - of them all, only War devil is strong enough to stop what is coming. That's what they are doing, and that what they need people around Chainsaw for. It's not about Chainsaw, it's about his loyalists which will ignite uprising to start WAR. That's why there are loyalists and protesters in Japan or even across the globe. The plan is to ignite CIVIL WAR. That's their plan at large. And it's what Public Safety is trying to stop by forcing Denji to disappear. So yes, this story ark is all about group of devils trying hard to start WAR to return WAR devil's powers back. I guess i just spoiled entire story ark right now.

I think Yoshida might be the character cover for volume 16, and if Fujimoto is consistent, that would round off the “Horsemen every two covers” thing, making Yoshida the Death Devil, which I wouldn’t be surprised if he is.

Yoshida might want to stop the hero(chainsaw man or if prophecy vague enough asta) stop from doing something that causes the prophecy.
