State regulators confirm a dozen sightings of rhesus macaques over the past eight months -- the first time they've ever been reported in Northeast Florida.
You can kill them any place you can leagle hunt. Fwc had a program to kill them and it was working. But peta got it stoped about 7 years ago. Now you are seeing peta handy work with them spreading.
@@tbjtbj4786 They can't have them shot in residential areas with a .22? seems like It should be some ones job. Other than that I'd poison them I guess they like to eat, humane killing is subjective.
@@papapsych2746 some citys you could shoot them in town but most in the north of the state. The southern part of fl has way more people. The fwc did take them out for years quietly. But peta found out about it and started lawsuit all the time causing delays and money issues. So the state just stopped. I guess there thinking like the pythons once the problem really bad then most people will be fine with culling them.
I think they should all be poison to death and exterminated they’re a nuisance there’s rats that live in trees and they should definitely all be killed.
Their not protected and its legal to kill them so long as its loosely humane, but how does Florida's gun laws affect my prospects of hunting them? I don't want to do a minimum 10-20 years for trying to help the environment.
Open season, no limit, no restrictions on how they're eliminated.. That wouldn't necessarily eradicate them, but it should keep them under control. It seems lots of people would enjoy hunting monkeys.
Cicada Smasher no It’s humans you gotta watch out for, as humans we are the most invasive species in the world and the most damaging! As humans we already cut down half of the worlds rainforest and we also dumped enough plastic in the ocean that can cover the size of India
@@BryanNeer "We"? I did no such thing. If you feel that you fall in your proverbial "we", then don't do that. Or you can exit this world to do it a service, that's your choice. But were talking about herpe monkies here, not you kumbaiya blatherings. And we don't want herpe monkies running around in this continent.
Too bad the animal lovers won’t allow that..since they think human lives arnt valuable as monkey lives... Noo...I think Florida is doomed...they’ll soread and wreck havoc on the wild life and plant life..destroying the ecosystem...but since their monkeys the animals lovers would let them kidnap human baby’s and raid family’s homes for food if you don’t feed them 24/7...these monkeys are known for raiding houses and getting into water tanks..so even the drinking water could be dangerous to drink...be cautious of everything while in Florida...especially the drinking water
FL is so lucky. Please send them up to GA, I will accept them with open arms (22Lr and .223) full banana Mag's and bird shots would be every Georgians dream Send them all over the State line.
Every one needs to start getting their permits ( yes u can get one for monkeys I know a few ppl that hunt them in Florida) they are pretty aggressive and will be in more residential areas as more food becomes scarce and if ppl start feeding them. They breed like rabbits and population will keep increasing. Residents need to arm up and take it in their own hands.
I mean I live in Ocala Florida and have for over 30 years and have not ever heard of anyone being allowed to kill the monkeys pretty sure there's not a permit because they were protected when they escape from Silver Springs National Park so I'm assuming you're probably still protected so I think your friend is telling you a monkey of a tell because I'm pretty sure they're not killing them and if they are let me find out I'll be the one to call Crime Stoppers we have rhesus macaque monkeys in Florida and although they are not endangered they are a protected species
They brought the monkeys in when they filmed old Tarzan series. They thought monkeys couldn’t swim and left them on the island! The story at Silver Springs has changed since 1976.
help .. trying to find a good location so I can steal a few baby monkeys and keep as pets.. and I'll probably let my dogs use them as squeaky chew toys. not to kill them but just to chew on them some
I was thinking poison a troop around the spring time when they give birth and follow them until they are incapacitated to finish them off and put the babies in a bag. Make youtube videos to promote my website, dedicated to content of miserable and dying baby monkeys.
Do you really need permission to remove these things? They were literally just tossed there and these things mate more than a jackrabbit. If left untouched we will have these filthy things moving further out. I mean it's two years later, ehat has been done to control these monsters?
Some countries in Asia are giving $7 per animal I seem to recall. Because they have become so invasive to the point of stealing infants from homes and attacking people.
I'm in Bulloch county. Haven't seen any of the invasive Tegu lizards yet but they're supposed to be in the area. How far down in SE GA are you seeing the monkeys? Maybe the state DNR will react the way they have about big cats down here (I've seen one near Reidsville) and just say they don't exist!

Macaques are not chimps, people need to stop making that comparison. They're an invasive disease carrying vermin who need to be culled. Thankfully I don't love in Florida and they would not survive where I live as the winter would do us the favor and kill them off. Japanese Macaques are a different story but these filthy Macaques are a very serious issue. Let's hope PETA kills more of them than they do our pets every year since they want to protect an invasive disease carrying species of monkeys.
Just let them live!!! You can't keep killing animals because they are not tame, caged ,and not what some people want around..but we shouldn't be killing these wild animals..we should learn to adapt like the animals are trying to...
@@Doom_Squid_Son & so were the Pythons "fine" in the beginning years ago and now??? They have no as in none for predators; carry diseases; and can seriously hurt humans both adults and more so children as well as pets as well as be very destructive to buildings, cars, trucks and such. So let's revisit this in 10+ years and see how "fine" they are then?
@@marlinmr7 m8 the monkeys aren't like the hogs or pythons. They are more like the peacocks. They are non-native but not really causing any trouble to the ecosystems. Right when the pythons came, they were immediately causing trouble to the ecosystems. There's a difference between the 2 animals. Plus, pythons literally eat gators, while the monkey wouldn't stand a chance against a gator.
