They're making a 400m CUBE SKYSCRAPER, so I made it in Cities Skylines! 

Saudi Arabia is leading the charge to make our favourite dystopias into reality. Thankfully they're going at it like some proper architects, meaning society is probably safe for now.

I would love for you to find a way to plaster buildings all around the cube (or windows) to give the illusion that it's a giant building itself.

For context (2:13), 1 unit in the game = 8 metres in real life. So if we were to do the calculations, dividing 400 by 8, we would get 50 in-game units. (Or you could get the "Precision Engineering" mod on the Steam workshop)

I don't think any of these projects will ever be built in the real world. I'm pretty sure Saudi Arabia has just turned grifting into a competitive sport on an industrial scale

Engitopia needs a monument like the Spire, Of course because natural disasters are a thing, it needs to be the strongest shape, like the rock pillar at 1:30

I just binged watched the Engitopia playlist, and from how it started with realistic engineering principles and design concepts to what it is now with things like a poocano providing infinite power, all I can say is, "Wow, the UK is really making some incredible innovations in engineering!"

Oh, nice, it's all the horrors of the Kowloon walled city stretched out to about twelve times the size horizontally and then stacked ten times vertically. That's impressive, imagine all the squalor and human suffering you can fit in there. And that's not even considering a potential basement and the surrounding shanty towns that will inevitably crop up! Amazing!

you are a menace to the archaeological community for helping make that tunnel under stone henge irl. 😂😂 thanks for making my job harder for when i finish uni. 😂 joking aside, i have been waiting for the chance to ask someone about this. what precautions did you take to ensure the safety of archaeological artifacts, data, and burials in the area surrounding the henge? the ones yet to be uncovered, i mean. i know the construction teams will probably end up finding some things, and i am sure there will be teams on site for advice, and for aiding in ensuring that nothing of significance is damaged, but i was wondering if there were any precautions set in place to try and avoid damaging the significant things left unfound under the site and its surrounding area.

Even though Saudi Arabia always comes up with the worst and most pointless engineering ideas like The Cube, The Line or the hexagonal city, it is always fun to watch RCE recreate these in Cities Skylines

You should be able to open the map in map editor, then export it s PNG greyscale heightmap, edit in image editor and import it back in the game.. of course, you will lose all the buildings and roads etc... But, in the future, in some other stupid challenge that could be useful to know how to export/import heightmaps and then how to edit them... For ex, you could make checker pattern map, with nothing but min/max heights...

You could make little land shelves sticking out of the side of the dirt and plant the skyscrapers them to cover the sides

IIRC where it relates to distance conversion, 1 in-game unit of measure = 8 meters. Whilst building a piece of road, for instance, if you make one single square, that square is 8x8 meters. So you'd need 50x50 to get your 400x400. Having said that, the game is pretty inconsistent in this regard. Widths seem more properly represented than heights do overall.
