They're... Not Going to KILL XAL'ATATH in The War Within Are They? Right? 

I hope you start doing the deep dives into these cinematics again. I love how you talk about the music, references, and framing of scenes adds so much to them and its something that no other content creator can replicate. I could listen to tali do deep dives on anything

It's just crazy to think Azshara, Xal'atath, Iridikron, and Sire Denathrius are all still out there scheming. Makes the storyline of The World Soul Saga and the finall boss of TWW more intriguing

I have the same thinking as Tali, but on a slightly faster timeline. My theory is that we stop Xal'atath in TWW, but it directly leads into Iridikron's plan. The void attack on the Sunwell and Silvermoon is (part of) his plans to get the attention of the Titans by making an insurmountable threat such that not even reoriginating the planet would save the world soul, and we spend Midnight trying to stop his final plan. At the end of Midnight, with all the chaos of Iridkiron's plan having unfolded, Algalon pulls the trigger to call the Titans back to Azeroth, setting up TLT. At that point, my two theories are that we either stop Iridkiron but are too late and have to deal with the Titans, or we don't stop Iridikron and he defeats the Titans, leading to us having to deal with Sargeras again. Either way, I agree in thinking that Aman'thul or Sargeras being the final boss of TLT is most likely.

Xal's eyes remind me of the moons of Azeroth. Like Elune being eclipsed by the Blue Child kinda look

Why can't we have Xal'latath as the final boss of War Within, we lose to her and then her plan proceeds into Midnight?

Xal'atath should be the final boss of The Last Titan. Alternatively she could also be the final boss of Midnight given that Midnight is supposed to be the big Void vs Light expansion, with Iridikron (or even Aman'thul) being the final boss of The Last Titan.

Xal'atath reminds mo so much of Emil Narud/Samir Duran from Starcraft franchise.

I think Xal is going to be the last raid boss of Midnight, but we'll be too late and Dimensius will manifest on Azeroth and begin his invasion, kind of how when we defeated Azshara we released N'Zoth. Which will in turn recall the Titans back to Ulduar to stop the void. But my question is, if the Titans return what is to become of Illidan and Sargeras? I hoping they're the ones who will kind of reveal to us the Titan's master plan or whatever conspiracy Metzen teased at Blizzcon.

I think we will actually lose in The War Within right at the end, unexpectedly. Then we will start Midnight in this urgency state of mind and it won't have a definitive conclusion that you could say "we won" nor "we lost", in order to build up for The Last Titan. In The Last Titan we will reach the end and actually see how bad the titans actually were/are and we will actually team up with Iridikron (plot twist) and help him defeat the last (corrupted) titan.

Endboss tww galakrond as a void version or iredikron with the essence of him!

Lilith and Inarius got both gone dirty in Diablo 4, despite the devs claiming they'd be the centerpieces for the future DLCs and for years to come. Like real in-depth characters. And not killed off that easily. Hell, we didn't even get to fight Inarius. The void doesn't have any real characters that we know of or will care about. We care about Xal'athath, so I can imagine her making to Midnight for that reason alone. Iridikron has pitted us against the void, because he expects us to win, and us being focused on the void gives him all the time in the world to do whatever he wants. I do wonder what Iridikron's plan really is. I imagine he might actually want to 'free' the world soul from the Titan's influence, and everyone elses. Azshara seems like someone who'd work together with Iridikron, over the void, since N'zoth fucked her over, and she clearly didn't like that at all.

I don't her to be deal with so soon. At least I would make her have like... A sacrifice or something to finally win at the end of the expansion and that be the start of Midnight

They're not going to completely rebrand, elevate and hard push a character just to kill them off 12-18months later. I know they have Microsoft money now, but still they're not going to throw it away just like that. I'd be surprised if they even kill her off during the World Soul Saga. She'll probably be more useful that that.

I honestly doubt we'll ever fight her directly any time soon. She seems much more set up to be an indirect antagonist. Someone that uses and manipulates us, not wants to eliminate us. We've got too much value to her, even if we do foil her plans.

Given her massive connection to the void and old gods...Will we see Azshara again in the war within? If not, will we see her again in this worldsoul trilogy?

I agree that Matzen has no relationship with Xalatath. This is just a guess, but I think War Within was well into production before Metzen returned and Danuser exited. Clearly Metzen will steer the ending of WW toward Midnight, ie, he will steer Danuser's WW toward his Midnight. Again, just a guess, but my gut is telling me Metzen was not heavily involved with DF or WW

Xal'atath's true form can't be killed. That's why she was trapped in the knife. We'll defeat her borrowed body but have to trap her essence inside a new vessel like the blade again. At least that's my theory.

All of the promotional material being Xalatath tells me she has to die in this xpac. They can't use her front and center on the next one too, it doesn't differentiate enough. I wish Xalatath would last.

Historically speaking, the box villain doesn't survive the expansion. However, also historically speaking, they've never told a story lasting multiple expansions

She dead mate. Though, i think we're gonna fight her in TWW, we're gonna beat the raid boss fight, but not actually defeat her... then she'll lead into Midnight and there's when we're gonna actually kill her.

I hope she survives, too. I really like your idea of her ascending to some true form at the end of a raid encounter with her. Between the knife and her new form, I get the sense that she's just temporarily housed in a meat puppet vessel which she will inevitably have to cast aside.

Xal has a good character setup, but they need to deliver on her backstory and motivations to secure her as a memorable villain. We don’t want a repeat of the Jailer.

It would be a surprise if not if Iridikron outsmart both Xal'atath and Queen Azshara. Or atleast outlive them both. I want Iridikron to take on the titans atleast.

I’m calling it now: Xal’atath is going to do something really bad and force Alleria to succumb to the void (Neltharion style) to stop her, which was Xal’atath’s plan all along. Void Alleria will be the one to do the void shenanigans in Midnight.

I hope they turn her into a continuing character, something like an evil Wrathion. When she realizes that Iridicron has used her, its becomes "the enemy of my enemy....." and she fights by our side to end him but with full on evil intent. Then she becomes a long running evil character that pops up and "aids" us when it aligns with her purpose. She will openly tells us she is deceiving us and will betray us but we need her so we go along and get bitten every time. I love those completely transparent evil characters that tell you exactly what they will do but you never believe them until it happens, over and over again LOL

I honestly hope Iridikron gets corrupted by the Titans. For all his schemes and strategy, would be epic to see him be controlled by the Titans forced to serve their ends. Whatever his story ends up being I'm looking forward to it!

I cant believe how many people are still only on surface with this. YES, BLIZZ IS PUSHING XAL, and they want her to be good villain. But she is just a harbinger, thats all... she is here with 1 task only, like guldan was for legion, to open the gate strong enough to bring his masters inside. Like is everyone forgetting they have been hinting nerubians sacrificing on lowest level of khazalgar to 5th old god? And that Dimensius is on the way to Azeroth? Like i get it, Xalatath is great, and I think she will survive most if not whole saga. But after 25 fuc*king years we are getting Void lords and that long hinted 5th and strongest old god, one to best them all. Also i'm much more hyped to see what is Xalataths true form is, this corpse voidelf form is fine but we all know it is hiding true face under that fassade.

Well xal'atath is not meant to be a main villain. She is what she is, a harbinger of the void lords

When Titans arrive and Iridikron fights them, Titans being afraid to lose, they let Sargeras out and fight Iridicron. Sargeras kills Iridicron, Titans die by the hand of Iridikron before that and the last titan is Sargeras and we finally have to fight him for real now

I think the mogu will be relevant, maybe not in the War Within, but in Midnight. I think remix is just a clever way to refresh our memory of MoP lore and introduce it for newer players. Because there is a lot more titan presence in Pandaria than I remember there was. And the Mogu are so ancient. Perhaps in Midnight all the titans are killed and we’re left in an Empire Strikes Back defeat. And the Last Titan is the World Soul, that will bring an end to the Void.

My understanding is still unclear, but the end of Legion was Illidan:" I'm not returning home, I have my own destiny(to fight Sargeras)". So theoretically that implies that if Illidan fought and won against Sargeras he would fill that seat as a new Titan, right? Could Illidan become a Titan and like Sargeras still harness Fel energy? And if that was the case, Iridicron wanting to force a fight against the Titans and him being the main reason that the new world tree was in danger AND by proxy put mommy moon priestess in danger...Illidan would have a LOT of motivation to be the first to throw hands, right?

I think we'll fight her, but we're going to lose hard.

She is either Elune or she is either the ancient one, we have seen the old god Muriel in Kaz’Algar in 2 of their promo trailers now. The Murel depicts an 11 eyes old god, with tentacles coming off its face, with faceless ones and mortals walking up stairs into the ancient one’s mouth. This is the same face that is shown in chronicle book 3 that has an image of 5 old gods on it. With C’thun in the middle, and the other old gods in the boarder of its image. If you look at the top right of this image you can see this same faced god wrapped in vines or more likely, the roots of a world tree. We see roots being manipulated in the latest trailer as a troll like being is dancing and pulling roots to it and connecting them. This same ancient one is showcased in hearthstone. Having the same face shape, the kicker… if you follow any lovecraftian lore, this old god seems to embody Cthylla, the body type is the same and if you read up on Cthylla, the mission is essentially the same mission as Xal’atath. IMO the old gods mission is not complete until they are all killed, their mission was never to live, but to die. Only then can their true plan truely begin. Also… I’m just saying it now, but I do not foresee the pantheon being the final encounter in this world soul saga… that would be Sire Denathrius and his Nathrazim. They have infiltrated all of the cosmological powers, including ours (yes I firmly believe that Pepe is a dread lord) which, if you know the meaning of their name.. it makes sense… the unseen guests. Everything that has been set in motion is due to their manipulation, and we are reaching the end goal for that manipulation. IMO Denathrius is going to swoop in at the last minute and try and claim Azeroth for himself, be it absorbing her, or Azeroth becoming his avatar. Just my thoughts.

What if it's Aman'Thul himself who ends up being corrupted by the void and he's thr last boss of the Last Titan?

here's my xal'atath predictions: TWW tier 1: we get access to her void empowerment process TWW tier 2: the goblins work on making a void something machine TWW tier 3: we "defeat" xal'atath and send her back to the void MN tier 3: xal'atath is the final boss, in her void form, trying to materialize back into our realm, this distracts us from what iridikron is doing, and his plan succeding [something something] Xal'atath enters our realm and takes over the sunwell.

Definitely don't see Xala'tath as playing "second fiddle" to Iridikron. Iridikron still has things to do, but I don't think it means he's 'second fiddle'. Definitely think we'll lose to Xal in TWW and defeat her in Midnight, and that Aman'thul (or an Ordered Sargeras at the will of Aman'thul) is the final boss of the saga, though.

Did you know that at the end of the first trailer when the title rolls the theme that's playing is actually Ahsoka's theme?

I just want to say something on this multiple timelines bs, it does not matter if we stop one or the other. Mochie and the infinites still exist as well as so many different versions of Chromie. That is the problem with multiple timelines, stopping one or the other does not mean it should affect our timeline. If we stopped Murozond from existing, shouldn't that mean Mochie does not exist anymore. But the fact she does still exist, says that we could have stopped Iridicron and still Murozond could exist in a different timeline, not just ours. Just like how we saw different timelines for Azeroth if we failed against certain Big Bosses. Going back in time creates a new separate timeline, bc you can not change the past. It's the grandfather paradox all over again. And yes it's one of the reasons why I did not like WoD and how it connected a different past to our present.

i do not understand why Tali thinks She might die in TWW, when during the Annoucement of MIDNIGHT they state the Whole Reason we're going to Silvermoon is because Xalatath wants to corrupt the Sun well. But people forgot so much about the midnight announcement. mostly that they prefaced it with "Returning to the old world" and that we will be able to fly from EPL to Quel'thalas, which in itself has major implications.

Okay so here's what we got : -> "xalatath taunts us" - alleria -> "your righteous fury will be mine" - xalatath -> blizzard pushes xalatath everywhere, making her the center of attention So here comes my theory : Xalatath will somehow "mind control" us or make us fight/kill one/several goodies by making us believe we're fighting her. Like show us an illusion of herself to make us fight her. I feel like that would explain alleria's and xalatath's lines, as well as why blizzard is pushing her front and center. Therefore, our "righteous fury" will make the sunwell vulnerable and/or open a gateway to the void army to invade our world. Also that way we get to fight xalatath both at the end of TWW and Midnight.

I hope we don't kill Xal'atath, beat her, sure, but with heavy cost and she doesn't die. That'd be my ideal, I think. Her lasting into Midnight. Slightly unrelated but was in one of the trailers, Thrall's Element issue... mayhaps it's time he found solace in another power? The Light? The Void? We know class changes exist in-universe, so what if that's where his journey goes? Finding peace in another power? He and Anduin are tight af, would be cool to see them take that journey together through the Worldsoul Saga...

100% she is going to be the ultimate bad guy for the entire trilogy. TWW is the setup, we get empire strikes backed in the next one, and it ends with us fighting Xal in the last expac.

Prediction: Xal'atath is the final raid boss of TWW. But when we get her down to almost dead, Iridikron shows up and does something catastrophic to break the world. TWW ends with both of them still alive. Xal'atath is not on board and switches sides to go after Iridikron. Midnight opens with us teaming up with Xal'atath to kill Iridikron (we clearly haven't learned our lesson) since he's eviler for breaking the world. Then Iridikron is the final boss for Midnight. Obviously she betrays us again at some point because duh.

As soon as he said "guess," I thought of the emperor, but yeah, they can't necessarily pay off everything we establish in the WSS in that saga itself because we need stuff for after the WSS. You know... unless we're concluding WoW with the WSS...

Given that Midnight will follow The War Within, I'd argue it highly likely Xal'atath's plan will succeed and it'd be stupid if she weren't there to enjoy her victory. And be killed while enjoying it somewhere halfway Midnight.

I think the comparison to Lillith is reasonable but you're missing a key point: bad guys don't die in the Diablo games. The butcher has appeared in 3 of the 4 mainline diablo games. Diablo has been a major boss in every game but 4 so far. You expect these characters to be able to show back up. WoW doesn't have the same privilege.

I'm pretty sure Aleria will change into her outfit offscreen. This isn't THAT sort of game... yet. As for Xal'atath, she has serious Arthas energy. Her smirk looks a lot like that split image of Arthas/Litch King.

I think we as a whole need to stop thinking that there is unity within the Void. Yes, Xally loves the Void, but only because she is of it. We need to remember that the first beings to stop her from claiming the World Soul were the Old Gods. Along with the very possessive dialogue from the recent cinematic really does point towards her wanting Azeroth not for "the good of the Void", but for "the good of Xal'atath". Most likely in order to usurp the Void Lords and rule the Void herself, and based on the Void's refusal to focus on any one truth, there are likely many other void beings that want the same goal, but are unwilling to work together to get it.

What about Locus--Walker being a big bad??. He knows xalatath. He has had some interaction with her before and even chuckles at the idea of her being the harbinger. We still don't know exactly who or what he is. We don't really fully know what happened in their planet except what they wanted to tell us happened.

I think you are forgetting one very important potential character that could be the last boss of TWW Tali. The Naaru in the egg in the sky. Why is Xal underground here? It ain't the spiders, there are plenty of other voidy allies she could find and we kill their Queen in the first raid. She's there for the crystal. Why do you think the Void turned Arathi cultists keep trying to tun the crystal void? She hatches it in its Void state and that is your last boss of TTW. She wants the void Naaru as her ally, but she will be willing to sacrifice it as well because if it hatches as a Light Naaru it's a formidable enemy. She's going to want it either under her influence or just out of the picture. Wouldn't be surprised if she does something similar with the Roots of the World Tree as well. She wants the Void to win the battle for the World Soul, and to do that she needs to eliminate the other contenders for it. The Light and Life have their players down there in one convenient place.

Maybe They make A player housing in the Expansion after TWW and Xalatath becomes Friendly NPC and stays at your house.

In BFA in the battle for lord Arron when Sylvanas tells Anduin to muzzle your dog referring to Genn is one of my favorite wow cinematics ever. She was just so evil, I loved it.

The Arathi emperor would truly suck as a final boss for war within. Why are we dealing with this dude who barely has any connection to where we are and what we're trying to do this entire expansion. Alleria or something else maybe etheral-related actually makes a lot of sense, but the Arathi empire storyline seems way too big to handle in a patch. Like that's a N'Zoth level let down

Why would her being the end boss in TWW be a bad thing? Cause Tali is a simp for her (and that is not a bad thing), Midnight baddie will be a true void lord most likely. She gets defeated in TWW but brings her "master" to Azeroth. then the Titans are the big bads in that last xpac

11:20 The way timetravel works in wow isn't really consistent imo. If prior quests were to be considered, where we go back in time on our own timeline, nothing could stop us from stopping both plans with the same team (or at worst, simply go back enough in time to assemble a second team and defeat both then).

I personally feel like Xal'atath isn't stupid to ignore Iridakron's true desires. I think it would be dumb if he fools her, at most I think Xal will be on top.

I am inclined to believe that Xal'atath is going to have one of those type of arcs where they are eventually going to reveal that she's NOT a baddie and/or possibly going to be written like some anti-hero like an Illidan or Arthas.

I think Iridrikon is going to bite the dust far before Xalathat, he just going to be outplayed, used and discarded by her, just like everybody else before him that had dealt with her, just like he used and discarded Fyrakk.

If Blizz does have Xalatath die at the end of TWW, I think they'll bring her back somehow for Midnight.

I would imagine well fight iridikron before xal. Her whole thing is using us and others to accomplish her goals. Like she says"your rage will be mine." I doubt she will die until midnight or at least the end of war within, which will usher in midnight.

It seems to me that at this initial point people (including Tali) still kind of think about the three expansions as three patches. They have to use about lots of bosses and villains in 9 patches and about 24 new dungeons. Still a lot to go through! ;)

For sure we'll fight her in war within and certainly we'll loose. Retribution for us will come in midnight. Mark my words, Tali.

With Vyranoth sticking around as the Aspect of the Storms, we don't need Iridikron to survive till The Last Titan, as Vyra shares the same animosity towards the titans,

Zalatath IS dementius, she needs us to free her from the flesh-prison the Old God's trapped it in when it arrived. That way we must align with the 5th Old God. "Your fury will be mine."

I hope not. Killing WoW Villains has started to become a boring trope at this point in story telling and I think maybe in some expansions when they are introduced I want Villains to stay alive longer so that when the time is right then it'll be time for them to die but not yet. Atleast I'm thinking Xal'atath would be dead in Midnight or the Last Titan.

How would we kill Xal'atath tho? Is she the elf now or is she still something else possessing the body? Would swords and magic thrown at the body kill her? How does possession works in wow? Would the devs care at all about it or would they just default to she will die if hit with a sword? I have so many questions

I just want a full on Iridikron just comes in and Smashes the titans heads, cause he got that powerfull. Then he becomes the last titan and we need sargeras and illidan to beat him up. But thats just fanfic :D

My guess is, Iridikron will manage to kill all titans and then the prison will break and the last titan will be Sargeras who will escape. And i think Xal'atath isnt actually all in with the void sure she uses the void, but i actually belive she wants the world soul for herself and not for the void and thats why she was captured in the blade.

Going with Xal is the pre oldgod way of capturing a worldsoul and the old gods replaced her trapping her in a dagger. No way she’s dead in TWW, shes got atleast 2 azshara cheat deaths in her still 👌🏻

what if her goal is to become her true self so that she can take the world soul? i mean, if she's been around all this time and not been able to get it...why? (and yes, i know she was in a knife for god knows how long.. but im not up on the rest of the lore, sorry : ) )what if we lose the battle at the end of the war within.. and actually end up helping her become her true self and that's what takes us into midnight?

I think and hope Xal survives into Midnight but as a Gul'dan role so midnight can focus on Azshara rather.

Aman thul and Sargeras wouldn't be the last titan if we save Azeroth, she is meant to awaken, so SHE would be the last standing. Soooooooooo uh.
