A lot of people counted the Warriors out after Klay got injured and Kevin Durant left. Max Kellerman had a well aged take on the future of the warriors dynasty.
The funny thing is that he actually believes in Steph Curry but has became a complete sell out for ratings to become equivalent to skip hating on Bron. Before he went to first take he was saying it should be Steph in the new Space Jam instead and that we were all living in Steph’s world. You can never trust that these guy’s tv opinion is their actual belief.
@@bqproductions7448 Yeah often times, they play it up for cameras and say whatever to get people riled up. Saying Kawhi was more clutch than Kobe, and "I WANT IGUODALA" was for TV.
Except he didn’t see Wiggins👀 … I was preaching about Wiggins and everybody thought I was crazy😂 I had to talk all my friends into it. And now that he has a chip, he’s only gonna get better😉
i just realized that. Curry: told would not be a good fit because of lack of size, athleticism, true point guard ability. Klay: too one sided. Draymond: low scoring capability, told would not flourish in NBA. Wiggins: Former first pick, most hype since lebron, called bust for many years, lost motivation until playing fordubs. GP2, injuries, lack of size, bad scoring capabilities, pressure because of NBA player son, in and out g league for many years. Porter: in and out of g leauge for years, trouble finding spot after leaving wizards. Bjelica: Trouble finding spot after t wolves, in and out g league. Looney: operations on both hips, most injuries outt of probably everyone here. True warriors indeed
@@legoatjames5723 Also JTA played in other countries for like 7 years and only averaged like 2PPG in college. Damion Lee dealt with major injuries to his knees and only got a chance because he's Steph's brother in law.
@LeGoat James And don't forget Steph had all those injuries in the beginning of his career and the Warriors had to choose whether to keep him or Monta Ellis. A lot of people forget that. The Warriors have been making a lot of good calls for minute now. People need to stop counting them out. They're called the Splash Brothers for a reason. People always gotta be reminded the hard way. Smh
I freaking love this team! Almost every player has an anime like backstory bro! You can literally make a series/movie about this team and their stories. What a TEAM!
@@wilsonramirez5956 SAS said consistently that dynasty was over. He even ripped on Klay multiple times for stating they'd be back at the top soon. SAS changed his tune AFTER Curry went nuts early in season. Guys like Wright and SAS were highly critical. SAS just abandoned his bad take quicker than the rest did
Don’t always agree with Max but he needs to take this W. It always infuriated me when people acted like Steph and Klay weren’t tearing up the league before KD got there. KD made the team unbeatable but they won a ring without him, almost won a second.
All the Warriors needed was a good to very good wing player who could play defense and give around 15-20 pts when needed. Barnes wasn’t that guy, and they had to upgrade and keep it moving since 2016.
@@wealth_wolf but I used to listen to max and Marcellus Wiley on their west coast radio show and it was still to this day the best sports talk show I’ve come across
Man, the Warriors management is really outstanding. Imagine Wiggins, who for the longest time, people calling him a bust in Timberwolves, made him a double double machine in the postseason? Crazy ass franchise.
3:20 that guy really had the worst possible take. The warriors dynasty is not over because the traded for Wiggins. In fact it continued exactly because of that move. Wiggins is basically their new Igi.
The thing is, the platform makes more money when viewers have emotions and reaction to what the commentators are saying. A commentator who speaks with confidence and aggressiveness brings views and it really does not matter if he is right.
@@yaelbarzilai exactly and on top of that if they are wrong and it causes a lot of anger amongst the fans it will make people just talk about it more and earn more views
I couldn't believe those takes following the Wiggins trade, I thought it would be plainly obvious that Wiggins is the perfect addition and successor to the Harrison Barnes/Kevin Durant SF role on the Dubs. The only thing Wiggins needed was time to learn the system and change his mentality and approach to the game which the Warriors had because of their injuries. The fact that it was conventional wisdom that it was a bad move really speak to the incredibly low level of analysis that we as sports fans have to deal with on a daily basis.
This is why so many of us were rooting for GSW. They had more to prove and all the narratives about them being over was getting so toxic that we just wanted GSW to shut literally everyone up and they did. So much journalist have lost what little of their credentials they had left and we got a new wave of player/analysts that are more insightful and in depth as they know what it’s like playing against current teams.
I think it was more of a fuck boston than a go warriors tbh. Don't think anyone but the suns would have had people routing for the Celtics. + Those who just wanted to see Steph get a finals mvp since he should have had one from 2015.
@@Oceandrive487 Nah you misunderstood me. I mean that the people I saw that wanted the warriors to win wanted them to win so that boston didn't more than they were routing for Warriors to win.
No way im still rooting for my team but i believe until the core of gsw is still intact they will be a championship contender. And maybe until klay and curry can still be the best shooter duo and even without green they will be a contender.
The resiliency and mental grit of the team leaders trickled down to all the youngsters. Steph, Klay and Dray are true leaders. The entire team trusts them completely and you can tell when they are on that court.
Oh but now Stephen A is patting himself on the back for saying they will win this season. These “experts” are no better than any of us! Max deserves the credit!
Many of us in the bay area treated the last 2 seasons (prior to this one) with patience... "Let the kids get some experience, cause we're not doing anything till the injuries heal up, and hey, we get a high draft pick". Every loss was "fine" and more about "how did the kids do?" Even in losses you learn a lot and gain experience.
playing time on losing teams is extremely important for young players. if devin booker didn’t get the keys to the offense on those terrible suns teams he most likely wouldn’t have become the star he is today
My thought was let them rest and heal, give the young guys the needed experience and everything will be alright. The only thing I had no clue of what to think was the wiggins move but it went incredible well for us.
The Warriors always had players that were considered “underdogs” that showed up at the most important moments. How can any “professional” analysts look over that one most important detail about a Dynasty such as the Warriors.
Although Max had some crazy takes at times, he would always back up his claims by using some sort of logic. I always respected that about him. Most of these other "analysts" think that a debate is about yelling their opinion and being proud of the fact that they yelled the loudest.
I swear some reporters just think present, present, present! Like holy! Bro! I swear I’m smarter than them. I legit was thinking when everybody comes back healthy and we get some other stars, we are literally like the 2015 warriors again if not better.
Well actually, his far out devil's advocate takes may have been the producers in his ear trying to create controversy and trying to make Steven A look better. You'll notice a difference, between the Max who is smiling through the show and giving bad takes, and the Max who is passionate and giving great takes. Kendrick Perkins recently admitted, that that's all that the producers make them do.
@@accountant3847 Kawhi is in a different stratosphere in terms of efficiency on all levels of scoring. Better FT%, better mid-range%, better % at the rim, _way_ better 3p%... it's not a comparison. Oh, and Kawhi's the better defender too-also not a comparison.
I was rooting for the Warriors because they are the rare team that has won rings with a core comprised of drafted players in a while. Everyone else tries to pull the "Big three" gimmick with players that never seem to fit together on paper or are stat chasers, and when it does not work, act surprised. I also appreciate that they seem able to develop players and utilize role players in a system that focuses on playing team basketball, a crazy concept I know.
Since NBA started in January I predict Warriors gonna Win the Championship ,And my Basketball friends laughed at me,But I confronted them all they did was humm Well Well😂
This may be my favorite "Who said what back when" Video. Max Kellerman isn't my Favorite commentators, but Damn. It looks like he's been right more than he has been wrong - Even with his "Steph has to win a Final MVP to secure his legacy" Stance (Which at the time I thought was ridiculous). Well done Kellerman. Respects.👍👍
I don’t believe he deep down actually believed that himself. I really think he just took that stance for media clicks and interest. Just like he doesn’t really believe PAC has a better legacy than Mayweather but he makes that case anyway because it gets people riled up and tuning in.
As a warriors fan, watching this is almost as satisfying as watching them win game 6 in Boston. This championship means so much more than years past because everyone doubted them going in. Well, dub nation didn't.
@@themollymachine ya'll just spent 346 million on your roster this year, more than THREE TIMES that of the Celtics (112m). Who the fuck are ya'll kidding 🤣
@@idancemyassintothepaint7571 because of luxury tax. That itself is as much as the players salaries. Even with the salaries no one had them winning except a handful of people, who were looked at as crazy. People looked at this team as guys with a bunch of bad contracts. Injured Klay, Triple Single Dray, bust Wiggins, etc. Curry was slumping too. Get out of here with that.
I think what this championship did more than any of the others was prove how important CULTURE is to winning. We knew about Steph, about Klay, about Dre. When you can bring Andrew Wiggins, and get that kind of production out of him when Minnesota was such a rough go for him? That’s what great culture does. You think he would have excelled on the lakers? On the nets? We all know Steph is huge for that, and he’s the engine that brings it all together, but I do think this chip will really enhance Steve Kerr’s legacy as much as anyone else’s.
Culture starts at the Top. The Owners put the money up to create a championship team, the GM and scouts have the brains to make the right decisions and the coach have the knowledge and heart to bring out the best in the Warriors players. All the players show love for each other, the players know their role, lots of selfless actions, even Steph came off the bench to start the playoffs, there doesn't appear to be any petty dramas.
@@n-lytics2053 Great content. Kudos to you! And this amazing video reminds me that the wiser guys in this world are those who really know and respect the "time" as a great savant for us, as human beings!
No one has ever been more wrong with a sports take than Nick Wright was on the Wiggins trade. Next to Steph Wiggins was the most important player for the Warriors winning the title.
Steph kerr is a god for being able to use wiggins as their kd replacement and win another chip. After evryone said wiggind was good but wasnt going to contribute to winning basketball, kerr got him to buy in and damn.
In the words of the great Rudy Tomjanovich, “Never underestimate the heart of a champion.” Guys like Perk come out looking pretty foolish right now. Right on, Max!
Aside from Max' infamous takes on Tom Brady and Iguodala, he's always had some pretty reasonable takes and he articulates them with conviction instead of bandwagonning at the last minute like SAS.
"I want Iguodala!" didn't age too badly. He added another ring, even though he barely played. Warriors look better by than the Lakers now! Gold Blooded!
it’s crazy how people think that kd was the one who carried the warriors when they’re the one who beat okc in 2016 and won the championship in 2015, kd just happened to be in a already great team in favor of him to get the rings, now that kd’s team got swept in play-off and the warriors win the championship pretty much explained everything
I agree with you. I love KD on the court, but I don't have a lot of respect for him. He could've stayed and built a juggernaut with the Warriors, it's too bad he got that karma a few years later.
It's not that crazy, KD was amazing with the W and he was for all intents and purposes the best player. But when he left they just went back to the old recipe, the recipe that made KD want to come and get rings to begin with.
I like how he said -wiggins as an inferior player than d Angelo (beast defensively and undoubtly the 2nd best player on the team) - a pick that would not help them (Jordan Poole emerging as an all-star) all he said literally became the opposite of what happened
@@HoopsRange I wasn't arguing the point lmao. The fact that it turned into kumingma makes it worse for them, D'Angelo Russell for Wiggins and kuminga 😂😂😂. When the trade happened initially before I learned about the pick, I thought it was a massive steal for us. Wiggins fit perfectly and would be great, for a player that had 0 impact on our team, then to learn we also got a top 3 protected pick outta it seemed like highway robbery
I remember this take and saying wow. I can't believe I agree with Max kellerman and I also couldn't believe how short-sided everyone became just because people got hurt
The fact that they based all the opinions on the Lakers (the super team that didn’t even make the playoffs) 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 is more hilarious than that Warriors being done
To be fair some of the takes were from 2019 and the Lakers did win a chip but yeah... To say the Warriors would never win again because the core was aging and there was no depth and then turn around and say Lakers would dominate (a team with no depth and Lebron who is older than the Warriors) was pretty stupid and just showed their biases.
@@cameronsimmons8743 Maybe. Maybe not. You don't have a crystal ball. I don't feel KD nor LeBron are as invested in their teams as they are in their personal legacies. When communication breaks down, KD scrambles and goes to his burner accounts. LeBron tries to be a player and a GM. That approach doesn't work. Miami didn't let LeBron take over the culture. And that's as happy as I ever seen him. Btw, you don't have to insult someone to disagree with them. These are hard times and kindness goes a long way. God bless you
PLEASE MAKE MORE VIDEOS LIKE THIS💯💯💯 These commentators have no one to put them on blast for their L takes and you can be that much needed man. Appreciate you🙏
As I DIE HARD fan….I knew in my heart we would be back. I’m an athlete my self so the Duns were only healing and getting stronger. I love the fact EVERYBODY counted Golden State out. I LOVE IT. Klay is cashing in on all those receipts…..
When Curry was getting back into his half court 3 making frenzy it was pretty obvious that the Warriors had a chance. Curry is the best system player to play in the NBA.
Imagine if the Warrior's front office actually gave 2 shits about what the media says .... amazing to see these Warriors shut the haters up once and for all. The Dubnation summer of pettiness begiiiinsssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In football (soccer) the same type of thing happend with Real Madrid. In the champions league the biggest tourney to win as a club they had to face like 4 super teams and were the underdog in every game they were even down with 2-3 goals against some of them, but they came back every game and won the title its actually pretty insane to see.
This team’s play style ages well enough and is tailor-made for today’s game. They weren’t going anywhere before, and they ain’t going anywhere in the future.
This was such a great compilation of has beens and have nots talking about a sport they can't play and a team they could only dream of being affiliated with.
This video is not just for the warriors. It's for any team that believes in themselves while the world doesn't. Heck, it's for anyone, any sport team or individual, also in other aspects whether that be in business, life etc.
This is great. Something I constantly reiterate is that these mainstream media prognosticators can say anything about the future of franchises and not be held accountable...because who is going to remember? One thing we learned from the Warriors winning this one is that in the aftergame interviews, Steph, Klay and Draymond remembered all of it and used it as motivation....really thankful to the producers of this video (are you guys Dubs fans?) putting in the work to go back and remind us what was said...another victory the internet and YT over mainstream media. Whoa, Max comes out looking like a sage...."one (such as a profound philosopher) distinguished for wisdom."
Because most thought Warriors dynasty was done, it means Curry's contribution was EVEN GREATER!! Warriors will be even stronger next year and another chance at another chip! So many players will come to Warriors on a minimum deal just for a chance for a title!
Fantastically well done video! Well edited, with great research to find all these clips and pair them with the shots of how things actually turned out.
I think the most vital part of it is the players like Andrew, JP3, Kevon, GP2 and the others who worked with Steph, Klay and Draymond in order to win this ring so props to the guys who provided key roles to take over the championship. Kellerman predict it well.
It’s OK to be wrong, it’s just when they are so passionate and so off they look like jokes. Think about this guys, they make millions for making those takes.
As a Minnesota fan watching Andrew Wiggins could be very frustrating. But it was undeniable he had so much talent and is the type of player that’s probably the most valuable type in the league today, who can guard wings and switch onto anyone, gives you size and always was a guy who could score 15-22 points a night. He’s just not a #1 option on a great team and idk if he or the Wolves were ever gonna figure that out. But now with Edwards and the rest of our roster the way it is, Wiggins is exactly the type of player we need to get to the next step
