Kevin Durant Signs with Golden State Warriors 7-25-16 Stephen A. Smith Goes Off On Kevin Durant Again! Stephen A. Smith Goes Off On Kevin Durant Again! Stephen A. Smith Goes Off On Kevin Durant Again!
Gunna shit they push Golden State in the first round to game six and came back from a 31 point deficit sure they lost but they put pressure on them with a healthy KD
That reference does not originate from that show, that is a saying that was being said long before the wire was around. The wire just used that quote but did not invent it.
When Max said “ let’s get it on” I felt very uncomfortable and think he should be suspended by ESPN for awhile. I hope Molly is okay after this traumatic experience
@kevin buggage do you even hear yourself right now my dude???? Smfh his rings hold just as much as lebrons..... did you have this some energy when lebron formed a superteam in miami??? Were u complaining about seeing "competition" then???? Dude busted lebron ass for back to back titles and u tryna say that dont mean anything lol.... get that bitterness out your heart
LMAO you big mad huh? As someone who loves the NBA but doesn’t have a favourite team (I ain’t American or Canadian) I laugh every time I see people crying about KD. He’s a great player and he wanted to win so he went to the Warriors and guess what? HE WON DEM CHIPS. KD the goat. Stay salty kids
Kevin Durant going to the Warriors is the equivalent to Bron going to Boston after ‘10, Jordan going to the Pistons after ‘90 or Kobe going to the Jazz after ‘98.
@@kentonohio7614 he literally said it wasn’t reverse engineering because the Warriors lost the championship. But then 3 years later said it is reverse engineering
Herro Stfu what??? People got mad that he left Cleveland the first time even tho he the next best player was mo Williams lol. He would of crucified for joining the warriors. Kd is a soft and just wanted to win that why he joined GS he wasn’t up for the challenge.
@@kellz1703 sure people got mad but what happened when he joined miami with wade and bosh? Literally the media crowned him the GOAT that rivaled MJ and ge even won multiple mvps KD couldn't win mvp because he had Curry and Klay but LeBron can win mvps with Wade and bosh? Get the hell outahere
In 6 days it will have been 6 years to the day since KD signed with GS. And to this day I can say this was indeed the weakest move in the history of American team sports. KD ruined the NBA for 2 years. It's basically the same thing as if Larry Bird joined Magic and the Lakers to beat MJ.
Magic was always on stacked teams in the 1980s, and for a good amount of that decade the Western Conference was incredibly weak, including a 39-win Sonics team that LA faced in the 1987 Western Conference Finals. A sadly typical record for a Western Conference playoff opponent in those years. Point is, Magic was essentially on a superteam for the majority of his career, while also playing against an overall weak Western Conference for many years. People prefer to forget that.
@@anen9332 Magic got drafted there he didnt leave a challenging team to go there because he couldnt beat them also regardless of how stacked the teams were Magic was the leader.
no it aint,Larry had no problem beating MJ only reason he wouldve left to do that is if he was bored in Boston, its more like MJ leaving the bulls to join the Celtics so he could beat the Lakers
@@shesbaldbutiwould Magic didn't have to leave because he was, as you admit, put in a situation where he had a stacked roster for basically an entire decade while playing in a weak Conference. Why would anyone leave that? Especially when the stacked rosters were on a team located in one of the biggest media markets-- unlike, say, Oklahoma City -- in the world? Furthermore, as point of fact, Magic was "drafted" by the Lakers because the NBA forced small market Utah to give up his draft rights. Rather telling as to the favoritism shown to both Magic and LA. But thanks for conceding my point in your reply. It's appreciated. And hilarious. Shalom.
@@anen9332 no you pompous tool my point is magic just happened to be traded to a stacked team he didn't leave a team who were close to championships to join a team he couldn't get pass maybe if u were actually intelligent instead of thinking u are u woulda comprehended
Kevin Durant is the epitome of if you can't beat em join em. LeBron started the superteam era but at least he didn't join the Celtics, he joined a team that would beat the Celtics
Yeah Russ is top 10 now BARELY I mean LeBron, AD, Kawhi, PG, Kyrie, James Harden, Joel Embiid, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and then you can put Russ Kemba or Dame Dolla.. (didn't mention KD or the 🦄 because of Injury)
@@tommyverdun242 2 weeks after your comment and Steph has already won his 4th chip and his first FMVP and people are now talking about Durants legacy .... If he can win without Steph Curry? 😌😌
Steven A is pissed, Max is cool with it first reaction. 3 years later... Steven A is a warriors fan, Max not impressed by KD winning with warriors. WTF!? Flip flopping! Keep it consistent!
Kevin Durant is spineless. A great athlete is one who, after defeat, goes back and tries to triumph over the team that defeated them. It isn't like Durant pulled off a Karl Malone. He's 28. He still has maybe 5-10 good years in him left. He's still great, but spineless.
did miami win cavs last season? did miami win champion last season ? so what are you talking about ? This cupcake just join a team that could win champion without him, so we called him dusoft.
hell no. this man joined a 73-9 win team that was DOMINATING the league not just in numbers, record, or their ring the prior year, but literally their playstyle and the fact that they have two of the greatest shooters we've ever seen in PLANET EARTH, making that team arguably the greatest team ever assembled. he joined a team he lost against from choking a 3-1 lead. 7 years after it remains the weakest move in sports history. KD's a great athlete, an unstoppable force but nothing changes that fact.
@@nottheone831 joining a 47-35 team that lost in the 1st rd against Boston in five games is not the same thing as KD SINGLE HANDILY RUINING THE NBA BY JOINING A 73-9 TEAM THAT HE HELP BLOW A 3-1 LEAD TO IN THE WCF!
@@michaelkirschner6009 if Klay, dray and curry and Durant all went to the Knicks, that would be better? Stop the bull. Lebron is way worse than K.D. his entire career his been searching and forming super teams and bouncing around the league. The greatest player can't put a team on his back. He has to search for other super stars and he still has a losing finals record!
@@nottheone831Wasn’t KD on the 2021 nets that if they were healthy would win the championship? He is on the suns right now with Beal and Booker. KD had harden and kyrie on the nets, has the suns now and before had the warriors. The 2022 ring the warriors got shoes they didn’t need KD even more since they already had a ring in 2015. Also saying LeBron can’t put a team on his back is hilarious considering he has 2 of the biggest cases of a player carrying a team in NBA history with the 2007 Cavs and the 2018 cavs. It was just LeBron and if he didn’t go for 30 they will lose. The cavs without LeBron until now were one of the worst teams in the east.
They "lost to Lebron James." See that's the stupid stuff I can't take about sports analyst. Kyrie Irving gets no shine in any of this. Even Kevin Love did a few good things.
Shelly Smith stfu bruh lebron is the leader of the team. ur just a hater. give credit when it’s due. did u say “they lost to michael jordan and scottie pippen” it just mj
How did he ruin the league. There has always been super teams. Just cuz they loose doesnt mean it wasnt a supertramp see "lakers, see Boston, see bulls, see Miami, see Detroit etc.
@@TeW33zy No, superteams were Born via Draft or Free Agency, The 80s celtics and Lakers were built via Draft or via free Agency but they never added to their roster another superstar, Imagine if idk Moses Malone went to the Lakers or even Worse Kareem Joined the celtics, these players would have been crucified and erased from basketball history, 2000s Lakers never added idk A dwade to their roster,2008s celtics never added dwight Howard, the heat didn't add Tony Parker But the warriors DID Kevin durant DID And he ruined all the competition of the League If you, a top 3 players in the NBA at the time, joins the second best player named Wardell Stephen Curry along with other 2 all stars you are a Living shit And you know what's the problem? This has created a precedent and so players from now on Will do that as well, Just take a look at Demarcus cousins! The NBA Is now officially dead The nuggets are not a playoff team PG13 can't beat them Toronto Will fall short The only One that can beat that team Is Giannis but i'm sure they Will find a way to injure him like they did to Kawhi KD Is obv the most hated player in the NBA And the warriors are the pussiest them of all time
Ummm can we all admit now that Steven A was right here? I mean KD won 2 rings in GS and still felt slighted in terms of legacy and left to go to Brooklyn
I was so scared Max won't be able to stand his ground against Stephen A. or fill into the shoes of Skip. But with this particular debate.I am impressed.Welcome to ESPN First Take, Max.Looking forward to seeing u do a great job like u just did debating against Stephen A.
It's a big difference between Lbj going to Miami, and Kevin Durant going to GSW, GSW was 73-9 and was the reason kd went home, Miami didn't beat LBJ, then he went to them
There is literally not a single difference. Lebron went to Miami to do what? Win titles. KD went to GS to do what? Win titles. Lebron left CLE why? Because he couldn’t win there. KD left OKC why? Because he couldn’t win there. Ironically Lebron won 2 titles in Miami and KD won 2 titles in GS. Everything sounds the same to me. Oh and before you say he “joined” a 73-9 team he didn’t. Him joining a 73-9 team would be them keeping the same roster that won 73 games and Kd joins on a one year deal without losing a player.
And what’s crazy is that they(the analysts) are CLEARLY ON RECORD saying how weak this move was, and as we sit here today, they try to say he’s the best in the league. Crazy
@@MacManCurtis what more crazy is that they say he take the easiest way to a title but no one is complaining about a LeBron James team up with AD and kawhi ....
Team sports were invented to build character, promote competition, and to stay in great physical shape. It was not invented to have one or even two dominating teams in a league and the other teams have little to zero shot at winning their leagues championship. Although having fun playing a sport is a great feeling to have, it is not the reason we play the sports we play. Question: Would you have more pride in winning a championship with the best athletes in your sport on the same team and just completely dominating every team you play until it gets to the point where other teams look at you and give up before the game has already started? Or would you have more pride in working hard every single day to accomplish a goal you have had since the day you fell in love with the sport, and finally beating a team that you had tried so hard to beat in the past and finally do it? For me personally, I played basketball all my life up until midway through high school (issues with coach) and I never had that much joy in dominating teams by 25+. Yes it seems fun to blow teams out once in a while....but when we did it consistently all year, the game seemed to get a little boring. I never really got excited for games anymore bc I knew the outcome already. Sports are ALL about competition. And if you dont have that competitive spirit in you, then youre not a true athlete. Max is tryna say "Where did all these rules come from?" Well max where did our unalienable rights come from? Theyre morals of a certain culture. Competitiveness is a moral of sports. No body wants dynasties in any sport other than the fans of that particular team. Having compeitition teaches people how to work harder for the things they want most in life. It teaches you that when you lose, you get back up and try again. There are no short cuts to competition. KD made the weakest move ever by a superstar. And one more point about what max said about KD wanting to play in the perfect style of basketball which he said was only the warriors, KD coulda joined the greatest BBALL coach ever, Gregg Popovich, which has a very similar style to the warriors play, just with less shooters. He coulda joined Brad Stevens in boston with their style of play. They play fast, move the ball VERY well, and play hard every possession. I know the mavs have a horrible team, but Rick Carlise is a fantastic coach. He is definitely a top 4 coach in the NBA, and has won a championship bc of his wits of coaching. The warriors arent the only team that has an unselfish style of play. So with that said, leave some comments cuz I wanna know what yall think about this long ass post i just made.
I vividly remember watching a Warrior regular season game and heard them talk about the possibility of them picking up Durant in free agency because of the cap space jumping. Durant most likely was planning on GS well before they played him in the WCF.
I love all this talk, KD did the right thing. It made HIM happy. SAS, Russell Westbrook, Lebron James, and any of the others bitching aren't paying him or walking an inch in KD's shoes. KD's happy and that's all that matters.
