Love catching sheepies, blackening and on the grill is my favorite. A few years back I was fishing sand bars on the incoming tide using shucked clams, caught a 24" dheepie, my buddy caught one the same day ! His was 22" only diff. was he was entered in the el cheapo tournament here in Jax, he won 20 grand for his! I wasn't entered. :( However the method of fishing I was using was taught to me by a commercial fisherman, who made his living fishing! 8 rarely share it as it consistently catches more and bigger fish as well as far away from piers and pilings that frequently cause one to lose fish. You are damn good at it Brad, but never forget Beach Bum is Best! :) Really love seeing y'all getting out there! Sadly I haven't done much fishing for way too long, way too long:( God Bless y'all!
@@BeardedBrad92 yes it's a big deal around here lots of boats go out I've not ever fished the tourney but it's popular. They kick off looks like an armada of boats when they head out from the mouth of the Saint John's . My buddy had that fish he caught mounted! Google it, I forget how many boats participate but it's huge!
Great job on the video ! You were really school'n poor BBB. Those Sheepshead fillets looked TASTY ! You can fry anything in a Wok; just add only a little bit of oil to toss around to brown something (any meat, and/or Veggies, Bean Sprouts, Onions, Peppers, etc.), or add enough oil to submerge your fillets to deep fry them. I also have several different sizes of the FryDaddy deep-fryers; the lids make it easy to store and reuse the oil (I prefer to use Peanut oil).
Well plated Brad! Out fishing BBB is some achievement! Those sheepshead really do pull hard, I’d love to come over there and catch one some day! Keep up the great work Brad. Until next time- peace and love from the UK
Mixing hot sauce with ranch is common here in wisconsin Sriracha and ranch is my favorite with walleye. Congrats on the pb. Hopefully I make it down south soon
Heard u mentioning a fryer and my fav 💯 for inside the house has always been a Fry Daddy or they have a bigger model the Grandpappy ,, They are tall to keep the mess down and u just fill with oil to the line and turn it on that's it !! Gets to a perfect temp to fry In and does a great job ,, 👍 🔥
Y'all need some habanero hotsauce mixed with some Frank's hot sauce.& Louisiana hot sauce that'll fixed right on up.,or how about some ghost pepper hotsauce& lemonpepper& lime juice.& oldbay season mixed up in A bag for marinading fish to fry in. By the way those things you use to fry fish in are called fry daddy's bro. Their electric ones.,propane ones. You really only need the fryer basket.& A stainless steel pot.& lid.& propane gas grill side burner for cooking the fish in.
You cannot give any cooking advice if you need to buy sauce by brand and not able to make your own one...blah blah blah get some fuel to your food and a match!!
I agree with the warden, Its nice to finally see them being caught out there! been a slow winter in the surf. I went to Kings Dominion with the family instead this weekend. was another cold raining weekend at the NC coast. water temp is 58 so were getting there eventually
Nice convict fish! I'm surprised to see BBB fishin' for them, they're not his favorite 😂. I wonder if your pompano rigs would work for sheepshead with a sand flea or fiddler crab? You need a wok for frying fish and making lots of other food. They're super versatile and deep enough to keep oil off the stove. I use mine almost every time I cook, sometimes I use both woks. They're great.
Caught them off crabs, shrimp, squid, plastic baits from Berkeley, mullet, sand fleas that have been deshelled They will eat about anything with a good enough presentation
Can you hook the shrimp from the head? just curious because I usually thread the hook by the rostrum, but try to not poke the brain so it won't die immediately.
Nice fish Brad. Great video. Today is the first day of Spring so hopefully the weather will improve soon. You do Great videos anyway,no matter the weather
Another good video. I'm watching it on Sunday night so I have you and Beach Bun playing on my desk top and Naked and Afraid on my TV. Do a Naked and fishing with Lil Red one Sunday night and I'll turn Naked and Afraid off. Just kidding Dawg. Love your channel so much. Freddy P probably would be glad to film that one.
Congrats on your PB ☺️ you should try Maul's sauce , it's made in Kansas City !!! I think Walmart still carries it ! Any fish that I cooked , I did cornmeal and flour and mix in a bunch of lemon pepper , and fry it !!! Going to go fishing with my sister finally here pretty soon , at fellows lake here in Springfield Missouri ! Maybe catch me some crappie I haven't had any in years ! Anyhow , good job Brad 😊
One different way to cook them is to cut into chunks and wrap in cheese cloth then boil with crab/shrimp boil. Use like you would for recipes that calls for crab. Leave it to a Cajun. AHHHH EEEEEE!!!
They realy dont need soaking Brad. Theyre such a sweet tasting fish with their diet. One of my fave fish to eat. Any way at all. I do it baked whole with a Spanish sauce for a good dinner with friends/family. But deep fried tacos will do it fine!
Wow, great catch! funny Brad, the day after we fished with you, we went to the same pier and were catching a bunch of Croakers using the sabiki rig I mentioned to you and sure enough, dude comes and checks out our cooler and when he saw they were Croakers, 14 inches and some large Spade Fish, he said and I quote: That lady in the office called me and she thought you were catching Pampano below size limit.....sorry to have bothered you.....I guess we were the only ones catching fish.....Great catch though, I must admit I hate cleaning the sheeps head, they are tough fish! My best to your growing family and hope the sheets will help you out!
Have you ever used magic thread to secure sand fleas to the hook while sheep head fishing? I never feel the bite and was wondering if this may make it a little more difficult to steal the bait and allow people like me to feel the bite?
I’m sure that frying Sheepshead are great as well, but I was highly impressed by simply cutting off each filet, hit them with blackening seasoning and grilling them scales side down. Nice flaky meat that lifted right away with a fork!
Nice day pier fishing! Always ask game wardens and biologists where the best fishing is. They are always tracking schools of fish and most of them I've met love fishing as much as we do.
dang man, I'm so envious of you guys in gulf region. Sheepshead is on of my favorites from when I was a kid and went out on the overnight party boats out of San Pedro California. Caught them in frequently but often enough. We, OK me/Ihardly ever find them fishing the Rocky parts of our coast. So your catch here was really fun to see. the last sheepshead I caught was over 30yrs ago. Really appreciate your sharing the fun.
Hi Brad I like sheepshead marinaded in zesty italian dressing for about 3 hours to over night then fried in a mix of flour corn meal and old bay always good.
Hello from Knoxville Tennessee. I bought two new reels because of Tackle Tuesday . I’m a new subscriber and I have been watching all of your videos for the last two weeks. It’s about time too head to Florida so those reels better work. LoL. One more thing GO VOLS
Have you ever done a beer batter fried fish? It's easy to do, if you don't know how maybe get the click baiterz all together and let Melanie give you some instruction. I also don't understand the need to cover up the taste of the fish with so much spice and sauce. Nice catch today!
Hey twinkle toes! Lol. 50/50 mix of white corn meal and plain bread crumbs seasoned with garlic paprika cayenne and salt eat with your favorite hot sauce, peppers or tartar sauce depends on your preference
@@BeardedBrad92 yeah it is. I grew up eating fried fish with cornmeal. My southern grandparents always used it. And several years ago I noticed adding some breadcrumbs to it would brown some and add more great flavor to it
Live prawns are great bait for any ocean fishing...I putt a swivel 15" up the line from the hook with a running sinker after it with live bait , that way there is less weight for the bait to deal with so it's movement isn't impeded on. Man that beach break had a good gutter going on there (towards the pier on the righthand side at 1.06) it could have been very productive. Those sheep fish sure are meaty , why do ya marinate 'em in milk ?
You guys should go over to LA No Limit on sheep's head and no one Harrases you. I do one trip a year and stock the freezer with that one trip then the rest of my fishing trips around the south are near my favorite strip clubs. Just in case the fish aint biting.
In a pot of boiling water, add some sugar, paprika and Tony C’s. Cut into lobster bite-sized pieces and drop in until slightly cooked. Take out and drain on napkin. Then dip into a warm garlic-butter sauce and enjoy.
