Just IMO, but it makes sense to me. How many people age 6O+ escape not having to use ANY kind of vision corrective devices? In my group of Boomers, I would say only One out of Ten of my friends/family still claim that their eyesight is "Perfect, no problems". Demagogues have existed at least as long as we've been recording history. It's a flaw in all of us that we're susceptible to people who stoke our negative emotions & make us go all viciously tribal about things, rather than reliably remaining level-headed. We have the potential to be a well-informed educated populace now more than ever before, given our technology at this point. But it remains to be seen whether we work upward with all of it, or whether we spiral downward into something much worse, using the tech to keep us all in our own little bubbles fighting each other (or rather, the exaggerated demonic versions of each other that our bubbles keep telling us exist out there).
