They mention in the lyrics 'from Seoul to the SKY' . This refers to the SKY universities, the top 3, Seoul National University, Korea University, and Yonsei University. Students fight tooth and nail to get in them, and parents push the kids from behind.

I DON'T THINK THEY CHANGED AT ALL, THEY JUST GREW UP. AS WE CAN SEE FROM THEIR TRILOGY ALBUMS. THE GUYS TACKLE DIFFERENT ISSUES LIFE THROWS AT THEM AS THEY GO ALONG, FROM REBELING AGAINST EDUCATION SYSTEMS, SCHOOL LOVE, HIGHS AND LOWS OF ONES YOUTH, MENTAL HEALTH ALL WAY TO SELF LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE, POLITICAL AND SOCIAL COMMENTARY AND SO FORTH. THEY ARE CONSTANTLY GROWING AND EVOLVING AS PEOPLE AND ARTISTS. IT'S LIKE WE ARE WALKING ALONG WITH THEM ON THIS JOURNEY OF LIFE FEELING ENLIGHTENED, COMFORTED AND UNDERSTOOD. DISCOVERING BTS WAS ONE OF THE VERY FEW BEST THINGS THAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME, AT THE LOWEST POINT OF MY LIFE!

Great reaction! They don’t dislike school but the expectation and rigidity starting with the parents. Students need to be able to explore their options, not just a government job. All members have their bachelors degree and working on their masters. 💜👍🏽🎼👏🏽

Whilst they did end up making money from their careers, it didn't mean that they could choose to stop school... all of them have their bachelor degrees and are still aiming for their Masters... and they did that whilst they were doing everything else, touring, recording, doing lives, living together away from their families, dance prac, singing .... They have and still are working really hard.... So the societal pressure on Korean students still included them, even though they really didn't need to continue with their education... but they wanted to.

This is why I love BTS MV's its not just dancing or music but their MV's matches with their lyrics and has a story connected to the song.... not just change to another set from another to another that doesn't even connect with the song or no sense at all. Lol

S.K.Y is for the 4 most prestigaes Universities in South Korea. This is track is a social comment on the harsh South Korean Education system which is the cause of the highest child suicide rate in the world now they took over from Japan.

This song was made to make a point against tbe cruel Korean education system. The suicide rate in children and young people between 9 and 24 is the highest in the world and just now Kotean teachers are fighting against it too, because in weeks it's the 3rd teachers' suicide. The teachers are not excluded from this madness too. Mental health support is non existent in the country. It's so sad😢

And after school, they go straight to tutors/academies for even more studying. Students are pushed to study for most of the day, come home, eat, sleep, repeat.

They sang Cypher 3 at the free Busan concert. In front of government officials, they sang, "B*#%h, I don't care. You can't control my sh@t." Shortly afterwards, they announced their intention to enlist. Their government had dangled the possibility of military exemptions almost up until Jin's birthday when he HAD to enlist. You should look up the whole Busan thing. I'm sorry, I don't have links. Basically, after a couple of years of asking BTS to be the city ambassadors to help Busan in the selection for the World Expo in 2030, and the guys either refusing or ignoring the requests, local officials approached Jimin and Jungkook's fathers help get their agreement. Busan is their hometown. So, of course the guys said yes. And cue the whole horse and pony show where BTS were appointed honorary ambassadors for the city. Then, the officials said that they would host a free concert in the city for ARMY. Let's just say it was a clusterf*ck. Hybe had to come in and p ay for almost everything so the concert could happen. I think that whole situation just cemented the guys' determination to do things their way. So they declared their intentions to enlist in staggered times according to their ages. The government tried to use BTS's pride in their country, their family members, and their sense of duty to control the guys. They said NO.

N.O ( NO OFFENSE ) it's about korea's 3 hard Universities School System..students have to have certain grades to pass & it's why..Korea's number 1 suicide rates in school.. this song reminds me of K-drama show called"sky castle" very SAD SHOW😢😢

I’m late to this reaction. One thing to remember is Korea is not America. The red pill doesn’t mean the same as it does here. Also, in Korea they say kids go to school all day, then go another 4 to 5 hrs to “cram school”. They are studying to pass an exam which will show what college they qualify for. It sounds like their entire life revolves around d education. From listening to interviews if young people in Korea, there is almost no chance there for any success without being born rich or getting into a top college. The suicide rate for kids from 10-19 (or something) used to be (probably still is) the highest in the world. They are saying no to this system. Don’t live someone else’s dream.

They were indeed rebelling against the strict school system Korea has where kids have to study all day and after school still have to go to cram schools to be able to pass the exam that will determine which university they can attend -or not. Success over there is determined by what university you have graduated from in many cases, so the pressure is immense. But they are not against schools and learning, just the system implemented which hurts kids more than helps. All 7 have bachelors and have been working on their masters before their military duty. No idea if any if them obtained their masters yet. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🫰🏻🫶🏻
