''They won't take floaters in here mate'' Surface fishing for Carp  

I'd hate to think how many times people have said to me that the fish in this lake or that lake won't take floaters. The big lake is no different. I'd had 2 people tell me that the Carp don't take floaters and pay them no interest whatsoever.......
ALL Carp are natural surface feeders and will take floating baits. One reason I believe people think Carp won't take floaters is because they see them cruising around on the top on hot day's, catapult a few mixers out and watch the carp cruise by without paying the bait any attention, then presume they wont take floating baits. In the heat of the day the carp are usually never interested. Early morning and evening are a different story!
This trip proved to follow the usual guidelines - although I didn't arrive until 9.00am ish, the fish were up for a feed, then gradually dwindled away as the day warmed up - and it was bloody warm! lol
