Thank you for talking about being vegan for the animals ❤️ that's my story too and I know I'll never go back but it's hard when the the overwhelming majority of the world doesn't see it our way. Hearing a little sermon like yours there fills my heart and gets me inspired again so thank you!
Looks like another Mr Sarno recipe I shall be making! I'm coming up 8 years vegan now as well for exactly the same reasons you stated in the vid. No animal suffering is worth it for our taste buds. Look forward to the next recipe
Yes, cheese was the hardest to give up. But once you do, you never look back! It’s the best thing I ever did for my body and consciousness. Derek I love your videos I grew up in a pizza shop my parents had two and my husband and I have one today. We started several years ago selling vegan cheese pizzas and several vegan options and it’s amazing to see the popularity! I love your enthusiasm cooking vegan and your experience in the business shows in your video and creativity Thank you!🙏🏻🌎❤️

I love your recipes!!!! No crazy ingredients, simple, but insanely delicious! Keep them coming! 💚
The pesto pizza has my name on it. What a great idea about the cheese. I'm going to try that. Giving up dairy cheese was a tough one for me. I'm vegan for 7 years. Hi Frankie. Another wonderful video. Thank you. Denise
I don't believe it, not a mushroom in sight! 😅 Honestly these look so good I would order them in a cafe/restaurant - but then again, they are so easy to make at home 😁🌱😋 Thank you for speaking out for the animals. 🙏
Ok I had to pause the video at 11:08 to comment! I love your content and delicious recipes and how you explain your reason for becoming vegan/not consuming dairy. Much respect to you 🙏🏼 I’ve been vegan for about 6 months now; transitioned from being vegetarian/pescatarian the last 15 years! This is the WAY, without a doubt.
I respect that you were honest about how long it took you to re-learn how to cook everything vegan, especially being a professional. I'm in the same boat, but just an amateur cook - replacing cheese is a tough nut to crack, this pizza might just save me from my nutritive yeast dislike!
Great video as always. Very consistent. You’re a great reluctant role model for the non vegans. I always look forward to your videos. I’m as interested in your chef techniques as the food you prepare. I’m 12 years vegan, 11 years certified plant-based nutritionist, 9 years certified plant-based chef.
No sooner online than done ! Discovered your channel one month ago and immediately liked your way of mixing professional cooking capacities and empathy for animals. So, here in France it's time for lunch and your recipe (with a little bit of habilities of mine) is already done ! Kids and parents have ate it all and loved it!
Amazing video, and you're completely on point about dairy, we need to start seeing subsidies shift to level the playing field out for the plant based cheeses, and you present it really positively, we need to call people in to learn and make their own choices and not call them out. I'm not really keen on the store bought vegan cheeses myself as well, I tend to use blended cashews leftover from homemade milk, then mix in some tapioca starch and flavours and use that as a liquid straight on the pizza, cooks up really nicely!
Thanks Derek! I'm not vegan but my wife is, so having meals that we can cook together is important. With recipes like yours I don't miss eating animal products, and we get to share meals instead of having 2 different ones.
What’s holding you back from joining her? My husband joined me and I love him soooooo much for it. He also is extremely glad that he went vegan. His blood markers were horrible and now they are amazing. High cholesterol high blood sugar. Pre diabetes. Now, all his numbers are amazing. ❤
Love this video👌🏻 I went vegan for the very same reasons as you, also 8 years ago, your dishes look amazing, I’ve made a few of them myself, don’t quite look as good as yours but taste banging👌🏻 love that your dog is vegan🥰 thanks for your videos, I love the inspiration👍🏻
My vegan bestie told me years ago “nothings gonna die to keep me going” i was all “wtf are you talking about?” eating anything 🤷🏻 Been vegan 2 years, 9 months on restricted time eating, lost 4 inches off waistline & looking 10 years younger. Thanks to this video I’m updating the+philosophy; nothing is gonna suffer to keep me going 👊🏻
It's about 7:30am at the moment for me and my stomach just yelled, "We need both of these pizzas in our life", lol. These look absolutely delicious! I'm curious to know if the garlic oil can be canned (Mason jar) and used at a later time for other things, if made in a larger batch. If so, what would the shelf life be? Anywho, thank you for a great video. I'm going to totally try this recipe!
I'm making this tonight!! The whole process of cooking is therapeutic. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, here you go! The music at the end, hahaha😂!!!
Absolutely amazing Derek, beautiful mouth watering pizza! Who doesn't love pizza? Thank you for talking about how we dont need to compromise taste for a kind way to live. I send so many of your videos to my family to help them make the change to being vegan. Thank you for all you contribute to stopping the cruelty❤
I been vegan for 2 years, and never going back. If I can live my life without consuming animal products and reduce the harm I do to others, why would i not? Thank you for sharing your recipes and your passion for cooking!
Lol...I just ordered a pestle and mortar after watching this episode! Your cheese recipe is kinda genius. I'm trying that! I appreciate your stand on no dairy❤ As always...great video! And always great recipes! Oooo and I am also at 8 years vegan🥳🥳🥳
Derek, first of all, thanks for showing us how to make this yummy looking pizza! Love the style of this video: The cut finger, (because I did the same thing the other day and am now reminded I'm only human) making the cheese, (like you, I am not thrilled with vegan cheese. This looks like a winner and super easy, opening up new ideas for uses) Italian music, Frankie tax, supporting your local bakery and even how you use a covered oven sheet as a tray! INSPIRATION FOUND HERE!
This looks so good! I love making a vegan mozzarella from cashews. Nora cooks has a great one! Thanks for another amazing recipe. Looking forward to wowing friends with your recipes again this Christmas!
Frankie tax paid - love to see it. Also these both look amazing. I’m in such a bread phase right now 😂 so this is perfect for me. Going to the store now for greens and a leek [edit] oh wow were vegan twins - I’ll be 8 years in January as well. 🤘🏾
Those look so amazing! I love the idea of a cheese and yogurt mixture. Will def be trying this. Good to see Frankie enjoying tofu. My dog comes running as soon as I pull out the press! Vegan for the same reasons as you BTW!
Wow this looks amazing, will be making these for sure. I’m also 8 years vegan coming up in January, for the animals and forever. 💚🌱 Frankie is so very beautiful ❤
Awe man.. I’ve been trying to work out a good creamy alternative for homemade pizza for so long! I’ve tried cashew cream spreads and stuff, but hasn’t quite hit the mark. I’ll be giving this a go this weekend!
You can use gluten free vegan ingredients because that's what I do myself since I have a wheat allergy; yea it sometimes sucks, but you just have to know what you're "triggers" are that set it off and you make certain recipes work for you not against you to self sabotage or be your own worst food critic... By the way, terribly sorry for the 'late' comment.. bon appetit and have a safe healthy wonderful midweek
And for all those who want to hear one extra health-based reason to ditch dairy, I got one, derived from my mother's experience: she has had asthma since she was 12, her symptoms pretty much disappeared after few months without dairy stuff. Now she does not need any medications.
YUMMMMMM! Made these today for Superbowl and they were gone before the game started! I described them as.."Pesto/Veggie and Tomato/Sausage". All I heard was.. "WOW!"! "This is REALLY GOOD!" and "Is there more?!"! They went FAST and NO ONE asked about the sausage or missed it! Since I had Miyoko's Pourable Mozzarella, I drizzled it over the pizza and finished with the yogurt/cheese combo. DELISH! Thank you for sharing your passion so that I can share my cruelty-free lifestyle with my friends and fam.❤
👼Derek I just know you’ll be doing a spectacular show on the incredible Cheez recipe I just posted! It’s a Life Changer !! I don’t buy anymore store vegan Cheez now. Use less water to thicken the uncheese sauce .
I so agree, giving up cheese was really hard in the beginning because I love cheese. But i have found "violife brand" is tolerable, especially the vegan butter. I was an unsalted butter girl my whole life. Thank you for the cheese tip, it's a game changer. Your pizzas look so delicious. Thank you 😊.
I make the most delicious tons better cheddar cheese sauce from: the ultimate Uncheese cookbook by Jo Stepaniak. Recipe: American Grilled Cheese. ❤try it!
I’m a new vegan. Was vegetarian for years at a time and would do a vegan month here and there for the fun of playing with a different cuisine. While I have had mostly good meals as a vegan, I think you are right; there is still a period of adjustment regarding some tastes. And with some recipes people either get the texture or the taste to be perfect. When the texture works, then I think hmmm…play with the flavor ingredients and improve this. If texture is off…maybe it’s a pudding as opposed to something more structured. You are my favorite channel, though. I agree, have a respect for food and expect great stuff on your plate. Be able to share something others will like, too.
Made both for dinner last night. Had left overs for breakfast. Very good, very garlicky. I live in the USA so I have access to Miyokos pourable mozzarella so I poured a bit over the top of both before baking. Both were delicious and fast to make.
You’re my ideal man 💚 what an amazing discovery seeing your name @dereksarno whilst doing my Tesco online shopping to find this amazing recipe and a great vegan chef with a black lab to follow too 💚 what more could a woman ask for 💚 thank you so much for #crueltyfreerecipes 💚 I’m 8 years vegan in January too and will never go back 💚💚🙏
There’s definitely something nostalgic about French bread pizza and these two look fantastic! Great reminder that none of us are perfect…hope your cut is better. Miss America was very aware that dog biscuit was not what smelled so delicious in the kitchen. LOL
I've managed to stab myself several times, which takes a special talent. I've also cut myself by using my hands to clean off the blade. Lessons learned. Thanks for the tip about the cheese. I love learning from people.
Totally incredible. I love all the crunching going on. Makes me want a bite, mouthwatering. I miss cheese the most also and really don’t care for the ingredients in the vegan processed cheeses. I like the yogurt idea, almost ricotta texture. Thank you for sharing these awesome recipes.
Drooling here 🤤 I haven't had french bread pizza in decades. Definitely making it this weekend! Thank you for inspiring us with your talent and creativity. Love to beautiful Frankie 🖤
I had the leeks in the fridge :). Onion shaved thin would be good too. Green onions/scallions, if I were to use would be at the end, not cooked. Thanks for watching
Hi Derek I used to love Miyoko but I think the quality is not the same. I used Miyoko for my pizzas for everything but unfortunately when the company started growing the quality was not the same. Flavor is not good and even the mozzarella color looks different.
I love that you are unabashedly vegan for the animals. I am as well. Every once in a while i have a conversation with a non vegan, that goes south as soon as they tell me how much they love animals. Im definitely going to try the trick with the oatly. Looks delish.
You make some of the most delicious looking food! I'm definitely going to be seeing about getting these ingredients and making these. ❤ you're awesome!
You could also try putting some tofu in the blender with the pepperoni spices and roll it out super thin. Then you could cut out circles with a small lid ….
This video made my mouth water, which is true for most of your videos. I've been eating plant based for 40 years and always find new and interesting plant based recipes. Watching your videos inspires me to keep experimenting and having fun cooking.
I tried the vegan cheese trick. It is as tasty, delicious as Derek said. I make a far better pizza at home than I can get at very over priced carry out.
Hey Derek Surprised that you didn't use any mushrooms or the celeriac "pepperoni" ... 😏😏😏😏 ironically the ad that showed up before the video, was for Domino's pizza...hehe 😃😃😃😃 Also thanks for the tip on creating a wannabe ricotta cheese for pizza using cheese shreds and vegan yogurt....much appreciated Hope you and Frankie are having a safe healthy splendid Sunday evening... bon appetit
