Thickening a sauce with cornflour

Sometimes you need to thicken a sauce without reducing it more. If this is the case then use cornflour (cornstarch).
1. Loosen with cold water
2. Whilst liquid is boiling pour in - remember it will only thicken if its boiling so do it little at a time,

Thank you. I miss clear simple straight to the point videos of instructions in clear clear english . Now a days the video tiles are in english but when they start talking you will need a translation 😂 or you will hear the 2pack and some African rap in the background 😅😅 . Oh, thank god, I'm about to make my family stir-fry but was going to use oyster sauce, and it turned out they didn't have it. I know how to make something similar in taste but the thickening agent always messes me up. For some reason, I never thought to mix it with water first…

(C6H10O5)n; H2O, so I guess from that we have Oxygen, Hydrogen, Carbon, also some Iron in there. Chemistry is fun.

Does it work with pre made custard eg ambrosia?

Not really as pre-made custard has cornflour in it already. You could add more but it would be ultra thick.

This is corn starch, not corn flour. They are totally different things

I live in UK where it’s called cornflour and is the same thing as cornstarch.
